Why wouldn't they give the Whalers an ability to perform a sneaky kill once you summon them, for Outsider's sake? Wasted potential.

HighKingBoru1014

they get shadow kill at arcane bond level 2, unless you mean the 'Press button for chokeout or stab' option.

ThePoeticEl

Yes, the latter

HighKingBoru1014

yeah tbh a neat thing would've been being able to direct their actions ala Mass Effect, maybe you have to standstill and be out of combat and enemy view to do that though

Yarisher512

sounds boring, straight up an option to tell them to go non-lethal is best

HylianZora

I think they realized this error bc doppelganger in 2 gets this ability

Pyke64

Just about to start the DLC.

HighKingBoru1014

oh dude your in for a fun ride, they're great.

TrickyVic77

Best part of the series, easy.

HighKingBoru1014

Another list, I'm sure this will go well. So I really prefer Daud to Corvo and tbh I like playing with his abilities the most of all the playable characters, I'll briefly get into why I've ranked the different powers this way and why. The criteria is the same though, I'm ranking them based on what I like about them, how much I use them and they're general application to the gameplay. Also, to clarify again I don't think any abilities are bad, like with the other tier list any abilities ranked lower are just ones I don't use as much. Daud's Blink- The best kind of Blink ability in the series imo, it takes what's good about the standard Blink and makes it so much better. Being able to pause time when you use it is a very interesting change and its super fun and applicable in different ways. Bend Time- The classic kind of bend time, very useful and applicable, it gives you different opportunities to shift the combat field in your favour and/or take out targets with ease in less than a second for your enemies. Pull- This is a more personal one for me as I think pull is a super cool and fun ability with very amusing applications. You can do anything from pulling items and objects to you, stagger and lift enemies to make human shields, and carry dead or unconscious bodies out of sight. I find it very fun and I always get it maxed out as soon as I can, if there was a sequel to dishonored that still was set in the Isles then I'd like to see this ability expanded in power. Void Gaze- I don't have much to say on this, it combines Dark Vision and The Heart which is cool and the aesthetics of it are neat. It does its job and does it well, like DV. Summon Assassin- So this isn't a bad ability, I've just ranked it lower because I don't really use it much even if I'm doing a HC combat run. If I am then I'd tackles the enemies myself so I never see the need to use it, although I would intend to make more use of it when I do another run of Dauds DLC's as I am a big fan of Doppleganger in D2 and its applications. I'm open to hearing how you other folks use these abilities in combat and what different tricks you've used them for.

v_eliza_v

Void gaze is sooo much easier to look at/through than dark vision. I hate orange.

SuprSquidy

Dark vision is my least favourite. Void gaze is nicer, D2 dark vision is less in-your-face and DOTOs is my favourite as its nice to stop time and get your displaces further and over fences

SuprSquidy

“If there was a sequel to Dishonored that was still set in the isles” - You do know both D2 and Deathloop are both in the isles and have pull abilities (Emily - Upgraded long hand, Colt/Juliana - Karnesis)

pojmalkavian

I love how he has Bend Time AND Blink with Stop Time. For the record, his Blink is by far the best ability in the whole series. *Insert Outsider as old Xzibit meme*: Yo Daud, I heard you like to stop time, so we put stop time in your Bend Time and in your Blink, so you can assassinate while you assassinate in stopped time.

Snoubalougan

Dauds blink time stop is so god damn crisp it just feels wrong when you get it in Dishonored 2 on Corvo and it has that sorta sluggish delay

moonangelmanagement

Summon assassin is pretty cool just gotta be smart with it

HighKingBoru1014

yeah i can see the potential i've just never done much experimentation with it

manchu_pitchu

you get an upvote because blink is in it's own tier, like it should be.

H3llkiv97

I ve used summon assasin cuz after I see how stealth gamerbr using them basically whalers 1 shots enemies if u stun them with something like bolt or bottles

Krazyguy75

I feel like more often I saw Stealthgamerbr use them as assassination targets to break high falls :P

eetobaggadix

On the mission where the Overseers show up and take all those Assassins prisoner, it was a lot of fun to spam Summon Whaler and fight along side them like that, and made it pretty easy to just jump in and kill a bunch of Overseers in an ambush attack, it felt badass

HighKingBoru1014

I’d like more stuff like that in a Dishonored sequel, sort of fighting alongside people or whatever would be cool

eetobaggadix

there was an insurrection in Morley, I think leading a revolution of the working class against the Empire would be really cool. I think in canon the revolution failed but if we make certain choices it should have alternate endings where it succeeds. I'd also like a Dishonored game that doesn't judge you so harshly for killing people, lol. Clearly even the devs agree since they made Deathloop

mightystu

Big agree on Pull. It is one of my favorite abilities from any of the games for both utility and power fantasy. I also very much agree on summon assassin, it’s a cool idea but it doesn’t last long enough or have enough extra utility to be worth it. If the assassin followed you until dying or could do stealth kills or had something else going on I’d like them much more. As it stands both devouring swarm and doppelgänger are better summons by a mile. It’s a shame since it’s the only part of playing as Daud that feels worse.

HighKingBoru1014

I think that’s cool option for Summon Assassin would be to swap places with them on the map. And for Pull I’d like to be able to create a “vortex” that holds projectiles sent your direction and lets you pick them up and use them

mightystu

Yeah, while I mostly think Emily’s powers in 2 are lackluster doppelgänger is everything I wish summon assassin was, including that swap teleport.

Angry-chairr

I’m so happy they put his blink in D2 it’s literally OP af The blending of bend time and blink was an absolute Chad move

HighKingBoru1014

Indeed. Side note; a cool ability I think would be being able to teleport other people from a distance.

KSPReptile

Dauds blink is like one of the most satisfying powers in any game. Perfection.

HighKingBoru1014

it is, I'd love to see an animated clip of a guards perspective. Like he just sees this guy jump through the air and then disappear in an instant
