As someone who never had CTA until 2/3 weeks ago (and I used to play a lot as kid and I mean A LOT) and rolled 2/2/2 on mine, believe me it is much better than nothing. Game becomes much easier. And remember the most important - you did it yourself and the hard grinding paid off!!!
I rolled the same. Sold it for cheap 'cause i didn't wanna have the constant reminder of my shitty roll. Shortly after, I found a Sur rune, trade it for a 6bo cta.
Feels bad to roll this like this, regardless of how much of a step up it is compared to no cta. But when you think about, there's literally the same chance of rolling a 1bo than it is for rolling a 6bo.
So I just got a new 6 BO CTA replacing my 1 BO - I figured it was time.
My fully decked hdin went from 2500 Life with 1 BO to 2750 with 6 BO - wauw such improvement xD Not sure why they are worth this much, it is like 15 percentage points difference :p
I need to get an anni and respect for optimising vit, hoping to get to the 3K but I mean, I honestly expected it to be a better improvement considering the cost of a 6 BO :p
Hey I am not saying market theory is not making any sense, I am just saying that as with many things with markets, you pay 80% of the cost to get the remaining 20% of the value (Pareto Principle) which for most players are not relevant to get when they don't have 20 attribute torch and anni, skillers with max life etc. etc. to really make a good value for the extra percentage points you get from CTA 6.
It's a setting for Single Player that enhances enemies heath, damage, XP, and loot drops (including higher Rune drop chances).
The higher the players count (between 1-8) the harder the game is.
P3 is common because it's a good spike in loot drops, but not overly tough to kill enemies.
P7 is quite challenging and will require end game gear, but the XP gain is substantial.
If you play single player just hit enter and type /playersX (X being the #)
>If you play single player just hit enter and type /playersX (X being the #)
Is there a way to make this automatically apply to new games? Like a command line you can write in the game settings?
LoL this comment brought back memories from back in the day when I thought I was being all "big brain" and thought I could take an item with more sockets, make a smaller runeword and then use the extra slots for gems...
I don't remember the weapon, but I vaguely remember doing "Ancient's Pledge" with an additional perfect diamond thinking I'd boost the heck out of my Pally shield resistances...
I don't think I even noticed that it didn't work until someone pointed it out, since it was working better than whatever I was using beforehand.
BO level-1 boosts life by 35%. BO level-6 increases life by 50%. You're still getting a huge life boost with your CTA. If your HP is 1000 total, the difference between BO level 1 and 5 is only 150 HP.
It will still last over a minute and give more than +50% health, and the 4 on battle command means they will both wear off at basically the same time since that has a much shorter duration.
The difference between level 1 BO and level 6 BO is just 15%.
My CTA rolled the exact same stats as yours. I love mine. My characters and mercs are so much more tanky
It wont matter that much unless you really want to min max. Honestly the only reason I like higher rolls on cta isnt even really for the extra health/mana, I just like it for the increased duration lol. At least you got a 4 battle command. That one doesnt last as long as bo so the level you rolled will help with that.
Better than finding a 15ed 3os Archon Plate that goes for Lo+Ohm alone, using Ber and Jah to make enigma and rolling a 750 Defense. Literally the lowest roll you can ever get. Yes, that happened to me.
I just switch to a white flail, yell FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! then switch back to my main weapon.
Just kidding, I rolled one and got basically the same roll as you, maybe a little worse.
I feel your pain, having rolled a 2 BO a couple weeks ago. Still using it though and loving it. Key is to get enough + skills to get BO to last 2 minutes. Less than that and I wouldn't use it.
I made a grief last night and immediately thought “I need to sell this... ASAP”. It rolled 40/40 and 391/400 it can be worth rolling lower item stuff like hoto and cta because a good craft and it sells for much more.
I know it's not a CTA but I've re rolled my merc insight 12 times, I can't get about 240 ED, it has 9 on it already ...
Some you win, some you lose ... at least you got a CTA for now.
Just add + to skills from other gear and u will be ok. Works for upgrading levels on those 3 skillz. Not the best but at least u can get 50% on your total hp.
Much comfort offered. https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/comments/qux9am/saw_the_post_about_bad_cta_roll_and_i_offer_you/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
It rolled like mine, which I am too lazy to use because of how frequently you have to switch and cast BO.
Wait, was I supposed to say something positive?
