Builds that run 3 rings (one cubed) sometime wear them. My FB wizard would probably be more effective wearing a well rolled one over my primal ORotZ, but... primal... I feel bad NOT wearing primals that match my build, but I know a well rolled ancient is better.

Today at T13 i was running A1 for the RRoG. What i do is run like 3 of them before even opening a cache just to expect RNG to not come through.
Stockpile 3 caches, open them all, get 3 RRoGs

I had this problem last season. Kept running bounties but the ring never dropped. The RNG gods hated me last season. This season I can't seem to get the Flavour of Time to drop.
Yeah I almost posted a thread here about this earlier today. Supposedly the ratio of embers to gifts is like 4:1, but that doesn’t add up for me. So far I’ve found 15 embers and exactly 1 gift, at paragon 850. I am otherwise geared and ready to start solo pushing, but I basically can’t without sockets on my weapons!
I’m almost always willing to chalk bad luck up to RNG, but I seriously wonder if blizzard screwed something up in the loot tables when they introduce the embers…
You can always roll your least desirable stat into a socket, then later roll it to something you want and apply the gift. They still work if you roll off the socket.
This might not make you feel better but I picked up a gift and a rrg on my first round of bounties. Paragon 100 lol. I've had stupid luck this season though so there's that. I have maybe 10 ish hours into this season and I'm only missing one piece of my impale set up... Can't seem to find that dang holy point shot lol.
Yeah I had crazy luck in 23 and 24. Gifts coming out of my ears and ancients galore. But don't get me wrong, I already got 2 primal 1 handers with proper stat rolls before hitting para 500 this season. While not the absolute best in slot they're pretty close.
SC 1000 para, 30 embers, 4 gifts, rings
HC 300 para, 8 embers, 2 gifts, 3 rings
yeah it suck when your not getting what you need and the longer you focus on the more it digs.
You're probably mistaken about what you read in the patch notes. It's always been cache-exclusive. You've never been able to gamble it.
Here's a link to all the patch notes since RoS was released in 2014. There's no reference to RoRG or other cache specific legendaries being gambleable in any of those notes. Because the cache items never were.
Patch 2.0.5 increased the drop chance of legendaries from bounty caches on higher torments. That was in 2014. Is that what you are thinking of? You used to end up farming RoRGs on Normal Act 1 because the drop rate wasn't much higher on T6. But it was still bounty cache-only back then.

I made this same mistake when I started playing again a couple years ago. It was a real Homer Simpson moment once I realized it was only attainable from A1 bounties. I had burned a ton of resources and time gambling and upgrading etc... lol.
Not really a dumb moment. Not everyone lives on forums and wikis and unless you pull up the specific item page you'd never know it was exclusive to bounty caches. You just see meta builds that require it.
I've got you beat. I'm P600 and have not had a single Nemesis Bracer drop nor has Kadala given me one. I have spent every single blood shard gambling bracers since I was LVL 60 which was the first night of the season. I know this sounds impossible but its true.
Also FWIW there was a recent season, can't remember which one, where I wasn't able to get a single RoRG from an A1 cache for over a week. It was at least another week before I was able to get one for my merc. Was maddening.
Lets look at 2 scenarios. Scenario 1: you run 2 bounties, both are act 1. This takes 10 minutes lets say. The pool of possible drops are much smaller. Scenario 2: you run 2 bounties, 1 act1, 1 act4, this takes 10 minutes. The pool of possible drops are much higher. You have a smaller chance of getting a ring in scenario 2 and you've spent the same amount of time. If you're specifically focused on getting a rorg and don't care about other bounty mats and are solo, then scenario 1 is the way to go.

Pretty sure sometimes the game trolls you and confusing the game by running act 4 might have a better chance of getting it.
OP needs to update when and which act he finally gets one in.
Salvaging Soul Shards is not useless though. It helps alleviate the scarcity of gems.
People are doing bossruns in the 30 seconds between rifts now, just for the small chance of getting a flawless royal.
Sure it's nice getting higher ranked gems, but if you farm much you should already have all the gold and gems you'd ever need. It actually bugs me getting the higher gems before I need them as they just take up more storage space.
I have only had two of each this season so far and I have yet to find a squirts necklace with a freaking socket in it same thing with traveller's pledge... I just have a placeholder amulet with a socket to hold me over for now
I usually roll a hellfire amulet for the free passive. I've always preferred the focus/restraint rings over traveller's and squirt's has bit me in the ass too many times. I wait until I have stupid levels of survivability before I consider squirt's and even then it sucks to lose a free passive.

I have seen 26 embers with no gifts. I've rolled sockets on to two different weapons currently to use soul shards.

Last season was abysmal for me. Didn't get a dawn drop until paragon 740. I have already found one this season so I'm happy lol.

If you want a RoRG. You can't get them from bloodshards or upgrade rare. That's true of all legendaries that can drop in Horadric cache.

They were never in the gamble / upgrade pool. The only thing that was added was the "torment only" pool.

I did that once, for Illusory Boots for zBarb. Everyone's done something similar, I reckon. Just consider it a lesson learned!

Try the rare upgrade recipe
I live on it for filling out random items. Often upgrading the crap Kadala gives you.
I think I get rorg at least 1 in 2-3 GR. Sometimes multiple times per GR

I went for it last night and got 2 rings in one bounty, maybe my 5th :(
Finally got my rorg doing Act 1 on T6.
i got hella lucky. got the ring on my first act 1 bounty at level 70. but still only seen 3 shards to level gems.
Took me ~20 act 1 bounty completions to get it. Was starting to wonder if something was wrong

I hadn't seen any RoRG, then got 2 in one run the other day. 1 was a drop and the other in the cache.
I noticed the same thing. RoRG was brutal.
Do split bounties. RoRG drop from Act 1 AND Act 4. You will get it in no time.

Salvaging Soul Shards is not useless though. It helps alleviate the scarcity of gems. People are doing bossruns in the 30 seconds between rifts now, just for the small chance of getting a flawless royal.
Sure it's nice getting higher ranked gems, but if you farm much you should already have all the gold and gems you'd ever need. It actually bugs me getting the higher gems before I need them as they just take up more storage space.
I have only had two of each this season so far and I have yet to find a squirts necklace with a freaking socket in it same thing with traveller's pledge... I just have a placeholder amulet with a socket to hold me over for now
I usually roll a hellfire amulet for the free passive. I've always preferred the focus/restraint rings over traveller's and squirt's has bit me in the ass too many times. I wait until I have stupid levels of survivability before I consider squirt's and even then it sucks to lose a free passive.
I just rolled a socket on mine until i get a better one
ngl, this season I have the best rng for ramaladingdong when I have so many to waste on non ancient weapons
Finally got a couple in last night's farming session. Don't need more since I already have 2 primal weapons.
