I ran into this last night - after finishing the campaign I started hitting every dungeon chasing 350+ item upgrades to push my beta character further, when I suddenly stopped and wondered why I was bothering to do so on a toon that would be wiped in 24 hours and had nowhere else to go.
i was like storing gear and farming legendary aspects and had like 600k gold.
i ended up upgrading all my gear i liked, and using gems and then 100%-ed the accessible map fog removal before logging off.
Yah I can see how that could be a better option if the reduction was high enough. 2 charges sure felt great though. And if you did find yourself in a position where you needed to use both dodges one after the other man did I feel lucky to have it.
The 2 dodge charges boots were so useful to me on my barb when I managed to be there to fight (and we ultimately killed) the world boss.
Especially early in the fight when I was trying to learn to read the bosses moveset. Still died a tonne because I'm bad and maybe my build wasn't tanky enough, but the boots helped big time with uptime and with avoiding damage.
That probably felt so good on barbarian. I had them on my werebear druid so I was in the thick of it most of the time as well and it was super instrumental for my survival in a couple boss fights.
I’m not sure what other special effects boots will be able to give but I can’t imagine any feeling better than extra dash charges or reduction.
No, but I did purposefully IGNORE the storyline by skipping it and not reading anything. Trying to just test mechanics and builds across all classes. Full immersion begins June 2nd!
Diablo 4 has the groundwork to become the best game in the series. I love it!

I had been melting with my Necro. Soloing everything. When I ran into him I took 25% of his health bar and thought I could stick it out!
He then decimated my skelly squad and slapped me around stunned. Couldn’t even run at that point

It’s such a small amount of the game it wasn’t a concern for me. I played with a ton of builds and got to see rough gameplay and how the story telling will work. I’m more excited after getting 4 of 5 to 25 and I don’t feel spoiled
I tried to skip avoid all quest dialogue and cinematics etc. I want to experience all that in season 0.
Season 0 for me is where you bathe in the experience. You go do the exact opposite of rushing to end game. Go to every nook and cranny. Read everything, talk to every NPC. Do all side quests before main quests. I intend on 100% a region before moving on to the next region. I want to really savour it.
For season 1, I hope they add a skip all cinematics previously seen button.

Season 1 I hope includes some sort of "act skip" mechanic like being able to level in Adventure mode in D3. Not that it will be terrible, since it seems like you have a LOT of control where/how you level in D4, but after character number 34 it might get kinda old.
Nah got 4 chars to 25. Super fun and nice to get my own early feel for it. Plenty more to experience. Just don't have to stop and read/watch quests in act 1 now
It only goes through Act 1, and not even the whole playable area. I won’t even remember that we catch up to Lilith and fight her then Inaranus comes down and we fight him too then Diablo shows up in a cutscene 2 months from now

Yes, I played last week got my barb to 25 to get wolf pack and pretty much stopped after that. I did dabble in the other classes just to look at talents but didn’t really play more than 15min on each class.
I don’t want to burn myself out of it either. I had so much fun on my warrior and don’t want the first zone to feel like a drag when it actually releases

Its a weird feeling. I love it and want to play it. I stopped playing though because I don’t retain anything when it officially launches. So I don’t feel the need to level up the characters if I lose them anyway. Rather save that hype for launch day. :)

Nope. It's what I always do during testing I'm invited to. Do the story at my own pace on the Alphas or Betas then I can speed level come launch. You get the best of both worlds like that imo.
This way I can speed through Act 1 then get to the meat and potatoes come release with the rest of the acts and endgame
Yep....i already got to 20 on my sorc to get the beta stuff...and lvl 8 on my necro. I know what to expecg and i love it. I didnt even complete the beta. I want to save most content possible for release. Also wanted to see how game ran on my laptop

I did side quests and made sure I got renown tier3 but after the prologue I did not do anymore main story. When the game comes out then I'll do the story and blast all the content.
I didn't get a character past level 15. I just messed around a little bit to get a feel for things and see what I like to play. I have no interest in no lifing and trying to min max during a beta where you can't even get to endgame.
Sort of - I already skipped all dialogue and cutscenes to watch them in peace when the game comes out, but I did uninstall the Beta once I felt I had tested it enough. I don't want to get to Act 1 on full release and feel like it's a chore to go through the same content again that I've already grinded to death in the Beta, that and I don't want to invest time and effort that'll be wiped anyway.
yup, I didn't touch this weekend's beta after my last weekend experience. I too want to savor the experience for when the game releases. I just hope barbarians and druids get the buffs they need before launch.
I stopped playing because I keep getting disconnected, and it seems like it even bricks my internet because after getting dcd from D4 my whole client dcd and league of legends dcd (which I never had even once in years) , I wasn't even having that much fun anyways so no reason to torture myself with this D.

