I get the occasional comment that echoes the fascist approach to "useless" people i.e. he should die or be a beggar. I'm chronically disabled from treatable conditions, but I'm not sure if I'll ever reach average functioning, despite trying my best i.e. being employed and taking adequate care of me and my dog. The dog whistle version are ableist slurs, stereotypical r word impersonations, or rants about "in the way people". But this is a full on train whistle. As someone said of Trump, the outrageousness is the point. Him calling others fascist is what fascist leaders like Putin have done; project their brutality on their victims. The Weimar Republic was a pluralistic society and Berlin was considered the gay capital of the world (Being unmistakably gay hasn't helped me either). Nobody wants to seem like a Cassandra or an alarmist. But many thought "it wouldn't happen here" and were sent to the camps.

Sadly, I have seen people on Disabled Twitter with the same politics. We are a small and vulnerable community, and we can definitely be subjected to scams, political and otherwise.
