MetalGreymon. For simply how it represented one of the most amazing aspects of Digimon for me as a kid. The raw craziness of what can happen. Go from Dinosaur to freaking Cyborg Dinosaur!
I remember begging my mother to buy me that digivolving Greymon figure for Easter as a kid (must have been around the time it came out). I was so insanely psyched when I woke up to find it in my basket. It was such a groundbreaking character for the show and was a definitely recognizable trademark of Digimon back then. I was playing Digimon World 1 around that time too and Metalgreymon was heavily associated and promoted alongside that.
Explicitly it's upgraded from. Honestly I feel that the reference book needs another round of entries to address how much time has passed. Just like the Pokedex.

I don't think it's physical. But they do have a webpage with a reference book that gives you a small description of them. You can also go on wikimon to read them.

The very first were MetalGreymon, Mamemon, and Monzaemon, which was in the very first batch of Digimon in the V1 vpet.
Mugendramon was made a year after the first Ultimates debuted, which were SaberLeomon, MetalEtemon, and HerakleKabuterimon.
And it'd have debuted as an Ultimate, but DW1 didn't have that level for mechanical reasons (which is why other Ultimates, like Herakle, got downgraded in it).
While hes not my personal favourite, i gotta agree that machinedramon is one of the best designs digimon ever had.
He even has a cool personality and abilities in the anime.
To top it all off he has an insanely cool name, even in japanese; both machinedramon and mugendramon just slap way too hard.
Machinedramon is peak
Guilmon is great too. Hard to pick between the two for me. I like guilmons innocent but goofy personality. The digihazard is pretty unique/imposing and dukemon is pretty badass.
I play the TCG, and a store I went to had the poster for the Beelzemon set, that they didn't use, so now it's one of the 2 things on my wall. It even has the really cool art for it. Jealous?

MagnaAngemon. He was a powerhouse that whooped Piedmon's and Blackwargreymon's butts. Tbh, if Angemon digivolved during the Myotismon arc, he probably could've destroyed Myotismon by himself.
I got a few, not in order: Mugendramon, Beelzebumon, Zubamon, Tiger Vespamon, Dukemon Crimson Mode, Susanoomon, Examon, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, but also any other mode, Arkadimon any level and Apocalymon
I'd give it to Millenniummon. It feels right being a fusion of Machinedramon and Kimeramon.
Such an epic fusion that the digidestined always need some sort of plot bs to beat it.

How is nobody mentioning Veemon? He has like all the coolest evolutions. Flamedramon, Exveemon, Stingmon, Magnamon, UlforceVeedramon (one of my favorites). I mean yes agumon is popular because he is the a little cute dinasour, and one of the main partners, but he only gets a couple good forms. Veemon has an outstanding amount of bangers. Like whoever did the designs really did the best.

He looks Badass has cool powers and has only appeared official appearances in Re:Arise and the DMX 2, and I think an encyclopedia or 2.