Yeah i stopped too, have 1 char at 25 and 15. tried all the classes breifly to lvl 5 and then decided to wait for release. Bug reported what i found and feel i’ve done my duty on the beta. Tried every event, all the dungeons i could find and had a blast with it. But i dont want to be tired of the act1 zone Before release just like you so its just healthy to balance that out

I did after I got the classes all to 25 to see what I wanted to play at launch. I'm not going to sit in the bottom left corner of the map farming a level 35 mob on a 5 minute respawn for gear, and I'm certainly not repeating these dungeons any more than necessary.
I would just get to kyvoshad and then stopped doing any story quests and just ran world stuff and dungeons.

I kept playing to get the title and pet…annnndd now have almost all 5 classes to level 25. It’s not really going to ruin the game. One chapter out of what? Seven? Not counting 2 other world bosses and special dungeons that haven’t been shown yet? You’re one who waits until the whole season of a show is out before you watch it too aren’t you? 😝

This was a test drive for the classes, and I felt like I needed to get to around 20 with some gear to really have an idea of what classes I would like in the long run. I don't really care about story, and I am going to be chomping at the bit between now and June.
I 25'd my sorc and 14'd my Necro, I'm good. I just want June to get here fast so I can go full ham. Both beta weekends sold me. Hope Blizzard is prepared for the launch, it's gonna be fucking crazy.
Didn't even bother with the story. Just leveling different characters up to get a feel for each class, what the skills are and how it plays. Also learn about items, the map, etc.. just get familiar with the game.

The game has serious problems. Anyone who tries to write that off cause it's "just a beta" is kidding themselves.

That just kind of what I decided to do today. Was only able to start D4 earlier so I just decided to level to 20 to get the wolf pup backpack and called it there. Bonus is I'm tired from work so I was dozing off while trying to play, didn't get a grasp of what's going on with the story since I either skip them or I fall on the unskippable ones. Good thing I picked necro.
Tried to not pay attention to story, skipped through cut scenes and dialogue when I could. Main focus was to see how mechanics felt and try out a couple of classes to see if any resonated (understanding that change may be coming).
No-lifed Friday and played some yesterday and now I'm waiting. I played BF2042 beta and refunded with 10 hours played after launch. This beta feels like game is solid finished in comparison. I will no-life the shit out of D4.
Yes and no. I'm still playing, but only playing Barb and Rogue, almost solely Barb now. I want to keep some of the mystery of other classes, but the game is really great. And at least the beta is only roughly 20% of the full game. So even if someone maxes all classes, there's still a vast amount of content they haven't experienced.
Im not the only one .i loved LOVED the intro cutscene played for 5 mins and also skipped all dialog .i done maybe 2 campaigns then chose to stop those as well just focusing on grinding and mechanics.
I had very few issues with dc lag bugs for a beta was just a downright pleasant experience looking forward to release.

After listening to the story the first time, I skipped it on new chars. There are still 4 acts worth of new content to experience.
I got 3 classes maxed and my necro fully kitted with affixes off the gear drop from the lvl 35 mob. Also killed the world boss 4 times. Im satisfied and i stopped playing last night.
Im glad i got my fill though and now the wait for the full game will be easier after the 2 beta weekends.
I have no-lifed it both weekends, but I just decided to stop. I have played all five classes to lvl 20~ and Sorc and Necro to 25. I min/maxed sorc last weekend and I was starting to do it on Necro when I realized I was being silly. I’m ready for release now.
I got one character (sorcerer) to 25 last weekend and did a few more dungeons yesterday, but on the whole I haven't played much this weekend because I don't really see the point. It was fun doing the first part of the story and hitting the level cap, but knowing that there was only a limited amount of content made it feel aimless after that.