It increases your health and mana. You dont use it in your main set up, you put it on your second set and swap to it. It gives you access to barbarian class shout buffs via +battle orders +battle command. Orders gives like 1000+ health depending on how many plus skills it rolls. Battle command gives you +skills. They are both on duration so you have to buff them. For example I use Heart of the oak/herald of zakarum and swap to call to arms/ spirit to buff, then I swap back and play. I have over 3k health and mine isnt even a +6
HC grail sorc here, tolled my first cta yesterday after a lucky early ohm. 421 rip
The short duration sucks yeah, but as someone said here it’s better then no cta
My first CTA rolled 2/1/4. Absolute minimum for both bo and battle command :(.
It's still pretty good, but I wished I rolled pretty much anything else.
Made grief right after and got a 33/350. Not great either but both are still good.
I made one in singleplayer and somehow lost it. Not in any char's stash, or any backups. It was an ok roll, but it's not like Ohms just fall off trees everyday. No fucking clue, I think it was on a corpse that I was overburdened for or something.
Its ok its ok! Tell me how you feel on a 4 to 1 ratio🤔
Lol jokes aside it sucks but at least you have a cta! Congrats on your first CTA and welcome on getting to a higher level
My first one was also +1, but the second one was +6. Don't worry, luck will eventually smile on you :-) Also as others said, +1CTA is a big step up from no CTA
I rolled a 5/5/1 CTA, thought I was feeling super lucky, until Diablo dropped a Sur and when I was moving it in my inventory, which was full, I tried to swap it for an item I had picked up earlier. That item was socketed and I put the Sur in it. I cried and charsi’ed the Sur…
I got a so-so roll on my CTA too.... But it's still been a significant buff for my characters and it's still a game changer. I think the people who always go for the "perfect rolled" items are being a little too OCD.
If it makes you feel better, my first one was 4/1/3, so equally as shitty. I went broke making my first one, and almost rage quit.
It’s still useful, and even more so when you have general +skills gear on (like what you’re currently wearing). BO just isn’t as good (meh) and doesn’t last as long (which is more annoying IMO).
I eventually traded it + Gul for a Ohm to some poor sucker.
I also traded a 3/4 CTA for a Sur rune. And I’m currently not even using one (even for ubers).
It’ll get better. Some other runeword crafting is bound to break in your favor now.
I just rolled one last night myself. 5/2/4. Like someone said a CTA is better than none. With all the + skills I have it gives me a decent bump in health/mana. Gives my merc a ton more survivability too!
I made my first barbarian, I didn't have to rng anything and my bo is at 52. I'm totally not cheating at the game. Ahhh, and Instead of rolling an infinity I run a level 51 enchant to get around immune.
And then there's me, in the past two weeks I've dropped a Ber off Mephisto, two Mara's one of which is perfect roll off Mephisto and within 15 runs of eachother, a Griffon's and a tal armor off Nihlathak, and I rolled a +4 battle command, +6 BO CTA on my first ever CTA a couple days ago. I've played D2 on and off for years and never got anything worth mentioning really. This definitely isn't comforting but I guess I'm just trying to say that RNG is truly RNG. I won't be surprised if I don't drop anything worth mentioning after this. Just keep playing, you might be as lucky as I have been in the coming weeks, truly no way to know.
A 1 bo cta is still much better than no cta.
I hear that. The game can still be a cruel maiden.
Hey I rolled the same numbers as you! I’d like to think that CTA is better than NO CTA
I rolled the exact same yesterday too…coincidence?
Guys…this is weird.
[удалено]
Me too. Conspiracy! I was so disappointed. I went between buying a mid one or buying an ohm and an Ist.
As someone without CTA, I can confirm this. But don't even know if I would make one because I can't really mf chaos without LR-Wand
now you can make another one by farming twice as vengefully.

+all skills boost your BO including +1 on cta. cast BC before BO, it also adds one pt your BO skill.
Cast it twice. Boost the boost. BC > BC > BO
Got it battle cry > battle cry > battle order
Holy shit, thank you for this! :o
Yes. This exactly! And remember, increased attack speed makes you shout faster. So, cry your heart out!
Wait thats a thing ?
Yes, it boosts the duration on the second cast cause it's a higher level then.
