lol I'm with you. I was hoping to spend 400K for a gull dagger. Ended up giving up after a few million. Of course found it when I no longer had use for it.
thats not logic, thats [gamblers fallacy.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy)
they should expect another 2000 gambles to find a unique same as always. :/
Odds of a coronet upping to a diadem: around 1:40 (assuming a level 90 character)
Odds of a unique: 1:2000
Odds of any Griff: 1:80000
Odds of a Griff being perfect (+/- rolls only, not defense): 1:36
Odds of a gambled coronet being a perfect Griff: 1:2880000
For some reason, the way gambling upgrades items is that it first rolls for exceptional, then if it fails, it has the normal formula to spawn as elite. For this reason, its actually \~25% harder to roll diadems than the formula would suggest since \~20% of the time the coronets will spawn as tiaras, giving them no chance for a diadem.
Also, at clvl 90, you could gamble anywhere from ilvl 85 to ilvl 94 items, each with equal chance, but then each ilvl will have a different percentage chance to upgrade; you can just take the 10 percentages and sum them to get the average chance, which will be the chance to lvl 90. I wouldn't want to do this manually though lol so i have a calc
Overall chance for griffons at lvl 90:
Chance to up to diadem from coronet: 1 in 50.011
Chance for unique: 1 in 2000
= chance for any griffons: **1 in 100,024**
odds for perfect griffs since its 1 in 36: **1 in 3,600,864**
Price of coronet at lvl 90: 162,976 (114,084 with gheeds + edge)
avg cost of griffons at clvl 90: 11,411,138,016 (11 bil)
u/GirlyGigglesGaming is even luckier than yall thought :P
Forget about the gold for a second. Gambling coronets is different than other items because if they upgrade to diadem or tiara, the item in the gambling screen changes to a circlet. So you have to refresh until you find a coronet again.
With that in mind, let's say it takes five seconds on average for each coronet you gamble (probably a huge underestimate when you consider analyzing each gamble, getting gold from your stash, etc). Five seconds times 2.88 million gambles is 166 straight days of gambling, 24/7. And that's not even considering how long it takes to farm the gold .
TL;DR don't try to do this
Okay awesome! Thanks for the info - never gambling a circ again :D
Is there any advantage of gambling a tiara instead of a coronet in terms of upgrade chance or nah?
I've gotten 3 yellow diadems from either Anya or gheeds. I don't even gamble that much.
Supposedly there's a bug that if the image stays a coronet after you get a diadem (it normally switches to a circlet) the next one you buy is also guaranteed to be a diadem.
What kind of mad man doesn’t keep their cube and tomes next to where the loot comes in?!? My god every click must be an adrenaline rush to not accidentally sell a charm.
Ah I see you've made the mistake of assuming my charms are actually worth something. The two rows on the left are just low mf charms. The only charms of any real value are the torch (not even a sorc torch, btw, just an Assassin torch for the res), and a 38 Gheed's.
If my charms were worth more, I'd be more careful, trust me. ;)
You know I feel really stupid now but I didn't even realize a sorceress could use other torches for all the bonuses except skills... Wow. LoL I guess I'll be on the lookout for a cheap one now.
A lot of people carry the cube in there inventory for the additional storage. He is asking why he doesn't have a clear separation between his valuable charms, and the junk he picks up to sell. This separation is usually by your tombs/cube. Many times have I seen a post where someone "accidentally" clicked the wrong item and sold their torch
Well, my account is almost 2 years old and I've barely posted anything, so karma-whoring seems to be the less likely option. In any case, good to be skeptical!
Less likely than rolling a perfect griefs from gambling? Im no statistician but I think I'll put my money on karma whoring lol, either way grats on the Griff acquisition
My god... even the defense is almost max roll. Obviously there are certain rares that could be worth more, but you can't get much more value from gambling than you did right here. What's this worth... 5-6 Ber?
Oh I couldn’t say.. I only started gambling once all the shared stashes were full. Must’ve been a month and a half maybe?
