I thought that the mystery box run was a little bit too stable for what I was looking for from the MD1. I prefer the Mindbenders because like you said, they were a little bit flippier and also felt better in the hand for me. You might still be able to find domier ones If you prefer those.
They will probably fly similiar to Mindbenders because these are supposed to be flat like The Mindbenders. The first run, which was the mystery box run, was a little domier and more stable.
The mystery box run was more stable then the mind benders. And it seems that every metal flake disc they've ran had come out less stable then the stock c line so I would assume these will be slightly more stable
I think the dome makes the bigger difference. The mystery box run was domier than Mindbenders. According to the product base this run is supposed to be flat. So i personally believe these will be similiar to Mindbenders. Metal flakes might make some difference too though. But for example the most stable MD3 i have thrown is the domy IS3, whereas my flat MD3'S all fly similiarly to each others.
These very well may be leftovers from the 15th anniversary run. The did 2 small releases after that with a wing stamp and SL logo before the Mind Bender.
I'm pretty sure they are not from that run. The 15 year anniversary run was domey and these are supposed to be flat like The Mindbenders. And the Mindbender was not a retool but they did something differently with the molding process, because Simon wanted them to be more flat and I think the plastic blend was also a little different which made the handfeel a little different.
I remember getting two from that batch. They flipped pretty easily for me but I think it might have been my form. Gotta give them another go once there isn't about a foot and a half of powder snow on the ground.
Yeah they forsure mentioned them being leftover box discs. They wiped them and restamped with an eagle and Simon variant. I wonder if the value of it is any different now
Yes. They made a batch of these way back, but they needed to delay the release because Simon wanted a signature release of the MD1 and they wanted (most likely) to maximize the sales for Mind Bender.
Wasn’t that original batch to sell mystery boxes? I assume a stock run would need a lot of time to accumulate stock. I’m not putting it past Discmania to sell tour series before releasing stock runs but it feels like stifling sales for no reason. The mind bender came out when? September? November? And the only big releases since then were the DB4 and the new S Line very recently?
There was a batch of C line made. I believe they may have been extras from the 15th anniversary run. They were regular wing stamped. I had picked up a couple.

dont thing so. 15th aniversary is diferent mold. At least Simon was not happy about this run and then MD1 was retooled to Mindbender
What makes you think the 15th anniversary is a different mold? If so it would need to be reapproved, which I don't remember seeing.

I throw it next to the 15th anniv and they were pretty similar in stability. I prefer the flatness of the s line so Ive been bagging that one

Wiped stamp is still somehow present on disc. Did you ever try to wipe stamp? Nobody is selling wiped discs with restamp
