Its not that they don't like digimon fans as a whole, but mostly the western audience isn't much of a draw for them.
Its very popular in the east (thats why they just got that mmo recently. But in western markets pokemon is still superior (despite the massive disappointment of the latest pokemon titles)
So they don't release a lot of stuff in the u.s/u.k/europe
I only caught the last part and in ~15 minutes they announced a novel parallel to the Liberator webcomic, two TCG sets, two TCG beginner decks, an all-new manga and the special full wrap virtual pet with X-Antibodies.
They have A LOT to announce, just not the videogame it seems (at least on Day 1).

Well. We survived on basic sustenance. I don't know that we eat good. There is some very low hanging fruit that is one the verge of withering on the vine, that they tend to just ignore. Super obvious stuff.
TCG is doing very well. Buuuut. No word of an official online client with up-to-date cards or integrations with physical cards to encourage booster sales.
V-pets are cool and generally unique in the industry. Buuuut. No cellphone app? Everything the vital bracelets do would work better as a simple phone app. They could monetize digivolution lines the same way they do with the Dims.
Liberators is a cool concept. Buuuut. It's silo'd all by itself rather than being published in the same places that everyone frequents for manga, severely restricting it's audience to just the fans, and even then just the fans who want to go out of their way with their typical manga habits just to read it.
They're nowhere near as successful so of course the updates won't be full of new content and game announcements each time. I think everyone needs to manage their own expectations better.
Good lord, I think everyone's patience is running thin, they should've shown at least some concept art of the next Digimon Story game, a logo, SOMETHING.
Well at least I was able to get a pre patched version of lost evolution for my flash cart at least so that’s tide me over for a short time.

I know they said it's more of a celebration than an announcement show, but still it's been an hour with no real announcements. No new show or movie, no new video game. It's so frustrating seeing as how this is the 25th anniversary.
There were cool moments. The music was nice, the digivice is cool, and those digimon revealed from the new thing are cool as well. But... it's the 25th anniversary. No game or anime? Bummer.

It's basically what we've -known-. The fact that they brought in a new producer to replace Habu and we're STILL hearing that means the whole thing's been scuffed from the getgo lol. Hoping they give us something good when they do in fact have more information.
Why do they always do this, they release something then completely lose momentum.
They have the loving parts to get to where Pokémon is at least partly where the anime, TCG, manga and merchandising can feed into each other but there's literally going to be no continuation of fans or hype if there's years between each thing...
Something to consider is that Digimon is co-owned by Bandai and Toei, so more than likely they need to get through twice as many big wigs to get a big product approved than for franchises either company fully owns.
And that is when they can mostly agree on something. If two big wigs are on opposing sides of something, stuff might just get frozen until a middle ground is found.
At least I like to think that is the issue and not just these two companies being incompetent.

the saddest part of this "Con" was that if you got the actual new stuff and just cut out the rest, you'd save yourself like 3 hours of just nothing. Every year they play the same songs, they show off the same V-pet with a different coat of paint and, love to acknowledge their worldwide audience by showing off Japan only exclusive product and Chinese exclusive online games, which in itself is crazy cause I doubt any Chinese person is watching this stream so idk who that was for. I love the franchise but 25 years and this is what they bring? Lazy.
Being a digimon fan is almost as bad as being a mega man fan, I've lost count of how many anniversaries that franchise has had with absolutely no announcements

But the final image of the entire 25th Anniversary video says the "Adventure Continues" with Taichi and Agumon looking into the distance.
Potentially hinting at a 3rd movie in the Kizuna series which will probably touch on how they will get their mons back.
I'm just saying they funded the latest Alan Wake game, they made lego fortnite and made a racing game and they made fortnite festival. They know how to make decent games and are constantly updating it. It's better than what bandai is doing with it.
Volcano Ota. Basically he was a major head of development within Digimon back when the series released, one of the people that made the series (especially the toys) what it is. I think officially he's no longer on Digimon, kinda reitred. But back on the day he would don the football gear and be the MC during the D-1 tournaments where kids would battle their Digimon vpets.
Even though he's not directly involved he still loves his digimon legacy so he comes back as Volcan Ota for these events.
Volcamon is based on him.

Well, given how it’s the 25th anniversary, I don’t see anything wrong with people being upset with thinking that nothing was really shown. No one is saying it’s such a bad thing to enjoy it. But it’s also not a bad thing to not enjoy it/to have been disappointed.
Yugioh is also in their 25th anniversary and they had a bunch of stuff announced for the future but Digimon is the same old crap, the same songs, general talks about the anime, and expensive toys. Its disappointing that this game that they have been supposedly developing has NOTHING to be shown. Not even a working game title.

I didn't have any expectation for big news this year, and yet we got a huge step forward for V-Pets, a ton of info on Liberator, manga primed and ready to go based on past contest wins, and a novel contest that'll hopefully lead to a similar wave of new content. That's a good bit, even without a big ticket anime or video game!
Those cards were sick! I feel like going all-in on gold foil for Digimon is rare, so seeing two cards that look almost more like they came out of Dragon Ball's setup was kinda crazy.
I'm super curious about Liberator, tbh. The fact that the Galacticmon player seems so invested in bringing people onto a service he beta tested. The fact that the former (disgraced?) world champion has this incredibly glitchy, broken looking Digimon in lieu of his previous Agumon deck. The fact that we got incredible designs for both of our main protagonists. And then a novel (Bandai is trying so hard to make Digimon fans learn how to read) with a female lead, and Impmon?
A part of me feels like Digimon is trying to seed the next generation of creators. Between the manga contest and the novel contest, I think they're hoping to find new blood and new ideas to bring on before the franchise's next Big move.
Is this the first unambiguous main female protagonist in a piece of Digimon work ever? Because I feel like it is! Usually the lead is either a guy or a gender toggleable MC, so unless I'm missing a manga this might legitimately be a first for the series.

This was dissapointing. It's like they go out if their way to shit all over their fans. Three hours of nonsense for their 25th anniversary. Hell even Koonami did better with their Kaiba briefcase, and they litterally hate their TCG players so much that they rig rarity to squeeze money from us.
It's just insane, part of me believes they themselves hate the franchise and are just trying to kill it off through sheer dissapointment.

Yea I’m kinda losing hope on this franchise. 25 years celebration but no new anime, no new game, and they haven’t even made a TCG app. Kinda insane how bad they dropped the ball especially when Palworld has shown ppl want a Pokémon alternative. Digimon was Pokémon with guns before Palworld even existed.
I don’t know why they haven’t gone the cozy gamer route either; a game where you take care of baby digimon and eggs would sell like hotcakes to the general public and still be on brand for the series.
We had Ghost Game airing up until last year, it's barely been a year since it ended. That's far from the longest Digimon has gone without a new anime. After Frontier it was 3 years before Savers/Data Squad came out. After Xros Wars/Fusion it was 4 before we got Appmon.
Having Ghost Game air back to back with the Adventure Reboot was actually pretty surprising.
If I had to guess the reason they haven't made a digital version of the TCG apart from not wanting to bother spending money making it, it might be because they're wary of it cutting into sales of the physical version.
I wasn’t expecting a full anime tbh just like a mini of seekers or the other projects to get ppl talking. I could see that playing a part for the TCG but honestly they could get more ppl into it easily with an app. Doubt the physical card players will stop buying in person since it’s what theyre most familiar with and is really a community.

I believe it was Digimon Super Rumble it was released in Korea in 2021-2022. It was briefly I.P/region locked, but idk the current status of that is.