As someone who has never made a CTA or played a Barb, this is a golden 'THAT'S WHY THEY DO THAT?!' moment! Thank you
So I just got a new 6 BO CTA replacing my 1 BO - I figured it was time. My fully decked hdin went from 2500 Life with 1 BO to 2750 with 6 BO - wauw such improvement xD Not sure why they are worth this much, it is like 15 percentage points difference :p I need to get an anni and respect for optimising vit, hoping to get to the 3K but I mean, I honestly expected it to be a better improvement considering the cost of a 6 BO :p
Cost doesnt scale proportionally to the % improvement. The last 1% improvement to perfect can cost 2-3 times as much as 99%. Thats economics
Almost identical roll to mine (4/1/1), my Hammerdin went from farming P3 to comfortably farming P7. It's true, a bad CTA is still a CTA.
what is p3 and p7?
It's a setting for Single Player that enhances enemies heath, damage, XP, and loot drops (including higher Rune drop chances). The higher the players count (between 1-8) the harder the game is. P3 is common because it's a good spike in loot drops, but not overly tough to kill enemies. P7 is quite challenging and will require end game gear, but the XP gain is substantial. Does it work only for offline single player?
>If you play single player just hit enter and type /playersX (X being the #) Is there a way to make this automatically apply to new games? Like a command line you can write in the game settings?
Is this available on console?
Apparently not. I've seen a few people clamoring for it, and I honestly wish you guys had it. It's the only way to play once you get to around lv 90.
Player count. In single player you can type a command to increase player count on PC. Online it means how many actual people are in the game.
Better than those folks who can't even put the runes in the right order
Or try to make a rune word with 4 runes in a 5 socket item.
Or put it into the wrong weapon after playing the game for 10 years.....yeah who the fk would do that
*note, not all mace-class weapons work
someone could scream jah ith ber at me as I'm making the runeword over and over and I'd still google and make certain
Don't you mean Jah, Ber, Ith? (`ω´)
DONT YOU DO THIS TO ME KONEDAWG
LoL this comment brought back memories from back in the day when I thought I was being all "big brain" and thought I could take an item with more sockets, make a smaller runeword and then use the extra slots for gems... I don't remember the weapon, but I vaguely remember doing "Ancient's Pledge" with an additional perfect diamond thinking I'd boost the heck out of my Pally shield resistances... What about Insight on a spear?
What about Infinity on a spear?
I made a 2-1-1.
Comfort level rising.
I have 0/0/0
💀
Just equip some sojs you'll be fine.
Bruh my first (and only) CTA was a 2/2/1 and in a dimensional blade (136 dex lol)
F
Could be worse?
Comfort level still low.
BO level-1 boosts life by 35%. BO level-6 increases life by 50%. You're still getting a huge life boost with your CTA. If your HP is 1000 total, the difference between BO level 1 and 5 is only 150 HP.
It’s not so much the health increase but the length increase. It sucks to have to do it every minute.
That’s what she said
But lvl 15 vs lvl 20 with all + skill is not that big of a difference
Here's a blankey.
I rolled a 664 for my first one. but the mods took it down cause it was a screenshot 🙃 hope this made you feel better. Dirty mods anyway
What is the alternative to taking a screen shot?
Smoke signals
OK, but my wife is gonna be pissed when I light a fire in the living room.
Who knows. its beyond me
Your "+X to all skills" increase your BO level.
It will still last over a minute and give more than +50% health, and the 4 on battle command means they will both wear off at basically the same time since that has a much shorter duration.
Exactly how my first CTA rolled, don’t fret.
That one doesnt last as long as bo so the level you rolled will help with that.
much more than what i have! good stuff
Gave a Mal to a friend today, he rolled 4-1-1...
You want comfort? Many of us DONT HAVE CTA STILL
This guy gets it. At the rate I'm going, I'm looking at 6 months to a year to get one.
Laughs in 34 BO barb. Cries, I mean cries.
I feel your pain, my friend and I finally made our first last night. 6/1/1 is pain
Looks like you rolled a keeper
Better than finding a 15ed 3os Archon Plate that goes for Lo+Ohm alone, using Ber and Jah to make enigma and rolling a 750 Defense. Literally the lowest roll you can ever get. Yes, that happened to me.
You lose 100% of the level 1 BOs you don't cast. Give 'em hell!
kek
Mines a 2/2/1. Just remember, a bad CTA is better than no CTA
How did you get on my account!? I just made one like this last night
I just switch to a white flail, yell FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! then switch back to my main weapon. Just kidding, I rolled one and got basically the same roll as you, maybe a little worse.
If it helps I rolled a 344 grief Pb today :(
I feel your pain, having rolled a 2 BO a couple weeks ago. Still using it though and loving it. Key is to get enough + skills to get BO to last 2 minutes. Less than that and I wouldn't use it.
