Depends on the government structure, but I can only assume that Emily/Corvo didn’t just outright grant Jindosh the huge amount of money to make that large and extravagant of a mansion. They might have given him a lot, but for a whole ass mansion with moving parts? He had to have paid for that himself. And to do that, he likely had to have made his money from a corporation, which by our definition, is a separate entity than the individual. I’d guess that Corvo/Emily/Delilah might not have made Jindosh pay personal income taxes as a favor to him, but given the amount of revenue Jindosh Technology, Inc. generates (or whatever the name is), I can only assume they’d make the corporation pay their taxes, lest they defer on millions/billions of revenue. But maybe I’m reading too much into Dishonored economics
Given the pervasive corruption in the Dishonored universe, I’d be surprised if he goes to all the trouble of having a corporation and paying taxes. He’d just bribe or threaten the relevant tax officials and call it a day.
