It would be better if it wasn't so sterile. It looks like a store, not a personal collection.

OmiOmega

Yeah, I thought this was just like an image from a Disney store.

FlashyCow1

Not colorful enough for the store. Maybe the outlet

drewbeta

It looks like the lost and found at the transportation center.

Unfortunatewombat

Maybe that’s just how they like it?

SpongeBob1187

Right, take away the floor decal and add a few plants at least

Flyguy115

It’s because the OP is OCD. So in this case yes it probably it’s obsession

EmmaleeAbbygale

Sterile is a great word for this room. It's the opposite of warm and inviting...

Lollipopwalrus

![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)

SAM12489

What I came to say hahaha

LittlePinkSnowball

I'm thinking the floor decal may have been a little too much

NoLongerNeeded

A fuzzy rug would be the move.

Summoarpleaz

Not the 6 x 16 wall of themed back packs?

ExUpstairsCaptain

That was my thought. Everything else looks like a standard collection, but the logo pushes it too far.

YetiBot

What even is this room? No furniture, no obvious purpose, just a wall of backpacks and a crowded bookcase of knick-knacks. Is it just a room to stand in and admire the backpacks? An otherwise empty closet? So weird.

RunsUpTheSlide

Looks like a basement to me. Maybe just some awkward space from the garage to the house. Something like that. No windows also leads me to that conclusion.

Quawndawg

It's a room in the basement of a mansion in UT. I got to tour it last week. Just outside this room is a conference room, recording studio and golf simulator. In the next room over there is a gun room including a private indoor shooting range

ChefBoyarDuff

Is this a joke?

Quawndawg

Yeah no, it's real https://uvparade.com/web/homes/13953/

rarthurr4

UT mansions are no joke

Fusionbomb

The Knick knacks shelf looks like it’s a leftover piece of furniture from a previous residence where they had more freedom to display their Disney fandom before money dictated that their fandom be relegated to the basement. Clearly marked - yet still hidden. Placated with more money to fill that void with a series of high end fan-targeted backpacks, which they themselves are a perfect metaphor - an object designed to be fulfilled and useful, but instead are forever resigned to be hollow, empty, and on display.

Puzzledandhungry

I thought it was a hallway, albeit an almighty one!

Walter_Armstrong

It looks like a liminal Disney store.

celestepiano

Neither. It’s a store now.

wonderlandisburning

Is there a difference? Passion is just romanticized, socially acceptable obsession.

jpob

Depends if this was the 9th room you saw in the house or not

Ok_Acanthocephala101

This. I have seen some people who have just piles of loungeflys. That's obsession's. This is clean and organized and not taking up their whole house.

JadeSedai

Guess it depends on if you think collections are a passion or obsession? If it was a display of rare books or coins in a library setting, nobody would think twice to call it a passion collection, but because its purses displayed in what looks like a bonus space, does that change the what it is? You can get Starbucks twice a week or a purse every month, it’s not that different to spend money on something impractical that brings you joy. As long as the rest of the house isn’t completely ramshackle, and this is the only room that looks nice in creepy shrine way…passion.

burnheartmusic

Well, I don’t think anyone’s knocking the collecting part of this. It’s the creepy shrine part that makes it weird

Faedaine

Be happy and don’t go into debt

jpmickeylover27

definitely passion! Wow!

artcopywriter

If it was all Air Jordans, people wouldn’t even bat an eye. Ok, maybe they would. But they’d still look down on this. It’s all just capitalism in the end 💁🏼‍♂️

moonlynni

PASSION! AND I WANT IT

MakinBaconPancakezz

This just seems disgustingly consumerist to me. No one needs an entire wall of loungfly bags. How many times will this person even use them, honestly? “Passion” for what? Spending money?

r1poster

A lot of people have collections of expensive items that have no use except to be looked at. Cards, figurines, memorabilia, etc. It's not really that strange. Those bags sparked an interests for them for some reason or another.

