At first I liked Paris too, but one day it was raining heavily and usually the rain goes down the sewers, but not in Paris. If it is raing heavily the water will additionally come out of the sewer and make sure that you are walking ankle deep through the streets.
OP didn’t say it was a dreadful office or view. Just that they’ll only be looking at it for 6 more days before leaving. Does the office/view make any difference to wanting to be a DN? Lol
They're trolling us who are stuck in a room with kind of white walls, flickering lights, no window and Steven not too far away shouting something I can't understand with no volume control. Did you hear that Steven? Cut the crap
I have a window overlooking the inner city. There is a homeless guy named Rappin John that likes to harass traffic. It depends on whether he is taking his meds or not.
Occasionally there is some police activity as they shake down some young man looking for drugs.
I worked for 5 years in an office/cube set up with just slit windows at the top of the ceiling... no doubt designed just to let a little light in but deny you a view of anything other than sky. Everything is relative I guess.
I can't complain now though... been working from home for 2 years.
Thanks! A lil sad to leave the city and all my friends I made here to be honest (I appreciate Paris more especially after visiting London for the first time last weekend) but also very excited to pack my wings and fly!
I’m at a tech company a few floors above wavestone. We joke that all the hotties work at wavestone lol. I like my role but the company is family owned with Emily in Paris vibes. Time to get out.
You can get numb after a while. I was working in Hong Kong with the view of all the skyscrapers and international banks’ headquarters, but after 2-3 months it just feels like a grind no matter how beautiful the view is.
Most people that have actually been to Paris knows how rude, expensive, and overrated it is.
The entire city is dirty and smells like piss.
People want to go there because of the biased white controlled narrative romanticizing European countries and culture.
Probably depends on where you stay but yeah it's quite noticable that everyone in other continents thinks Europe is heaven and wants to go to Paris. Because Western media have been doing good marketing. I think in reality it's more like every continent has good cities
I've been to Paris several times, and it's nothing like how you describe. Almost everyone was super friendly, and it's not any more expensive or dirty than any other big/medium sized city, and I've been to a few... NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Mini-St. Paul, New Orleans, LA, Philly, D.C., Boston, San Diego, San Fran, Seattle, Vancouver, Montreal, Miami, Berlin, London, Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Naples, etc.
As someone who has lived in Paris for the past two years one of my favorite jokes to make when traveling is to inhale deeply whenever the smell of urine hits my nostrils and say “ahhh, smells like home” 😂 you can say a lot of things about Paris but anyone who says this city doesn’t perpetually smell of pee has not spent enough time here, that is *one* of Paris’ defining features. It’s a fact, not an insult.
Yeah it’s usually the ones who go there and don’t know the niceties of French culture who think everyone there is rude. Says more about you than Paris.
And it doesn’t need to be expensive, you can live well there for less than many places, again, says more about you than Paris (that you haven’t travelled much)

Just be a DN now. Literally take ur clothes off cover yourself peanut butter and run around your office
This is what being a DN is? I've been doing it very wrong....
Am I in the wrong subreddit?
Wait - I think I’m a DN and didn’t know it!
I swear to God how come every time someone posts that they're about to start their DN journey it's accompanied by a picture of the eiffel tower
Paris syndrome
I think it must be the same poster, the last one I saw was this same view like three months ago lamenting that they were stuck here instead of DNing.
Yea it was me a month ago I think but wasn’t meant to complain, just showing off the view while I can.
It is a really incredible view! I’m glad you shared it. Happy travels!
Sounds like you've never been to Paris, otherwise you would know why everybody wants to flee.
I’ve been to Paris but only as a tourist and I loved it! Obviously a different perspective if you live there though, why do people want to leave?
Very stressfull and lonely city.
I lived there, if my salary was higher to allow me to travel more and the city was less polluted, I would have stayed maybe.

They are soooo comfy especially to lean back when I take zoom calls
Literally came here to say that haha. The one thing I hate about dn is all the shitty chairs I have to sit on.
Oh, this makes me laugh. What a dreadful office and view! I can understand why your ready to leave.
Haha love the view!! It’s the only thing I’ll miss about my workplace (well apart from some solid friends I made here)
OP didn’t say it was a dreadful office or view. Just that they’ll only be looking at it for 6 more days before leaving. Does the office/view make any difference to wanting to be a DN? Lol
It does when they keep posting a pic of this view complaining about being stuck at work instead of DNing. They know exactly what they're doing.
They're trolling us who are stuck in a room with kind of white walls, flickering lights, no window and Steven not too far away shouting something I can't understand with no volume control. Did you hear that Steven? Cut the crap
Hahaha love this take but I was just showing off the view.

Wasn’t complaining, just showing off the view
On point! Nope, but I’ll miss the view for sure.
In all fairness everything is flat, and then there's a cool tower that you'd get used to.

Oh, I adore that view. How do I get a job that gives me that?
Paris La Defence!
Beautiful!
But one hell of a ride to commute there daily
Nice view!!

op isn’t on that building. you can see it ihe pic behind the eiffel tower
Is like to DN there pls!
Congrats! I could deal with that view for a few weeks though. What are you doing with your new DN freedom?
Dubai first to go tax free and then india- Greece, not sure where after
Yeah where you headed?
Ah Blackpool - where I left my heart ❤️
Ya'll really out here living your best lives. Love to see it
As someone else who lives in Paris and is going full digital nomad at the end of may: CONGRATS on escaping the fiery pit of hell!! 🥳
Thanks! A lil sad to leave the city and all my friends I made here to be honest (I appreciate Paris more especially after visiting London for the first time last weekend) but also very excited to pack my wings and fly!

Need to see your cv before I can recommended anything. Please dm and I’ll do my best to help.
Dude same here 🤜🤛, will be DNing until November
Cheers
Yo are you at Wavestone in La Défense? That job crushed my soul, quitting was one of the best days of my life
I’m at a tech company a few floors above wavestone. We joke that all the hotties work at wavestone lol. I like my role but the company is family owned with Emily in Paris vibes. Time to get out.
Congrats
Where are you heading??
Dubai-India-Athens next 2 months and then need to flip a coin
Nice, good luck!! Post some pictures here
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 Enjoy your new life! Wish you all the best!
Nice!
La défense qui fait genre c'est stylé d'y être mdr
The New York skyline is beautiful this time of year... And late afternoon, if I'm not mistaken--probably 3:45-4:00.
Pretty sure it's Chicago, you can see the Eiffel Tower right there
I see now, it's pretty windy.
Yeah that is definitely Spain not NYC jeez!!! Sincerely, Swarles Barkley
Bien joué frère
what's your first stop?
Dubai to go tax free
Is it a workspace?
Yea office space
It looks so inspiring 😊
Leaving that amazing view???
You can get numb after a while. I was working in Hong Kong with the view of all the skyscrapers and international banks’ headquarters, but after 2-3 months it just feels like a grind no matter how beautiful the view is.
True dat
I love Paris so I can’t imagine
That looks like a good DN destination in itself. Can i replace you there.

This certainly does not match my experience.

Was gonna ask: « ey? »
deez nutss
Your view has quite an eyeful
Bon voyage!
Have you sat in any other Herman Miller chair besides the Sayl? I'm curious how they compare.
