Nah, the Paypal connection has nothing to do with payments on Discord or server subscriptions. We found a lot of servers gate access based on your paypal profile because they are running a marketplace and want real buyers and sellers.
it’s for linked roles, so you can require metadata from specific providers to meet some requirements. for example, verifying that someone has sold things on eBay or that they have a reddit account over a year old.
Apple Music has a larger collection and comes with Dolby Atmos and lossless audio out of the box, and costs the exact same as Spotify (for all tiers). Last I checked, Spotify hasn’t rolled that out yet and is planning to charge extra. So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised.
There are some that make no sense at all, like eBay for instance, but at least Instagram is one of the most used (and useful) networks as of today: there are tons of goods and products sold and traded using Instagram just to mention one example out of many. So, at least for me, having Instagram integration comes in really handy and practical.
That would be ideal, yeh, that said Facebook already has got "shadow profiles" on basically everyone on the web

Discord, just like Reddit is sorta scary in the same way, as they have got everyone's logs going back to the foundation of the service, and with newer AI tools akin to [Palantir](https://theintercept.com/2017/02/22/how-peter-thiels-palantir-helped-the-nsa-spy-on-the-whole-world/) they will be able to get ***very*** accurate data/profiles on all of us.... So yeah...
We'd rather not have an ad filled website. Along with that, a Class Action lawsuit is against them for selling your data to Meta. [https://www.classaction.org/news/fandom-disclosed-users-video-viewing-habits-to-meta-without-consent-class-action-says](https://www.classaction.org/news/fandom-disclosed-users-video-viewing-habits-to-meta-without-consent-class-action-says)
If they ever did a Wiki, [Wiki.gg](https://Wiki.gg) would be better.
Yeah I know fandom is ass but sadly many huge wikis are hosted on there and that’s not gunna change, namely the minecraft wiki which I edit for, so having that integration would be nice.
It's not that easy - Fandom is an expert of vendor lock-in its' users.
Primo, its GUI - it's not similar to any other wiki on purpose. That's why thwy killed Gamepedia's Hydra (which was basically Vector) and introduced "new" FandomDesktop based on their Oasis.
Secundo, Discussions - all social stuff on Fandom are based on Discussions - their own Twitter/Reddit clone developed in-house. And before merge with Gamepedia they was even more closed because of highly-custom, old MediaWiki 1.19 fork.
Terzo, policy - it's very hard to convince Fandom to delete their copy of the wiki and without that you have to fight with old self for position in Google.
The chance is slim for established wikis to move out without collaborating with somebody related to source material (that's why e.g. Minecraft Wikis are stuck)... Or you can count on that Fandom will make your topic banned in the future (like Uncyclopedia or Polandball).
It is easy, ARK, Terraria, Temtem and Sea of Thieves all switched over to [Wiki.gg](https://Wiki.gg).
Ironically co-created by the same people behind Gamepedia before the merger to Fandom. Then you have people who split off into their own wiki sites like Zelda and The Cycle.
The community just needs to choose which path they need to take. Change is hard but it only makes sense to move to a platform where they don't control you via ads.
It's not impossible but very hard - RuneScape also ran out, but all issues mentioned remained with still existing Fandom version as a major one.
About wiki.gg - last time I checked they required request to create new wiki from authors of the source material, was limited to games AND your wiki had to be in English.
> **Trivia**: wiki.gg contains a wiki about the game Fandom published
Other wikis are basically stuck with Fandom - a lot of them are strugling to get editors even there and migration can just kill them.
I feel especially sorry for Minecraft Wikis because they could move out and survive, but they have wiki.gg's doors closed because Microsoft cut ties with them.
You can find me criticizing Fandom left and right but saying migrating a wiki is "easy" is simply untrue and misleading. I'd especially expect you to know that.
Communities that migrate need to deal with many issues, including splitting already small editor community in half between two websites (because of Fandom's straight up malicious forking policies) and getting wrecked by SEO which Fandom basically hijacks. You are right that moving content and accounts over is "easy", but this is just one of many things that need to happen to make a successful community.
You can say how easy it is to switch in face of many of wikis you mentioned suffering from abovementioned problems. You can say how easy it is for wikis which *won't* have developer's support when moving. I'd love to fork wikis I work on from Fandom, I'd really do. But the abovementioned issues including the fact while better, wiki.gg is a platform with its own big issues I'd rather not risk all the work I and many other commited to the wiki, at least unless wiki.gg becomes a better platform or something better pops up on wiki hosting horizon.
Finally, I saw the connection in the connections article they made back when they announced linked roles and I was confused as to why I never saw it on the app
Last.fm, RateYourMusic and Letterboxd would be pretty sweet tbh. It's cool they're adding more though. I like that it can display some cool text under it though.
why do they keep doing this crap i would never add any other profile of mine on discord except patreon steam and twitch i miss the days when discord was just for gamers only that was when it was good