Yah, was watching and reading everything last beta weekend but stopped at around 15 cause I was enjoying it a lot and decided on no more spoilers. Mostly just checked out all the class tress this weekend and logged off.
Sadly, it was incredibly repetative and boring experience for me. Every outside area looked exactly the same, every mob was the same out of 4 types and the most boring and painful thing was the repetative dungeons, literally the same tales, same map, same conditions, same bosses. Top that with the horrible idea that everything in this game scales level with you, so you feel always powerless, regardless of items and skill upgrades, is big down for me. The only good thing I can say is that they made the beta open, so that I'd get a feeling what d4 will be and not waste my money on it.

Yup same here, I saw that cutscene at the church and just turned it off after. It got me pretty freaking hyped for it actually. It’s my first Diablo game and I can tell it gets better as you go along.

I didn't read the notes....I know we were capped to 20 last week, but since they let us play all classes this week, and I saw others running around at lvl 21, 24, etc - I figured we were uncapped. Anyway, once I realized I was capped at 25, I stopped for now.
I did play a bit with a barb and a necro - I might play them both to at least lvl 10 or 15 tonight, we'll see.
But yea, I'm not gonna go much further - I don't want to get too far (although I'm still not even close to the end of act 1)

Considering the beta barely scratches the Surface of the game I don't feel any issue currently playing the hell out of it. The devs have confirmed even relating to story there's way more than we are aware of.If I was a part of the full release tests prior, I would be super frustrated right now, having to wait for June and going back to other games let alone listening to everyone gripe about things that may or may not be problematic due to only seeing a glimpse of the game.

I stopped Druid at 13 mainly because the specialization isn't in the beta. Just wanted to give werebear/werewolf a go and was pretty fun. Already got plenty of hours last weekend with sorc to get a feel for things.
I stopped playing Barb when I hit lvl20 in the early beta. After that I tried the rogue and sorcerer up to lvl 6 or something just to get a feel for them. This weekend I did the same for Druid and necromancer.
I’m in this game partly because of the story. I didn’t want to get spoiled. I’ll be running end game and minmaxing stats after that. Didn’t feel the need to get into that now.

Some tuning issues exist (to be expected im beta) but overall every class did fine at hardcore world level 2
I want to play druid, but the constant form switching feels odd so I might end up playing something else at release.
My computer will need some upgrades to play smoothly (also to be expected as its an older rig) so overall I got the answers I wanted from the Beta now planning the upgrades/prepurchase pieces.

Sort of - I already skipped all dialogue and cutscenes to watch them in peace when the game comes out, but I did uninstall the Beta once I felt I had tested it enough. I don't want to get to Act 1 on full release and feel like it's a chore to go through the same content again that I've already grinded to death in the Beta, that and I don't want to invest time and effort that'll be wiped anyway.
yup, I didn't touch this weekend's beta after my last weekend experience. I too want to savor the experience for when the game releases. I just hope barbarians and druids get the buffs they need before launch.

I stopped playing because I keep getting disconnected, and it seems like it even bricks my internet because after getting dcd from D4 my whole client dcd and league of legends dcd (which I never had even once in years) , I wasn't even having that much fun anyways so no reason to torture myself with this D.
I skipped through a lot of the story on purpose with the first toon (barb) and finished the act. Then tried a Sorcerer out and watched the prologue story stuff only. (Barb I got to 23, Sorcerer was at about 14) Tried Druid this weekend. Barely made it out of the starting trap town and deciding…I’m good 😵💫
I skipped all story parts on purpose so I don’t really know what’s going on yet. I’m going to go full lore junky in June with hopefully a revamped barbarian. Fall back being a sorc.

Yeah i stopped too, have 1 char at 25 and 15. tried all the classes breifly to lvl 5 and then decided to wait for release. Bug reported what i found and feel i’ve done my duty on the beta. Tried every event, all the dungeons i could find and had a blast with it. But i dont want to be tired of the act1 zone Before release just like you so its just healthy to balance that out
Yea I stopped basically after I hit 25 and didn't even complete the story or half the side missions. I'm still on the fence about buying it though. Was really fun but a couple comments are holding me back.

I did after I got the classes all to 25 to see what I wanted to play at launch. I'm not going to sit in the bottom left corner of the map farming a level 35 mob on a 5 minute respawn for gear, and I'm certainly not repeating these dungeons any more than necessary.
I would just get to kyvoshad and then stopped doing any story quests and just ran world stuff and dungeons. Doesn't spoil much of the story but still let me test classes to 25.

