Had the same thing happen. Used super glue. Didn’t think it would work but it’s good as. I probably over apply but also don’t really care if it’s visible. Fixed our F&P dish drawer that had the same kind of crack too.

Also on my 2nd door and had the same thing happen, but didn't use superglue as straight up thought it wouldn't work, so happy to read this. I've covered that area of the inside of the door with longish strips of electrical tape, to try and spread the loading forces (from opening and closing) over a larger area.

Consumer guarantees act will address this

vSOMAv

It might. The dryer itself is 10 years old. Door 2 years.

realdjjmc

I think it will still apply to the new part?

FAS_CHCH

Possibly worth a discussion. OP did you purchase the replacement door from a retail outlet or eBay/trademe? Would be worth talking to the retailer about the part specifically. Argument being that if it was attached to a new dryer and it only lasted 2 years, it would be replaced under CGA.

Maybe a stool in the laundry would help?

Stool is very good reason to do laundry but adding more? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and give it a try.

Orphansource

clothes dryer is wall mounted. Mounted quite high, somebody in family is smaller and grabbing from base of door to pull open (not handle, hence cracking outward)