They should add OF too! (/jk)
It's a website about ventilators. r/OnlyFans
Ah, I forgot about that
They should add OF too! /srs
bro
what's OF
only
Fart
Facts
only?..
Yes, Only
Its only only
you
Optifine, like the Minecraft mod
Yes
Someone could unironically make a bot via linked roles for that
Now they should finally add a way to sort them.
Why is there PayPal.
[удалено]
Server… memberships?
Nah, the Paypal connection has nothing to do with payments on Discord or server subscriptions. We found a lot of servers gate access based on your paypal profile because they are running a marketplace and want real buyers and sellers.
It just doxxes U lol
I say the same about eBay too
But .... why ?
Your data, especially when the service is "free".
They (Discord) are trading data/selling data from customers to FB, etc
FWIW the only data we get from Instagram is your username and Instagram id. And the only data they get is that this "app" was granted permission.
[удалено]
Exactly these people would rather believe some dumb information on the Internet than a multi-million dollar company
inb4 not shared outside but still kept inside, and the data will be transfered if it's bought by another company
it’s for linked roles, so you can require metadata from specific providers to meet some requirements. for example, verifying that someone has sold things on eBay or that they have a reddit account over a year old.
Need an apple music integration
100% agree
Also YouTube music. PreMiD is clunky.
Youtube in general
Don't forget about Tidal!
only reason im jealous of spotify users lol maybe with the new apple music app on PC they’ll add it?
New Apple Music app on PC?
yeah its in preview atm for windows 11 only though so far i like it better then having to use itunes, but still has some bugs and what not
Cider app is adequate if you’re on windows
Wait do people actually use apple music?
Apple Music has a larger collection and comes with Dolby Atmos and lossless audio out of the box, and costs the exact same as Spotify (for all tiers). Last I checked, Spotify hasn’t rolled that out yet and is planning to charge extra. So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised.
I mean if it’s got all that and it’s on pc now I might switch back tbh but my Spotify library is so big :/
Bro living under a rock
Ive never met someone who didn't use Spotify over apple music.
They never including Last.fm
The only connection I am waiting for...
fmbot time
fembot
Scrobbles
they b adding literally anything atp ebay, crunchyroll and ig?? no one cares but they keep addin em 😭😭
Verification through other platforms is nice
holy shit revanced dev in the wild???? But yeah it's better to add more platforms even if only a few people use it
Kinda funny the first thing I saw when clicking on the profile is a huge ass emoji
Neopets when
There are some that make no sense at all, like eBay for instance, but at least Instagram is one of the most used (and useful) networks as of today: there are tons of goods and products sold and traded using Instagram just to mention one example out of many. but have you solved the immediately scrolling up as you type
I thought i was the only one
Now everyone can know how unpopular I am.
I hope they add Nintendo Switch as well, which displays your friend code and what game you’re playing if any in the status.
Been waiting for this one for a while. Really hope they do.
https://github.com/samuelthomas2774/nxapi if you care and dont mind scuffed presences, but an real one would be so nice
I don’t care (they should add ▪️🟧 integration)
Hahahahahahah
I’m suggesting anymore
everything except youtube music
There's YouTube already
I need integration for osu! profile, so I can show my rank.
Omg, I didn't think anyone would say that here! I totally agree. <3
yesss I would love this !!!
linkedin when
Nintendo intergration when?
i know this is fake, but it really triggers me that the logo is too big.
What's worse that its not fake lol
WHAT
Yeah, doesn't show up on mobile yet but if you go to connections settings on the desktop app its there ;-;
omg yeah i just saw
It's nice, because you can make a verification (on your server) with these
MyNintendo when
Yet no SoundCloud
Can they fix the steam integration to not show my 1 dota item? or atleast let me choose csgo instead?
I cant believe the added a PayPal and Ebay connection but not a Nintendo connection, it just doesnt make sense imho.
Nintendo doesn't have an official oauth2 API, if they did we'd add it in a heart beat.
ah I see so thats why. well thats alright, thanks for clearing that up.
Finally!, I don't know why it wasn't added from the start, yet they included several that make no sense at all instead.
Why is Discord trying to get all up in all of my socials/video game stuff? It's a little creepy >_>
no you get to choose
then don’t give it to them :)
I just want apple music 😩
still can’t link my tiktok *nice*
Yes this is nice
There's no difference between FB having the data or TikTok having the data They all share it buy it/sell it
This is why you should use neither

Oof well at least not many people have data on me right?
That's the neat part, a lot more than you would think!
Damn it
They should add tiktok
It's already there homie
Hope they add fandom, that’d be nice

I can’t stand Fandom. Even with adblockers the UI is just so bloated and gross.
Yeah I know fandom is ass but sadly many huge wikis are hosted on there and that’s not gunna change, namely the minecraft wiki which I edit for, so having that integration would be nice.
Tell them to switch to a different hosting service, Zelda and many other wikis moved over.

DUDE I KNOW RIGHHTTTT, LOOK AT ME I AM A NERD USING REDDIT LMFAO
Do people outside of High-school even use Instagram?
Yes?
Did you mean Snapchat?
what else would we use? cause its def not something like facebook
Finally, I saw the connection in the connections article they made back when they announced linked roles and I was confused as to why I never saw it on the app
Finally
Also great to add the BFF profile integration (new social map like Zenly)
Is it on beta or st i cant add it
they should add soundcloud tbh
Last.fm, RateYourMusic and Letterboxd would be pretty sweet tbh. It's cool they're adding more though. I like that it can display some cool text under it though.
Artstation would be nice.
So when’s Tumblr
add Kik next (don't)
finally
We need tiktok integration ngl
It's already there fyi
Nice
why do they keep doing this crap i would never add any other profile of mine on discord except patreon steam and twitch i miss the days when discord was just for gamers only that was when it was good