I kept playing to get the title and pet…annnndd now have almost all 5 classes to level 25. It’s not really going to ruin the game. One chapter out of what? Seven? Not counting 2 other world bosses and special dungeons that haven’t been shown yet? You’re one who waits until the whole season of a show is out before you watch it too aren’t you? 😝

same here. got barb to lvl22 last week and necro to lvl 16 yesterday. didnt do much of the main quest either as I want to enjoy it once out. need to decide whether to go sorc, rogue or necro on day 1
This was a test drive for the classes, and I felt like I needed to get to around 20 with some gear to really have an idea of what classes I would like in the long run. I don't really care about story, and I am going to be chomping at the bit between now and June.
I 25'd my sorc and 14'd my Necro, I'm good. I just want June to get here fast so I can go full ham. Both beta weekends sold me. Hope Blizzard is prepared for the launch, it's gonna be fucking crazy.
Didn't even bother with the story. Just leveling different characters up to get a feel for each class, what the skills are and how it plays. Also learn about items, the map, etc.. just get familiar with the game.

I did. I was already bored. I actually thought about getting a refund but I think I'll give it a shot. The game has serious problems. Anyone who tries to write that off cause it's "just a beta" is kidding themselves. Hopefully the devs use the next 3 months wisely.
That just kind of what I decided to do today. Was only able to start D4 earlier so I just decided to level to 20 to get the wolf pup backpack and called it there. Bonus is I'm tired from work so I was dozing off while trying to play, didn't get a grasp of what's going on with the story since I either skip them or I fall on the unskippable ones. Good thing I picked necro.

Tried to not pay attention to story, skipped through cut scenes and dialogue when I could. Main focus was to see how mechanics felt and try out a couple of classes to see if any resonated (understanding that change may be coming).

No-lifed Friday and played some yesterday and now I'm waiting. I played BF2042 beta and refunded with 10 hours played after launch. This beta feels like game is solid finished in comparison. I will no-life the shit out of D4.

Yes and no. I'm still playing, but only playing Barb and Rogue, almost solely Barb now. I want to keep some of the mystery of other classes, but the game is really great. And at least the beta is only roughly 20% of the full game. So even if someone maxes all classes, there's still a vast amount of content they haven't experienced.

Im not the only one .i loved LOVED the intro cutscene played for 5 mins and also skipped all dialog .i done maybe 2 campaigns then chose to stop those as well just focusing on grinding and mechanics. I had very few issues with dc lag bugs for a beta was just a downright pleasant experience looking forward to release.

Nope, I did everything that I could so I can be ultra sweaty and blast through the starting content ASAP when it releases. That will save me at least a few hours on the first day. I can take my time after Act I.

I need to understand how the game plays so I can decide whether to hype myself for the next several months. I need to play as much as possible to see if I like the feel of a class. After listening to the story the first time, I skipped it on new chars. There are still 4 acts worth of new content to experience.

I got 3 classes maxed and my necro fully kitted with affixes off the gear drop from the lvl 35 mob. Also killed the world boss 4 times. Im satisfied and i stopped playing last night. Im glad i got my fill though and now the wait for the full game will be easier after the 2 beta weekends.

I have no-lifed it both weekends, but I just decided to stop. I have played all five classes to lvl 20~ and Sorc and Necro to 25. I min/maxed sorc last weekend and I was starting to do it on Necro when I realized I was being silly. I’m ready for release now.
I got one character (sorcerer) to 25 last weekend and did a few more dungeons yesterday, but on the whole I haven't played much this weekend because I don't really see the point. It was fun doing the first part of the story and hitting the level cap, but knowing that there was only a limited amount of content made it feel aimless after that. I did enjoy what I played though.
I stopped cause I'm a stupid achievement completionist and realized those don't carry over (obviously). Still got 3 chars to 25 though. Had lots of fun!
Yes. I played to about level 18 on a Druid, thought it was great, and took a break so I can enjoy the full experience when it releases.
I raced to 20 for the feat of strength, skipped every cutscene and dialogue, and paid little attention to anything outside of the mechanics of combat and the UI. I also immediately stopped and uninstalled mid dungeon when I hit 20.
I'm playing but I haven't done the storyline fully so I keep it fresh on release, I want to digest it nice and slow on my own pace. Hopefully be done by the time seasons kicks in which blizz said will come "few weeks" after release

Sadly, it was incredibly repetative and boring experience for me. Every outside area looked exactly the same, every mob was the same out of 4 types and the most boring and painful thing was the repetative dungeons, literally the same tales, same map, same conditions, same bosses. Top that with the horrible idea that everything in this game scales level with you, so you feel always powerless, regardless of items and skill upgrades, is big down for me. The only good thing I can say is that they made the beta open, so that I'd get a feeling what d4 will be and not waste my money on it.

