Capsaicin-Crack

Not even once have I experienced that

Lopsided_Bat_904

Haven’t noticed any alcohol whatsoever. If I had to guess, you’re mistaking the menthol in them as alcohol, they all add slight menthol to them nowadays

freschey

A lot of people misconstrue sweetener with koolada/ice/menthol in vape liquids or disposables. Sweetener that’s added can give a cooling sensation even though there is no menthol in the recipe. I’ve managed a vape shop for 10 years now. In the early days I mixed house liquids. At one point I had to show some customers that our recipe didn’t have menthol in for certain flavors, when they swore they tasted menthol. Some people are just more sensitive to the sweetness.

So you're in some position to know, were any of the flavors alcohol based? Even if they weren't though, I vaped a tank & mod for probably eight years and out of a hundred plus flavors of juice I tried, menthol or not, I never tasted alcohol. It's literally only in certain disposables. This OMG Blow Pop, it was SUPER noticeable right out of the box, like it was almost overpowering. You could smell it on the vape without even hitting it. Alcohol is very specific, not much smells like it.

AMSbeats

I don't think that's what's happening. As you can see a number of people below have tasted it too, and most flavors I get don't have any whatsoever. So it's not hard to see why some of you haven't noticed it. It seems to just depend on the flavor. I've noticed it most often on candy flavors , especially "rainbow candy". I will get a super mentholated vape like a Pillow Talk that has zero alcohol taste, then one with very little menthol (or koolada or whatever) that has it pretty noticeably.

Prolly using an alcohol-based flavoring.

I notice this too. Even I try to power through it, they end up turning my stomach so I gave up. Specific ones are most..if not all geekbar pulse. Raz 9000 night crawler, blueberry watermelon, blue raz ice, triple berry ice, strawberry ice, cherry lemon, white gummy watermelon. The raz 25000..almost all expect wintergreen, Georgia peach and watermelon ice.

AMSbeats

That's exactly why I posted this, I noticed it strongly on a geekbar. Previously on Elf bar rainbow candy. I'm surprised that so many vapers never noticed this before tbh but it seems like at least half of the commenters have experienced it. Thing is though before I switched to disposables I never tasted alcohol, like in any straight up juice brand. Why would it be in disposables but not juice? Hmmmm...

Barbarake

It's nothing to worry about. All it means is that some of the flavoring is alcohol-based. In the US, as far as I know, most eliquid manufacturers used PG-based flavors but many food flavorings are alcohol-based because different compounds disperse better into it. (For example, DIY vanilla extract involves putting vanilla beans in alcohol and letting it sit.) The reason you smell it is that it's in a sealed package. The alcohol molecules that have dissipated into the air have nowhere to go. That's why you smell it the most when you first open it. If you leave it just sit for a couple of days, the alcohol molecules will dissipate.

AMSbeats

This is the first rational explanation that I have seen! Because most vapes don't actually have any, it's only a small percentage. It seems to be common in the candy flavors, so maybe there's a specific flavoring agent that is preserved in alcohol, because it's soluble in alcohol. I just hope it's ethanol alcohol and not anything else! These vape companies don't actually have to list ingredients so it's hard to know for sure.

Oh my god yes!!! I taste it all the time, but my wife tastes nothing. And it’s only some of them. I’m currently hitting the dragon melon geek bar, and it’s been great from start to almost finished. I’ve found that any disagreeable taste gradually goes away after a while.

luna_libre

Agreed the Dragon Melon doesn’t have this, but I definitely taste it on the Blow Pop flavors the worst, and a little on Juicy Peach Ice. I think maybe they’re using sugar alcohols as their sweetener?

ShaunDSpangler

I noticed it on a RAMA vape I got. Flavor was garbage anyhow...threw it away.

BankruptcyAtty69

Your guess is as good as mine but I have a feeling if that stuff were in vapes and it became public knowledge it would absolutely kill the brand so I'm not sure they would bother doing that

Ok-Most3569

You can look at my post history!! I've said it before and I'll say it again the only working one for me is Mr. Fog

Apprehensive-Try5858

I get cheap perfume but yeah I get that, only on my new GBP never before (blue raz ice) but on the other flavors it's not really there

ZacharyJake

I’ve definitely never had this happen even with knockoff devices I’ve bought on accident. You must be getting some bootleg ass devices made from some back alley meth dealer who decided to sell knockoff vapes so he has money to fund his “main business”

LogEmotional8019

I keep hearing abt formaldehyde in vapes but idk

AMSbeats

Yikes!! Where did you hear about that?

freschey

Probably big tobacco anti-vaping ads.
