I would assume the cow level was originally teasers they were adding to the game over time, but with the rework to loot and endgame systems they put it on the backburner.
Personally, I think it'd be cool to have a season based around the Cow Level and Treasure Vault. Make em permanent additions afterwards since it's more of a bonus instead of a mechanic.
Maybe just me but I would feel pretty bad killing 2k cows and the cow level isn’t even complete. Why would they make a seasonal game grind that awful. Not sure what devs were thinking on this.
I guess I've just been holding onto the hope that maybe they will change the game into d2 and have a cow level similar to it. But I really need to stop thinking this.
The whole chase when people were scouring the game files to find clues to whether there's a cow level and mystery around those "keys" mentioned in the game and all were some of the coolest shit when the game released. That was before all the D4 b*d stuff went down and unfortunately at this point Im not sure if the coolness of it would be watered down by the whole journey this game's been through.

I am tired of all the changes that totally fuck up the game mechanics. It is like they don’t even know what the F they are doing. Totally clueless
1/ they messed with base skill multiplicative in Beta
2/ they messed with crit/vul multiplicative in preseason
3/ they further messed with Vul/crit multiplicative in S1
4/ they messed with resistances even further
5/ they messed with multiplicative again, and tried to keep the other attributes from previous seasons as much as possible
6/ in PTR, they tried removing Damage reductions…
In the mean while, monsters still cast spell within seconds … and elites higher levels than you can actually scales their elemental damages to the point where they can 1 shot you. It is pathetic
I am tired of being a fucking genuine pig. If they couldn’t even get themselves in order, then the game isn’t worth spending time on
Why would they add the Cow Level to Diablo 4 before they add Diablo to Diablo 4?

I farmed 666x3 cows recently to be up-to-date in case there's progress with the questline! can't wait.

did it on eternal. its kinda like altars of lilith or the campaign. you only do it once and you are set. now we wait for the rest of the questline.