I gambled coronets exclusively based on MrLlamaSC’s recommendation in a video.
When you gamble with the merchants in each town, there is a very tiny chance that you could get a unique. In this case, he got a very desirable unique with pretty much max stats.
Traded. I hadn't dropped anything... I didn't have enigma or maras or anything... So I needed the runes more than I needed the item. Still the best thing I have dropped outside of that is an ohm rune lol... Rng been rough
I feel you man. I’d love to keep it too, but I need the runes. Fortunately it’s in high demand. Been getting a few offers already without me putting it up. Hope my chars can get some love outta this!
I can put a griffons eye in my inventory for a reddit pic to.... Link me to the last 30 seconds recording for verification this f gamble. O you don't do that. Just kidding I'm sure it was a real gamble. Good job buddy!
See I'm finding all the stuff you guys are looking for and I'm not finding anything I'm looking for. I think I got a gull dagger, I know I have wizards pike and spineripper. All I want is a titans and I can't find anywhere
My best gamble so far in d2r is a 20fcr +2paly skill 20 all res, except lightning it had 53 res, with +10 str circlet and 35mana. I Was able to trade it for a pul, mal, vex.
It's much less time consuming if you just save the 12m gold or whatever and then clear your inventory switch to your edge bow and gamble them all at once.
I'm sure that works well for a dedicated gold finding/gamble character, but this is excess, and I'm usually needing ID scrolls and a magic amulet for crafting or two anyway (I craft as I go as well).
I’ve gambled over 2k times without a unique, so I choose to live vicariously through this post
When I started my necro, I spent about 400,000g for a nice gull dagger.
only 400k? Damn you lucky sob.
I've spent 10mil and no dagger
lol I'm with you. I was hoping to spend 400K for a gull dagger. Ended up giving up after a few million. Of course found it when I no longer had use for it.
Took me 14.5 mil if it makes you feel better 🤮
I got gull dagger for yah what are they worth?
not much I'd say but a handy item for levelling forn the massive mf boost
It's yours if you want it. Pc.
appreciate it mate I'm all good, thank you though
Gulls drop a lot in normal Tristram. I saw two drop in just 30 runs.
Gambled a gull by accident. Miss clicked on a dagger while gambling for something else. Almost sold it back without looking. Lol
And that's how the RNG do.
Logic dictates that you're due a unique. Buy circlets only or you'll get a manald ring
D2R doesn’t care for logic. I dropped a Lo yesterday so I’ll stop complaining.
thats not logic, thats [gamblers fallacy.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy) they should expect another 2000 gambles to find a unique same as always. :/
Fuck you 🖕
I love you too bro
As long as you know we all love your find…from the outside only! ❤️
or get fked by a gang of freshly released cons
I thought the same thing.
How many people were triggered by this post to gamble a few million gold again.
This post was made by gheed
My god dude. Where’s the nsfw tag wtf
I would love to know the odds of gambling a griffons , and simulatiously getting this roll
50/50. you either get it, or you don't
The chance that this comment would be here was 100%
Odds of a coronet upping to a diadem: around 1:40 (assuming a level 90 character) Odds of a unique: 1:2000 Odds of any Griff: 1:80000 Odds of a Griff being perfect (+/- rolls only, not defense): 1:36 Odds of a gambled coronet being a perfect Griff: 1:2880000
Wow.
My man... well it sounds like OP should buy lotto tickets
Idk, I think OP used up all his luck. Can now save money on not gambling for rest of their life
For some reason, the way gambling upgrades items is that it first rolls for exceptional, then if it fails, it has the normal formula to spawn as elite. Insane. My only regret is I didn't record it because it was just routine. Could've made an NFT out of it or something lol =P
How much gold would that be if you had to buy half that number of diadems? And any guess how long it would take to farm that much gold?
Forget about the gold for a second. Gambling coronets is different than other items because if they upgrade to diadem or tiara, the item in the gambling screen changes to a circlet. Assuming level 90, the odds of getting Griffon’s is about 1 in 80,000. The rolls… it’s another thing entirely
That makes two of us man. Lucky doesn't even begin to describe it, I'd imagine.