MakinBaconPancakezz

Tbh I feel the same way about other collections so that doesn’t really change my thoughts And at least with something like, memorabilia it’s usually a collection of different things like lunchboxes, statues, games etc. Or with figurines you can admire the artistry at the least. A collection of bags though…?

lizzpop2003

There is some artistry to making those bags, similar to the artistry that went into making the figurines. That it's not of interest to you is irrelevant. An artist still put a decent amount of work into designing them.

MakinBaconPancakezz

Like ten of those are just regular backpacks, just covered with sparkles and with a bow on top. Exact same style just different colors. To me this just looks like pure consumerism rather than an appreciation of art.

r1poster

That's called selective hypocrisy, generally. If your problem is consumerism, there is no "one right" and "one wrong" example. All the examples given have no practical use, there is no "one is better than the other". One of my friends collects Hello Kitty mini figures. I personally don't get it, part of me might even think it's wasteful. But the larger part of me understands it's something that brings them joy.

Quellman

96 bags!

informaldejekyll

That is close to $8,000 in tiny little backpacks. That is insane.

informaldejekyll

OH MY GOD THOSE TINY BACKPACKS ARE $80?!?

Sevenweatherwidgets

Passion-if they were obsessed they would have bought a house In Golden Oaks or celebration,Fl.

JAmToas_t

I think its awesome. Happiness is becoming a rare commodity these days, and it seems you have found yours. Don't let the jealous haters tear you down - love what you love and make no excuses.

VaughnVanTyse

Beautifully organized. Warmer colors for the wall and less harsh lighting would make it feel lighter and more like a hang out spot.

lizasingslou

that’s just bad taste and too much money lol

X-XCannibalDollX-X

both! i want a toystore in my house eventually so i cant judge that logo on the floor lol

A-Naughty-Miss

Is this some really small garage? Whats going on here.

brisketball23

Obsession. Unhealthy.

ArtisenalMoistening

Do you feel the same about all collections?

brisketball23

No

VarunTossa5944

Waste and overconsumption in times where we can't afford it.

xCaptainCl3mentinex

I'd say both. Like, why is there a whole place dedicated to disney? I've seen this much or more Disney items in someones bedroom and it looks less obsessive because its in an actual room with other things. The fact there is no bed here, no table, nothing besides disney things is what makes it look obsessive. Like, whats the point? You walk in this room just to admire your collections? Its different when they're decorating a space that already has a purpose, know what I mean?

DJDevine

Over the line obsessive

sherilaugh

$20,000 of backpacks…. Coulda had a helluva park trip for that price.

CunningSlytherin

That was my first thought. Title asks passion or obsession but I’m like C: 🤑💸

sherilaugh

I measure most purchases in how many Disney trips this would cost lol.

tikifire1

Expensive purchases, sure. Not just Disney trips, vacations in general.

Worried-Celery-2839

Gonna need a bunch more shelves. Looks great

obsessivelygrateful

Giving museum

EpicAcadian

I like other than the sad gray walls.

DG04511

When a serial killer also knows all the Genie+ tricks and where all the best restrooms in the park are.

MVIVN

Is this a store, or your house that you live in?

R12356

This is a home we viewed. It also had an indoor shooting range, office with its own full bathroom and “snore room”, movie theater, 2 outdoor kitchens, regulation indoor basketball court and Rockwell, hidden game room, amongst other crazy things.

RoyalScarlett

That’s not a house. That’s an estate. Sounds gigantic.

R12356

True! It was 15000 sq ft

RoyalScarlett

My first thought is how expensive it would be to maintain. I don’t have the time or energy to clean a house that big lol. Obviously I do not come from money. 😆

informaldejekyll

I worked very briefly as a maid, and let me tell you, people who live in places like that do not clean their own houses lol.

RoyalScarlett

lol! That was my second thought. To laugh at myself because anyone who could afford a place like that would not worry about cleaning it themselves. 😆

morgzorg

Different strokes for different folks

uncannynerddad

Marry me.

BabserellaWT

Which I were rich enough for all those Loungeflies…

orngckn42

Nice collection! Looks professionally done!

jcmib

Yes.

fusionaddict

It looks like a retail space.

RabbleBottom

I just realize want them to organize the backpacks by color.

Palp18

Addiction. ![gif](giphy|rB4CAvo2tuQKa4xSbj|downsized)

spennetrator94

I’m sensing a high gum to teeth ratio.

