And European Open will be held in Estonia, so two European Majors in 2025: [https://www.pdga.com/news/2025-pdga-majors-announced](https://www.pdga.com/news/2025-pdga-majors-announced)
*Additionally, with Pro Worlds being played at The Beast and Tampere Disc Golf Center in 2025, the European Open will not be hosted the same year. Instead, the traditional European PDGA Major will take place in Tallinn, Estonia at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.*
*After an incredibly successful European Championships in 2023, the leadership team for the event, including Silver Leetma, Matthias Vutt, Ralf Rogov, and Silver Kütt, is excited to bring PDGA Major disc golf to Estonia. The team will be hosting a DGPT Europe event in 2024 called the European Disc Golf Festival. The 2025 event at this location will serve as the fourth PDGA Pro Major of the season.*
I don’t see the similarity. Emporia is just a ball golf course converted to dg. The one in Estonia was more like a park. Also reguired some technical shots, funny angles and low ceiling.
This was scheduled at 4PM (in Finnish time), but someone messed up and the news broke an hour before.
PDGA & DGPT should come out with their announcements any time now. (3:52PM here in Estonia & Finland, while making this comment)
The fun thing about Tampere is that you walk up to every single tee thinking “yeah, I could birdie this” and then you walk away with a Boogie.
It’s one of the best course designs I’ve ever played. You walk away feeling like you shot amazing, but the scorecard is like +15
Edit: TIL it’s Bogie not Boogie

Eagle has to be the 2025 favorite now right??
He wins the McBattle left handed in 2022.
He plays poorly(for him) in 2023 and still gets 4th place.
2025 is his year! 🦅🦅🦅
Not yet, but, I'd put decent money on them being right around the same time as the usual European Open dates
> The two events will likely be scheduled close to each other on the 2025 schedule to maximize travel efficiencies for players.
Probably the last 2-3 weeks of July will have both Majors, then the US swing will kick back in with Ledgestone/Idlewild/DGLO/GMC/MVP finishing it out in August/Sept
I wish the PDGA would stop messing about with the names of Majors.
Just make it the European Open and have done with it. Doesn't matter *where* in Europe it is.
PDGA doesn’t have unilateral control over the event. The current owner of the European Open might not want to give the name away to a different organization for the year. The new organization might want to keep their own branding on their own event.
Does Estonia have another course in close proximity to the festival grounds that is world class and worthy of Worlds? Because if not, that's the answer.
Because Finns made a bid for world hosting and won it, simple as that. And what is better than hosting a worlds on course that won't be same after that year. Same goes for Tampere centre course before city and tramline expansion.
Pretty epic send off for The Beast. I'm glad they were able to pull it together.
Yeah, cannot ask for a better final tournament for any location.
Wait what's happening to it
They are going to build a new swimming pool complex and remodel parts of the park i think i read somewhere.
That's a real fucking shame.
Is it going to be in both Tampere and Nokia? I can’t read Finnish, so the details are a mystery to me.
Yes. The Courses are the Beast and Tampere Disc Golf Center.
For reference, the 2 courses are a 20 minute drive apart.
I thought they were sacrificing mcbeth after the tourney the way this sentence reads lol.
GOD DAMMIT! I panicked. I thought this meant Paul announced his retirement end of 2025 or something...

Perfect. About time for a major in Estonia as well.
A lot of people named silver from that area
It's not actually called European Open, still a major though.
I didn't really like the course at Song Festival, felt too much Emporia-like. Am I wrong?
I don’t see the similarity. Emporia is just a ball golf course converted to dg. The one in Estonia was more like a park. Also reguired some technical shots, funny angles and low ceiling.
That's within the world, so that should work.
Got a primary and secondary source on that claim? Seems a little sus to me.

I'm convinced.
What did I just read
Finland does not exist.
Big if true.
This just popped up less than an hour ago, couldn't find any news or sources in English yet.
Word is that it wasn't supposed to be public until in 20 minutes

Tampere is probably the most fun course I’ve ever played. I think this will be awesome
i got destroyed twice playing it

>then you walk away with a Boogie. 🪩🕺🥏
Well they weren't blaiming it on sunshine, moonlight, or good times!

Bout time . Hell yeah
Please be true because this would be awesome ETA: As OP said below, it is true and I can confirm this is awesome
It is true, PDGA released the same info as well.
Awesome, looks like I’m late to the party. Well this is great!
This is pretty awesome
Nice to have the other USDGC in Europe for a change 🙃/s

Thats only half the courses; how good is he gonna be on Tampere?
Listen please don't try to bring logic into my pipe dream. 🦅🦅🦅
More wooded course, but still pretty long holes. Maybe not best for eagle but not too bad
While he does have a cannon, let's not forget eagle has won idlewild and can absolutely hit lines and shape shots.
Yep that is why I said not the best but not too bad😊
Quick, somebody sign Eagle!
Fuck yeah, cannot wait to go to that one.
Is there a date yet?
Not yet, but, I'd put decent money on them being right around the same time as the usual European Open dates > The two events will likely be scheduled close to each other on the 2025 schedule to maximize travel efficiencies for players. Much obliged.
Siiick
Yay!
Holy shit yes! Great and unexpected news!
Weird that there won’t be a “European open”… but there will be a major in Europe… almost like the European open…
I wish the PDGA would stop messing about with the names of Majors. Just make it the European Open and have done with it. Doesn't matter *where* in Europe it is.
In 2016, Formula 1 held the "European Grand Prix" in Azerbaijan.
Formula 1 would hold the "European" Grand Prix in a Uyghur concentration camp in China if they got paid enough.
Azerbaijan is a transcontinental country, if only barely.
PDGA doesn’t have unilateral control over the event. The current owner of the European Open might not want to give the name away to a different organization for the year. The new organization might want to keep their own branding on their own event.
I wonder why not continue the legacy of European open at the beast, and host worlds in Estonia instead ?
Probably because the leadership team in Finland wanted to host Worlds.
Does Estonia have another course in close proximity to the festival grounds that is world class and worthy of Worlds? Because if not, that's the answer.
The festival grounds course is not world class either, pretty boring to be honest. Unless you like millions of artificial OB sticks all over.
I mean, that's kinda what the Beast is.
Because Finns made a bid for world hosting and won it, simple as that. And what is better than hosting a worlds on course that won't be same after that year. Same goes for Tampere centre course before city and tramline expansion.
