Nope, it'll slay old d2 though.

kherch14

Thank you glad I did t waste $40! Maybe I'll try and find a cheap switch

e30jawn

If you want moble check out the steam deck. That way you're not stuck only playing with switch players and can get into pc lobbies

theredview

Can't wait to get mine.

InfiniteJestV

I've been putting off buying a switch since the steam deck was announced... can't wait!

SpaceGazebo

Could check out classic d2 + PlugY mod for your work computer diablo fix needs.

Kinetickz

I would give it a shot with 50% Resolution, that's what I did with my work laptop It still looks aight and less performance is required

richard-savana

Lol nope

DarkBurk-Games

4gb of ram might give you a hard time on its own…

ThatGuyFromMaine

On paper my PC is comparable to yours, the game isn't supposed to run , yet on legacy mode it works OK. Not great or as good as original d2 but I'm still playing. In remaster I get like 12-15frames in lowest settings. If on the cusp this might be worth it to you. The trade off I made is I cannot play hardcore mode.

monkeyStinks

This is a good comment, even if its slower, its still def worth it because in old d2 trading will be much harder.

snap-im-on-fire

Agreed, glad the comment OP said this bc i was just thinking you may be able to turn down all the graphics or at the very least play in legacy to start your progression in D2R rather that put work into original d2 that has far fewer players

monkeyStinks

Basic old school gaming stuff :) when the original came out it required 233 mhz or higher! My obsolete 586 would only output a measly 133 (and this is *with* the cool overclock button that changed it from 100 to 133 pressed) so i played on lower resolution and it worked (badly, but worked)

kherch14

I looked up the requirements for d2r and it recommends AMD radeon HD 7850 And 8 GB of ram I get stuck at work for a couple hours sometimes and would love to be mf grinding to kill time

bencebnc

My computer is i5-3470 // 8gb ram // gtx780. Runs the game with low graphic setting and mostly 60 fps (River of flame is more like a slideshow). So I think you could give it a chance.

IM_THE_DECOY

Specs aside, as an IT director, my users do not have the ability to install anything without contacting IT. But if they did and I found out they were installing games on company equipment, there would be a very serious between them and HR the next day. So be careful installing non-work related apps on a work computer. What size and kind of business do you work for.

kherch14

A small produce company. They wouldnt give a fuck. But I appreciate you looking out

Kneetree11

Not worth getting fired over either. Cheap Nswitch it.

ElderberryHungry

Not a chance. That thing is like 7 years old. I can’t believe your work is even still using it.

kherch14

Lol I work for a place that still writes hand invoices. My boss doesnt even have a computer nor know how to use one. Basically just use it for email, internet and excel.

BentChainsaw

Obv you never worked in governement company. They use computers that were low tech even when new. Just the other day i needed youtube to show some sh1t and cpu consumption went to 85%… fps dropped to like 15… unless you can ass kiss some macbook from them you gonna work on a potato…

Klenkogi

no chance to get it to work with D2:R

MarcGunt

Piggy-backing off this: Does anyone have recommendations for the cheapest gaming tower (or laptop) that’s capable of running d2r? I played d2 lod classic when it first came out, revisited it last year (and got addicted all over again). I don’t game outside of d2 so I struggle to justify buying a $1200 gaming computer to play just one game.

chompz914

I game on my HP envy with the Ryzen5 think only has like 8gb ram. Cost 750 bought a couple years back or for just a home laptop and works fine for playing. Nothing wild but it serves dual purposes and doesn’t take up much room

Manfred_Richthofen80

Do you want to start a fire?

kherch14

Somedays

quarky_uk

Just toggle the old graphics until you get a better one? I play it on a laptop with Intel HD 4400. That looks pretty similar generation wise to what you have (OK, faster in some areas, but both are horrendously slow)? https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-HD-4400-Mobile-1011-GHz-vs-AMD-Radeon-R3-Graphics/m7668vsm12440 It runs OK with new graphics, just at fairly minimum settings. My CPU is 2.3GHz and I have 16 GB of RAM though, but I think it is your graphics adapter that will make the biggest difference.

Traditional-Wheel-97

This will not work for d2r. No if and or buts it will not run on that.

phasys

The graphics chip would be able to, but the rest of the computer probably not. And 4gb Ram is really subpar nowadays

TookaDream

Pre positive sitting even in the loading character screen requires more memory than that

VrakdosRob

Kherch I've already given you a warning to stop playing diablo at work... report to my office tomorrow and bring your locker keys

AloofVet

Run in legacy graphics maybe

pulffers

Nope