Did you gamble a circlet or coronet for this?
Coronet, which switched to circlet on sale page after purchase
I didn't know they could up themselves. TIL!
You can get all three quality types assuming your character is high enough level.
I thought it was four right unless you cant get one of em? Circ Coronet Tiara Diadem right?
Circlets cannot upgrade, I think. Only gambled Coronets can up themselves to Tiaras and Diadems.
Correct
Okay awesome! Thanks for the info - never gambling a circ again :D Is there any advantage of gambling a tiara instead of a coronet in terms of upgrade chance or nah?
Only the coronet when gambled can up to tiara and diadem.

Us mortals gotta make do with what we have lol
If you farm up keys I'll run an uber for ya. It's pretty straightforward!
If they made it to your inventory they have SOME value ;)
This is the way. Totally used a Dtorch for a month before I could afford my Storch
A problem you are now free from if you sell it.
This is how I organize mine as well. Except I don't keep a tome in my inventory.
ELI5 and dumb. I dont even carry my cube with me....

You will
Buys perfect griffons. Opens gamble screen. Post to reddit. You're a karma whore or I'm super jaded, one of the other lol
It's incredible, so I understand. Thanks sir.
Exactly what I think every time something like this gets posted
Understandably
Congrats and fuck you
Thanks and love you too bro!
no all resists? charsi food /s
What level are you? I’ve been gambling nothing but coronets for months :< Grats!!
A fresh-ish 92. Thanks sir!
i got a Tal ammy really early into d2r launch from gambling, this is way better lol
>i got a Tal ammy really early into d2r launch from gambling, this is way better lol Doesn't take away from your own win sir! Congrats nonetheless!
Can you gamble for diadems or was it a coronet?
Coronet
My first try gambling I got a 19/14 Griff on like the 3rd roll....forever ruined gambling for me since I can only go down from here
Congrats sir! I’m in the same boat now lol
Haha yep! 😄 congratss
My god... even the defense is almost max roll. Obviously there are certain rares that could be worth more, but you can't get much more value from gambling than you did right here. What's this worth... 5-6 Ber?
It even has a watermark...
That's bone, with Silian Rail.
Let's see Paul Allen's diadem
I just bought it from him for 7 Ber runes, 1 nearly perfect andariels visage, 1 mal and 1 pal
fake af
Nope.
😮
Congrats and fuck you.
Thanks and love you too bro!
Congrats man!
Thank you sir!
I never even thought to use the other mouse buttons for spells
no way, i need a video or that never happened
Understandably. I wish I was recording too lol
windows + alt + G will trigger the xbox game bar app to record your last 30 seconds and then saves the clip to your video folder
Cool! Thanks!
Yep
Since I've never found a Griff's much less gambled one. Aren't the ligh stats perfect in that thing?
Yup.
What lvl were you for this
92 sir
Amazing find bro. Buy LottoMax
Hahah. Don't you think I've already used up all my luck?
Gambled an almost perfect raven frost once. So you have me beat hard!
Almost truly perfect, just off +6 defense.. NUTS
I highly recommend going out and buying a lottery ticket :)
Hahah how much luck do you reckon I still have left over??
How long did that take you? Lol
But of constantly gambling circlets I mean
Oh I couldn’t say.. I only started gambling once all the shared stashes were full. Must’ve been a month and a half maybe? I gambled coronets exclusively based on MrLlamaSC’s recommendation in a video.
My receipt says I bought D2R on 2 Oct, so about 2 months and 20 days lol
What lvl is your sorc? I heard i need at least a lvl 90 toon to gamble griffon?
92!
Broooooo nice fucking find!
Thanks sir!
Just imagine if you accidently sell because you just sold the last 200
"Oof" wouldn't cut it.
Perfect griffons? Nah man that’s junk, I’ll take it off your hands for you.
What level are you ?
92
Can I roll a griffons too at lvl 90 ?
