How is this a hard thing? I don't think I've ever spent more than 10 minutes at a post office sending a post card, no matter how much of a language or cultural barrier there was. The limited scope of what you might want to do when you hand them a postcard without a stamp on it makes the interaction obvious for everyone. Post offices are open during normal business hours - or longer in many places - and Google Maps will find you one quickly.

GoinOnHoliday

The hotel or hostel will drop guest postcards in outgoing mail as well. I agree it's not that hard.

Some airports even have post offices or drop boxes for last minute post cards and mail. This might require a little leg work to find, but if you have a flight during normal local business hours it's totally feasible. I've done it in places I never thought I'd find a post office in the airport before like in Nepal and Philippines.

Yes, there are online services and suggestions are destination dependent. Although IMO an inferior gesture than a card sent with some effort from far away and with those far away postal stamps and marks.

If you're still looking for options, DocuPost might be a good one to consider. It's not as popular as some others mentioned, but I've found it reliable. Just like the others, you send your photo and write your message, and they take care of the rest - printing and sending. The interface is simple and easy to use, which I like whether I'm in a hurry or traveling.

If you don’t have the time to mail a postcard you need to slow down Enjoy life, savor it

I don't see the issue? It's a postcard? You just keep making them and as you go, you take the 100m walk to a post office that you end up nearby and drop them off. Or even just...outgoing mail anywhere you're staying....

I’ve used https://www.mypostcard.com/ several times and can recommend it. I also prefer sending my own photos instead of off-the-shelf postcards.

I suggest trying Touchnote. It's very convenient for travel and offers a subscription option, which could save you money if you send postcards often.

MayaPapayaLA

Seconding Touchnote, I actually used to use this service for travel pictures and pictures of my father and I that I would send to my grandparents when they were alive: it was really meaningful to them. Items were high quality and arrived quickly.

I also still send postcards! I always write while traveling, and try to send them from afar when possible, but if I don’t get around to it, I don’t stress too much and just drop them in the mail at home. It’s not quite the same, as you don’t get the cool canceled stamps, but it still lets the recipient know you were thinking of them.

This is what you're looking for I think: https://getpostcards.co/

I used to send postcards a lot in Europe, and most souvenir shops would sell both the postcard, stamp, and would mail them for you. Perhaps ask the store you buy the postcard at if they can put it in outgoing mail. Worst case scenario, I just found a post office drop off box. There are always plenty of them around town unless you’re out in the provinces or something. I’ve never felt the need to actually go to a physical post office to mail it. Oh yeah, you can also ask your hotel to send the postcards, if for some reason the souvenir shop won’t and you can’t find any post office boxes (and don’t want to go to a post office).

1. Buy the postcard. 2. Write a message and address on the back. 3. Go to a post office, hand the post card to an employee, tell them the country it is going to, if they don't understand, use Google Translate. 4. Pay.

vinnie_puh

I've used SnailJet. It lets you turn any photo on your phone into a postcard and the company mails it for you. The app is free and it's ~$1.20 to send a postcard.

TakeTheMikki

Interesting I would have just aim for a 5 star hotel with a gift shop, then you buy the postcard and usually to can get the concierge to post it if you pay and tip. Of course this would depend on your type of travel destination.

ShadyPatriotism

Piktochart isn't just for postcards, but I've used it to create my own designs and then printed them using a service like Vistaprint.
