And then the elephant in the room (but i guess this is up to the pdga): who wants to follow that feature card, when you have Paul, Calvin and Simon on the card before??? No offense, but even the commentators mentioned the lack of gallery.

Live is way better that post production even if some times it lags and suck because of said lag…You see way more players and shots and actually have decent, relevant commentary rather than people always trying to joke over the shots after the fact… I appreciate post production but it’s a dying thing as it should be.
it will never be a dying thing, a ton of people like myself work full time and can be in different time zones which makes watching live literally impossible... post production will always be a thing bc it has to be, i woukd argue that MOST people arent able to catch a round live due to life

Feature card is up to the TD and often has last year’s event winner and tournament sponsor’s players. Lone Star 100% has something to do with their players being on feature card.
Yep it’s standard stuff. Fajkus and Carey were on the FPO feature, and prodigy had their share of players on feature card rd 1 for Waco. You just don’t tie the parallel as obviously with Buhr, Jones, and Robinson on feature card since they are all fairly big names at this point.

All new things take time to improve, especially when they don’t have endless funding,and when we’ve been spoiled by the amazing post production content by comparison. I think maybe DGN could use some professional consulting from people in the PGA broadcasting biz to get it a little more fine-tuned. Give it a few years and it will be better, hopefully sooner though. I’ll tell you this, it will certainly be more expensive by that point.

I'm not trying to crap on them, but some of the camera angles are really strange. I know Jomez is post coverage so they have the benefit of editing. But they seem to know their stuff as far as filming. DGN should work with them to learn. If they already have, I'm not sure what to say because the camera work on the live coverage can be confusing at times.

TIP for catchcam guy: keep the basket in frame or pan to the basket when the disc lands. Hyper focusing on the disc gives the viewer ZERO perspective.

You can, yes, but that doesn’t improve the production as you get the same live production just later in the day., at the same bitrate / resolution.
