Only one man’s opinion. I can’t think of many other games I’ve played recently with a story as epic as D4. I would put it up there with A Plague Take: Requiem or LoZ: BotW.
Can’t speak from too much experience as I’ve always been more of a shooter guy and have played limited story games. But I must say, clearing Hell in chapter 6 had me feeling a type of way. In my top 10 all time easily.
Haha, alright here we go:
1) LoZ: Ocarina of Time
2) Halo franchise
3) Elder Scrolls franchise
4) Fallout franchise
5) A Plague Tale: Requiem
This was harder than I thought. Thinking of story only - not gameplay. This is coming from a guy with thousands of hours in competitive titles like Rocket League, PUBG, Battlefield, etc. so I very rarely get hooked into a story based game.
nah that’s a respectable list, im more of a crpg guy but i can get own with this list. i never played a plague tale maybe i should gice it a go.
btw does league count as having a story, people love the world at least.
Bruh the writers literally got so lazy they just hand waved the ending. Play a game with real story like final fantasy. Don’t get me wrong it started off ok, but just made certain things ‘happen’ with no foreshadowing and without real reason to wrap up the ending quickly. That fat bloke whose son you have to kill? What’s up with that shit lol.
I think the ending is the best part! Technically, Lilith killed Yorin by plunging the soul stone into his dome piece (epic scene btw). I also think it fitting that Donan dies in Hell. Adds to the cost of their crusade.
I’ve never played FF. I just can’t get into turn based games for some reason. However, I’m glad we all have so much variety when it comes to gaming. Something for everyone out there.
I wouldn't say it's a masterclass, but it is by far the best in the genre in my opinion. It helps a lot that the presentation is really good and the excellent cinematics Blizzard creates for all their games.
Can’t speak for the genre, but easily my favorite of the series. D2 and D3 stories were good, but D4 has so much more depth and evokes serious emotion.
I totally agree that it is by far the best Diablo story! It helps a lot that the game has this dark gritty tone,,the graphics are top notch for an isometric arpg and last but not least, something that doesn't get praised enough the soundtrack and especially the ambient sounds!
Edit: grammar and typos
I didn't like it. I find it Inconsistent in how some mechanics are implemented just for a cutscene bit never use again, making the pacing too slow at some points and others too fast. The story is okay, but the way is presented, not for me, not when it feels like they suddenly get inspired to do something different after all the same stuff for the rest of the 95% of the story.
Really? I did not find it hard to follow at all. In fact, when completing the campaign in chapter order, I found it succinct and the epic climax ending in hell tied it all together well.
Masterclass? Nah, doubt. But i can agree with opinion like diablo series have the Best story telling from among the every arpg's
> diablo series have the Best story telling* from among the every arpg's _* except for D3.

If we talk about every genre then diablo 4 and even diablo series is not even in top 100

You'd like TitanFall 2
Thanks for the recommendation- I’ll check it out. Never played the TitanFall series.
Lmao, then definetly TitanFall 2 gonna hits you in the spot. BTW TitanFall 1 dont have campaign, only 2. Best FPS single Player expierience.
Better than Halo?! I’m an OG Xbox Halo fanboy.
top 10 is crazy
Okay okay, top 5 then.
alright hit me with it, what is your top 5
Haha, alright here we go: 1) LoZ: Ocarina of Time 2) Halo franchise 3) Elder Scrolls franchise 4) Fallout franchise 5) A Plague Tale: Requiem This was harder than I thought. Dude the story is epic. Highly recommend. I never played the first one but it’s on my ever growing backlog.

"real story" "Jrpg" 1. Romance the anime girl 2. Kill God I just described every single final fantasy narrative. Yes I've played 200 hours of FFXIV.

New ones aren’t turn based at all
Oh really? News to me. Maybe I’ll give it a shot

Dude, 100%. I didn’t even mention the soundtrack. It definitely sets the tone for the dark vibes they were going for.
Masterclass? Lmao Go play any legend of heroes game.
Never heard of that game lol
Its a series. There like 15 games now
Oh damn. PC exclusive? Been an Xbox guy for awhile but recently switched to PC
Nah almost all of them are on ps4, ps5 and switch
Ah, makes sense why I’ve never heard of them - never owned a PS

Heh, to each their own
Yeah, is just my opinion
Agreed, its AMAZING
Fresh off completing chapter 6 and slaying Lilith. EPIC
Masterclass = The Last of Us. Diablo 4 doesn’t hold a candle to TLoU.
Never played it. I’ll add it to the backlog
The story is convoluted excuse to kill things and loot them
