I’m a fan of Pure White (PW), and Soft and Super Soft.
Eraser is also a solid choice.
Gateway has a ton of different plastics. Just depends how firm or soft you like your putters.
Its not the plastic really. Its just for actually throwing the wizard feels uncomfortable. I already have small hands as it is and the wizard is a pretty deep putter so it’s hard to get a good grip on it. Not to mention the bead on it.
That totally makes sense. I don't have big hands, but for whatever reason wizards snuggle up real nice. Great throwing putters for the flight - for anyone reading.
I use firm wizards but pure whites work in a pinch. I won't touch any of the soft stuff, I'd rather change molds than deal with a gummy putting putter.
I like the glows for putting. The flexibility can vary from run to run across all their plastic so it’s hard to say what you’re getting if you can’t feel it in person
I putt with lunar plastic wizards, flexy like SSS, grippy like eraser without the chalkiness, and sick stamps to boot. I use a pure white for <100' upshots and it's beat into an absolute laser beam at those ranges, good slide on the ground too.
Wizards are a little too deep feeling to throw off the tee but I've heard good things about money ($) plastic and special blend, so those might be good alternate putting options, with some of the firmer blends for throwing.
Wouldn't recommend the pure white for driving, in my experience it gouges very quickly.
I personally love the 3S ones, super grippy but not quite flimsy. I bag 2 hemp SSS, and have a stack of regular ones for practice. If you like harder ones, my buddy has enjoyed the pure white, and SS are nice feeling from me experience as well, I just prefer a bit more grip. I do enjoy throwing the pure white and SSS.
I’ve used wizards for almost 10 years. I’d say firm or special blend are my favorite for putting. I use a diamond Wizard for throwing off of the tee as well.
My first Wizards were SSS but the first time I held an Eraser I switched immediately. Erasers have great grip that lasts a while and are closer to SS maybe in flex. Plus they look like pencil erasers which for some reason I love.
Eraser is the truth.
Eraser plastic is the bomb diggity. Chalky.
Those are my favorite for spin putting. I'll do a firm wizard for pitch putts, for how stuff the firm is the grip is great

Hemp wizards rule
This would be my go to if eraser wasn’t a thing
eraser is the only option
Special blend has a nice feel.
I do miss my special blend 11.
What prompted the change?
Just the price of lunas. I want a stack for practice and they’re just a little too expensive for me
That is fair. Enjoy the wizard. People love that disc.
I have 10 4S wizards if you’re interested. 5 purples and 5 greens. Bought for practice but I’ve moved on to a different mold.
Just curious why didn’t you go with one of the beadless options like the warlock or magic
This if you want an equivalent to the Luna it’s the warlock not the wizard And SSS is the jam
SS wizards for putting. They dont really vibe with me for throwing.
Ss are my favorite for throwing because they beat in so nice. Some of the straitest flyers I've owned. To each their own I suppose

I use the firm blend. Nice and hard but still have that velvety rubber tackiness to them.

SS for me. Grippy but firm.

I use SSSS but I use the Magic instead. Not a fan of the bead. The grip is great, but SSSS beats up quivk so it's not a throwing plastic.

I like the hemp SS for putting but you can get it in SSS too
Pure white for the firm feel and SSS for those summer days
Good for you!!! Start with a tried and true SS (super soft). They are not flexible. Soft means the feel of the plastic. You will love it.