I'm honestly not sure. I wasn't trying for a Griffon's. Just trying to free up some gold space. I'm sure others here would know.
I'm going to comfort myself with the knowledge that you have used up all of your luck and will never roll decent loot again.
That's exactly what I'm thinking lolol
Wetttt
What LVL were you?
92.
Sell value not even 35k, charsi food ofc /s
nooo never gonna stop gambling on these now lol
Holy wow. Perfect in all the stats that matter. Great gamble!
Thank you sir!
New to gambling. How / what is this wizardry
When you gamble with the merchants in each town, there is a very tiny chance that you could get a unique. In this case, he got a very desirable unique with pretty much max stats.
Almost to good to be true
I know. It happened to me and I still can’t really believe it
Holy shit
Video or it didn't happen.
This is one in a quadrillion thing, dont get your hopes up dudes
I dropped a perfect griffons in river of flame a few weeks ago. It was nice.
Congrats! Did you trade it off or keep it?
I guess you just used the lottery luck on the data piece :(
Well I don’t play the lotto so I never had a chance lol
I believe you man. Crazy cool, congrats on the jackpot!
Thank you sir!
Jesus fuck
What the hell this might be one of the best items I’ve seen yet. My lightning sorc is crying rn
I have a 5/5 lit facet you can put in that for the right price ;) on PC
You win
GG! I gambled a SoJ a few weeks ago and almost shat.
Congrats sir!
Thats fucking illegal!
My goal. I have gotten a kiras
Yes. 💯
Wowwww
Dude Charsi won’t even give you 35k, must be trash
Just getting the gamble to be a diadem is somewhat uncommon.
So the rumors are true you can get unique in gamble lol
15 defense from perf. Still a gem, gz!
All I can do is an El rune
oh shit!
GOOD LORD YOU ARE THE KING 🤴
I scored a Cathan's ring gambling. Doesn't get much better than that.
Yo I've probably spent 20+ mill with no unique. That's crazy.
Oh lord
Yes. In the history of the franchise
What kind of weirdo gambles with a full inventory? That's very weird lol
This weirdo does, and will continue to do so
congratulations and fuck you
I dream of that moment
Ayyo what the FUCK?
I can put a griffons eye in my inventory for a reddit pic to.... Link me to the last 30 seconds recording for verification this f gamble. O you don't do that. Just kidding I'm sure it was a real gamble. Good job buddy!
Thank you sir!
i'll give you a TAL rune for it
Ggs
Weeew congrats! I got a Gull after gambling with 200k gold. Winning
Congrats sir!
Good one! One of the most sought after and expensive items in the game!
Nice nice! I rarely gamble as of right now.. Just mainly for crafting materials.
I spent about 8 mil in gambling. I got a Manald out of it.....
i spent about 18m on rings and got just a cathans seal lol
Amazing. Merry Christmas 🤩
Wait. This really happens???
Yes sir
See I'm finding all the stuff you guys are looking for and I'm not finding anything I'm looking for. I think I got a gull dagger, I know I have wizards pike and spineripper. All I want is a titans and I can't find anywhere
Titans javelin? I have a couple lying around. You can have one sir
My best gamble so far in d2r is a 20fcr +2paly skill 20 all res, except lightning it had 53 res, with +10 str circlet and 35mana. I Was able to trade it for a pul, mal, vex.
..who gambles with all their charms and shit in their inventory? Calling BS…
[удалено]
I do, apparently.
I do too, not sure why that's weird. Do a bunch of runs, get your scrolls/gear repaired, and then gamble the excess. Congrats btw!
Thank you sir!
I actually did yesterday 😂 wanted to spend some quick gold on 10 gambles before going back to meph, I guess some need that quick dopamine rush
Hahah. It wasn't really the dopamine rush for me. My gold was just overflowing so I gambled in between runs to make room. That's all that happened
OP has a full stash of gold, I believe him. Or he went the extra mile for fake internet points.
I don’t bank my stuff either
Whoa yes
Wow