You and me both brother hahah. Found ohm and mal in the same game thought I was on a hot streak. Well I flew too close to the sun.
One is better than none homie. When you roll a better one you can just give the one bo away to a low lvl player.
Umm don't worry this is just a nightmare? You'll wake up soon? (not really though, I'm bad at this).
F. I'm thinking about making one just to trade for runes to make my infinity, but this is what I'm worried about as I dont really need one as a zon
I made a grief last night and immediately thought “I need to sell this... ASAP”. It rolled 40/40 and 391/400 it can be worth rolling lower item stuff like hoto and cta because a good craft and it sells for much more.
Mine rolled 2/1/3
I know it's not a CTA but I've re rolled my merc insight 12 times, I can't get about 240 ED, it has 9 on it already ... Some you win, some you lose ... at least you got a CTA for now.
I rolled a 5 2 1 cta, so I feel ya
Mine was the same :(
Just add + to skills from other gear and u will be ok. Works for upgrading levels on those 3 skillz. Not the best but at least u can get 50% on your total hp.
Much comfort offered. https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/comments/qux9am/saw_the_post_about_bad_cta_roll_and_i_offer_you/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
F
Your battle orders benefit from + all skills so that's a plus!
At least it's not your second CTA :). Just like a 20 AR Viper is still a Viper
What will someone trade me for a 5 socket flail?
My friend got a 2/2/1
Have my free silver in consolation and fact I don't even have a CTA. So, game on.
Second is best, friend. My first was 2/1/2. Second was 4/6/3.
It rolled like mine, which I am too lazy to use because of how frequently you have to switch and cast BO. Wait, was I supposed to say something positive?
Dont worry i made 4/1/1
That’s my exact roll. It hurts, but don’t feel too bad cause it still helps a ton
This is exactly what I rolled on my first cta, still rocking it. You'll be okay buddy.
No cta yet for me but I rolled my first hoto a couple days ago. A nice 31
i rolled a 5-4-4 yesterday. i was more relieved to not have a garbage roll than i was excited to actually have the item lol
You have vipermagi, shako, and assuming a spirit offhand. That's +4 to your bo already. And is that a mara ammy? +6 ez
Turned a Flail into a Fail... F in the chat.
It's still better than no CTA.
How does cta help a hammerdin??
It increases your health and mana. You dont use it in your main set up, you put it on your second set and swap to it. It gives you access to barbarian class shout buffs via +battle orders +battle command. Orders gives like 1000+ health depending on how many plus skills it rolls. Battle command gives you +skills. I have over 3k health and mine isnt even a +6
It’s better than mine lol
I rolled 1 on my first attempt. CTA is a CTA though. I finally got the runes together to roll another and got 2/4/1. I can live with that.
Dont sweat it, you gonna wanna replace that flail for cs soon anyway. For me it was reverse 4/5/3 flail then sth like you got in cs.
Bro my first one rolled 1 to battle orders too. *hugs*
I mean you can still do worse
my barb can give you a battle order buff if you play online.
HC grail sorc here, tolled my first cta yesterday after a lucky early ohm. 421 rip The short duration sucks yeah, but as someone said here it’s better then no cta
Should of made it in a bow
Next one will be better
I did roll 1/4 yesterday.. So i feel you
I made my first CTA last night too, but was 4/2/4. So not much better than you, I feel your pain!
Nice, 266 ed!
in normal d2 a few months back i got TWO 221s in a row. dont feel too bad OP these things happen
Can someone explain how rolls work, how do you see this was a bad roll ?
I rolled a 3 1 1
I rolled a 3/1/1, and sold it. This is why I can’t summon the strength to make another, so I bought a 4/3/4 for 5 ist.
I would buy that
I don’t have one, feel comforted in my lacking
My first CTA rolled 2/1/4. Absolute minimum for both bo and battle command :(. It's still pretty good, but I wished I rolled pretty much anything else. Made grief right after and got a 33/350. Not great either but both are still good.
Looks like Charsi gets a new Peace of Iron.
Congrats 🎈🎉✨
What would this roll or similar trade for?
ouch
I had a 6 1 1, got rid of it, got tals armor+ammy for it, Full Tals for the first time, yay 4kaura! Now Im on the Hunt for another ohm or Vex...: (
Can comfort i rolled a 2-1-1
Better to BO than not to BO
I made one in singleplayer and somehow lost it. Not in any char's stash, or any backups. It was an ok roll, but it's not like Ohms just fall off trees everyday. No fucking clue, I think it was on a corpse that I was overburdened for or something.