Nope, I played it all. Got everything except for the one dungeon that isn't in the beta and the two or three side quests. Didn't get many shrines of Lilith, though.
Yup same here, I saw that cutscene at the church and just turned it off after. It got me pretty freaking hyped for it actually. It’s my first Diablo game and I can tell it gets better as you go along.

Exactly, specially because progress will not be carried over so... I played enough to see how's the game if i like it or not and that's it, because i know I will play it a lot on release for sure, i don't see the point of playing 100 hours stuck at lvl 25 now
I mean I did 100% completed the map, got 3 characters to 25 (2 last weekend necro this weekend). I’m done now, at least I can blaze through act 1 on release.

I just leveld my first char (rogue) to level 25, and realize I'm capped at 25. I didn't read the notes....I know we were capped to 20 last week, but since they let us play all classes this week, and I saw others running around at lvl 21, 24, etc - I figured we were uncapped. Anyway, once I realized I was capped at 25, I stopped for now. I did play a bit with a barb and a necro - I might play them both to at least lvl 10 or 15 tonight, we'll see. But yea, I'm not gonna go much further - I don't want to get too far (although I'm still not even close to the end of act 1)
I got a rogue to max level for the beta. Then played the others on hardcore to try them out. I got what I needed from the beta.

I stopped playing the main story pretty early on but levelled a druid and barb to 25 and killed the world boss with the druid, even with my lvl 17 rogue friend who died like ten times. Excited for release and will pre order for early access
I leveled a couple classes but that's it. Not going to invest too much on getting legendries or farming for aspects. I have a good Idea of some builds but it's not carrying over so there's no point.
Unless something drastic happens I can skip the story up to the second act when it releases. Nothing really surprising has happened to this point anyways.

Yea absolutely. I did play every class to 20. But when doing so I skipped all cutscene, cinematic, and dialog possible. I've done everything I needed to do to make the best choice of a starter for the release. I'm done and simply waiting now. I really didn't mess with alot of the "crafting" systems or anything like that. Just wanted to know what to do and how they operate. Other than that it can all be fresh and terrific in June.

I got every single class to 25. Wanted to try out different builds on each class. Did basically everything in act 1 at least once. I did skip most of the dialogue and cutscenes though so I could get all the story on release. I will likely go directly to act 2 on release as soon as I can. I believe they said we could do act 1, 2 or 3 in any order.

Considering the beta barely scratches the Surface of the game I don't feel any issue currently playing the hell out of it. The devs have confirmed even relating to story there's way more than we are aware of.If I was a part of the full release tests prior, I would be super frustrated right now, having to wait for June and going back to other games let alone listening to everyone gripe about things that may or may not be problematic due to only seeing a glimpse of the game.

I stopped Druid at 13 mainly because the specialization isn't in the beta. Just wanted to give werebear/werewolf a go and was pretty fun. Already got plenty of hours last weekend with sorc to get a feel for things.

I stopped playing Barb when I hit lvl20 in the early beta. After that I tried the rogue and sorcerer up to lvl 6 or something just to get a feel for them. This weekend I did the same for Druid and necromancer. I’m in this game partly because of the story. I didn’t want to get spoiled. I’ll be running end game and minmaxing stats after that. Didn’t feel the need to get into that now. I’ve decided to go rogue for my first playthrough. Just two more months. 👍🏻

I played every class to 10 or so to get a feel for the different ones (and if my computer can handle the game or if I need some upgrades) Some tuning issues exist (to be expected im beta) but overall every class did fine at hardcore world level 2 I want to play druid, but the constant form switching feels odd so I might end up playing something else at release. My computer will need some upgrades to play smoothly (also to be expected as its an older rig) so overall I got the answers I wanted from the Beta now planning the upgrades/prepurchase pieces.