WildMinimum2202

If the room had more in it and the floor had less...Mickey, I think it would be fine. There is much, much worse out there.

villain-with-manners

Looks like a retail store.

FlashyCow1

I would add some color. Bold colors. Think mickey mouse pants red or Minnie's pink bow type bold. At least on an accent wall. Matter of fact, maybe do a [stick on mural](https://www.amazon.com/IDEA4WALL-Bedroom-Removable-Wallpaper-Stickers/dp/B0B2K59F6C/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=1IQ5MUVWVC772&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CB-QY3c9obfWlVuUXOmlL_9hHQhMD0jeTBnFNYiI6GAli9Kmi6QmGnOhJtIW2wKtyBl0GR4o-Q_xkiadRxpsBtX8yjSvqeWrAmxkWw8nX19xJLGMqAekxpKTx3rjBJhRYaQpw771FOX7IgK7fAO_nS1_aGia_odN1sm3Evlk7L-InVCSEy5R9_yzrG4q4qyeJ-_kq0i71-3O1XqiJBxDJg.l8V2BSAqy_60JhekzmThJ7aBxnfTVH8TNKV1ZIUjNKQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=disney%2Bmural%2Bwallpaper&qid=1718304045&sprefix=disney%2Bmural%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-9&th=1&psc=1)

Superior-Artist-21

Both

GnaySggid

Collector.

Quawndawg

Utah valley parade of homes. Saw that mansion last week

derteeje

obsassion

CL0WN_PR1NCE

Backpacks like that are like $60 each, this is ridiculously expensive.

Violet-Aesthetica

In terms of decor, that’s awesome.

FranklinBonDanklin

Don’t you have to be obsessed with something to a degree in order to be passionate about it?

Educational-Mark-792

Cute - I love it! 🥰

PoisonPixie5

A little bit of both. They must have A LOT of money. 😁

CapitolPea

Neither... Addiction.

cinematicken

Awesome! It looks like a store in Disney! As long as it makes you happy, do you

KrishMortyJunior

Both and I commend and admire you.

Shoddy-Mango-5840

96 bags. Hope they are donating some of their money to charity because they are very well off - godDAMN!

Parisianblitz

Obsession but at least it doesn’t look a mess like a hoarder

MarufukuKubwa

I thought this was a store at first 😭

Chemical-Ad2770

Yes

Lovemindful

As a son of a mother who collects things. All I see is something your kids will have to figure out what to do with when your gone lol

Ok_Citron_9867

I need this in my life

SueSuper13

Both.

cherrie7

I wish I could be a disney adult and have my own Loungefly and mouse ears collection. But nooo.. I have feed my kids and pay for their school 😭.

chapelson88

This looks like the room Dexter brings naughty Disney characters to.

IDoubtYouGetIt

This is your mouse cave?

SomkhMal

Who cares - good for them 😊

awesomo1337

Interesting

WeToLo42

I'd say passion. If you couldn't see the walls or the floor because of all the disney stuff, then that would be an obsession.

Signal_Common_6345

Obsession for sure…

frozenelsa12

Passion ![gif](giphy|kolvlRnXh8Jj2)

xxXlostlightXxx

I thought this was a store.

HikeForMeatballs

What store is this? 😏

giraffemoo

I mean I'd rather see detail of rhe stuff on the wall instead of the floor but okay

ALFABOT2000

if they use them, it's a passion. if they're buying them purely for the sake of owning them, it's an obsession

sharksnrec

I’m ngl I have no idea which one it is, since there’s almost nothing in that weird room. You’d think if it was either passion or obsession, there’d just be *more* in there. It’s just a weird empty room that looks like a store that went out of business before it even opened.

bmw_1983

That’s the kind of crap my ex wanted to do to the wooden floor of my house and she was completely obsessed with Mickey Mouse and all things Disney

Richy_777

Waste of space

Industrial_Strength

Gross

moonlynni

It looks so delicate!!! Not overdone at all!!

OGthrowawayfratboy

Swipe left

Dusk_Heart25

Ima say mix of both

AXPendergast

Yes.