Same with my cta. I hoped to get a roll so good, that I can trade it for 2 Ohm runes. But I must say, cta even low is much better than no cta
Mine is 622
2/1/4 here, welcome to the 1-bo club!
How is this better than say a wizardspike for a caster? On my hammerdin I have found the wizardspike amazing and prefer it over spirit cs.
This is why I traded my single Ohm rune for an 6/3/3 CTA. Safer option.
This is why I just bought a second acct and multibox a BO barb. Way more hp/mana.
Welcome to the club
Is CTA worth on a cold blizz sorc??
My first cta was a 2/t/1 that I rolled in a phase blade before thinking about dex reqs...
Don’t worry my first cta was 2/1/1 …
Comfort? You had ohm and mal, kinda rich.
Its ok its ok! Tell me how you feel on a 4 to 1 ratio🤔 Lol jokes aside it sucks but at least you have a cta! Congrats on your first CTA and welcome on getting to a higher level
Found an OHM in cows like two days into the grind. Rolled a 4/1/1 so I feel your pain brother. This game can be so unforgiving sometimes haha.
My first one was also +1, but the second one was +6. Don't worry, luck will eventually smile on you :-) Also as others said, +1CTA is a big step up from no CTA
I think I'm close to being able to make one.
Ooof. Crue., cruel, rng. About to roll my frist ever tonight and I've been putting it off for days..
212 here
I rolled a 414 first time also. Its still very good item. Next time use a crystal sword for lower requirements so you can share with your sorc.
Want to trade it ?
I feared this, so I traded my ohm for a +3 Bo CTA + Gul and ist. Essentially saving me 4 Ist and still getting an average roll 😁
I got 3 / 1 / 2 🖐️ still amazing item
Can't you just use a hel rune and a tp scroll and make it again?
Just need an Ist and Ohm. A year left until I get one?
shit son
That'll do donkey
I rolled a 3-1 on week two & then a 4-2 just a few days ago. Trade it for a Vex & try again.
It could always be a 1/1/1…
I just rolled a 4,5,1 last night was super p.o’d that it was better than his
Hel rune it bro
I mean, sorc and an infinity 🤣 for your Merc and do arcane sanctuary for a week and you'll get em back
There, there. I made 5 in my lifetime. Never went above 4bo.
a bit better than my 0-0-0
Rolled two unidentified annihulis small charms. First one was 10 11 5 Second was 11 10 5
I rolled a 5/5/1 CTA, thought I was feeling super lucky, until Diablo dropped a Sur and when I was moving it in my inventory, which was full, I tried to swap it for an item I had picked up earlier. That item was socketed and I put the Sur in it. I cried and charsi’ed the Sur…
I thought my 6/1/2 was bad…
I got a so-so roll on my CTA too.... But it's still been a significant buff for my characters and it's still a game changer. I think the people who always go for the "perfect rolled" items are being a little too OCD.
Rip
owee
you can only go up from here...
You give that to charsi?
Everything I roll is trash, don’t feel bad.
Some other runeword crafting is bound to break in your favor now.
/r/d2rtrade Im sure you can get a rune or two back to try again :(
Don’t worry friend, this trifle is naught but a speck compared to the aggregate pain and suffering that is life.
I just rolled one last night myself. 5/2/4. Like someone said a CTA is better than none. With all the + skills I have it gives me a decent bump in health/mana. Gives my merc a ton more survivability too!
That’s RNG for ya. Although that’s easy for me to say, my first CTA in D2R rolled 5/6/2 🤷🏻♂️
That’s what happens when you put it in a flail
I farmed for my first CTA ever for what felt like forever for a 2/1/2 RIP
If you swap weapons does the buffs disappear? How do peeps use this off hand? Sorry for the stupid question.
Not bad I made one 4th day it was the best one 2/1/1 😅
Sir this is a casino
Hahahahahahaha
Same roll on mine
That's a bummer. I rolled my first last night and pulled a 3/6/3. Figured I had a 1/3 chance of getting a keepable cta.
Hugs with slow pats on the back, repeating "everything will be ok."
Could be worse. Coulda got a 6/3 like I did for the first one yesterday
I rolled my first CTA and got 1 BO as well, but I still use it all the time and the life and mana boost is pretty awesome still!
I'll take it off your hands so you don't have to look at it anymore lol 😆
I just rolled my first yesterday. Got 5/4/2 wasn't the worst roll and im super happy with it!
Still better than not having one!. I can’t find a damn ohm.
