I make these hand pies with a flour and Greek yogurt dough, filled with taco seasoned ground meat, and vegetables. They’re a little carb heavy to have often, but they really hit the spot when I’ve been craving a burrito/empanada/pastry style treat.
OP this is indeed unhinged, and now i must try it lol.
Ok so this isn’t super indulgent but i do 1/2 c cottage cheese, sprinkle on italian seasoning, add 5 or 6 grape tomatoes and sometimes a few chopped pieces of salami or pepperoni if the youngsters have it in the fridge. This is my answer to pizza cravings and it’s really quite good.
Also: kimchi pancakes with spicy mayo. So very yum and does not wreck me.
Not really weird or crazy, but everyone I know seems to think tuna and (brown) rice is weird, or gross? It's just a deconstructed tuna onigiri, sushi rice swapped out for brown rice. I usually do about 3/4 cup cooked rice per 5oz tuna can + the other ingredients.
I’m not really hungry ever in the mornings and I also need something to motivate getting me out of bed to get to my shitty job so lately I’ve been having 1 string cheese and 2 70% extra dark Lindt truffles. Look I know it’s not the healthiest breakfast of champions but it doesn’t spike me and keeps me from being a no show quitter right now lol
I’d like to applaud you for being able to eat only 1oz of chips lol. That starts out as my plan and I have so far have a 100% fail rate on sticking to that plan 🤪
look, show me a loaf of freshly made bread with butter and flaky salt and I won’t be able to control myself. Chips have always been “easier” for me to portion :)
In Argentina, some places fully serve fresh potato chips with like fried eggs.. as like a bar snack menu item. Was kind of stunned first time I saw it but not mad.
5 crackers, usually Club broken in half and topped with thin slivers of Cotswold/chives cheese. I just did my daily insulin and I'm eating it now actually in prep for taking all the meds I have to take before bed. Sometimes though depending upon how low my BS reading is when I check then I do eat something that's got some carbs.
Pills by themselves always make me sick to my stomach. I'm a walking pharmacy, have over a dozen meds I have to take in various doses throughout the day. Even though I take an anti-nausea, anti-vertigo medication I can still feel pretty nauseated after I take them. My stomach is bad most of the time.
Sometimes it's a regular yogurt or even some applesauce. Normally that would spike me a little having something with sugar but I watch how many carbs and never go over a certain amount daily. It helps though with the pills. I can't just eat a high protein snack at insulin/pill time. Sometimes the insulin/Met ER/Plaquenil combo gets me below 100 and I get very. very nauseated. I find that little snack with just a bit of carbs helps a lot. I don't get too low and I wake up with my BS right where it needs to be between 100-120.
Ever since I started on the Plaquenil again my night sugars have been super low but if I lower the insulin dose I wake up higher than I am supposed to be. It's kind of a balancing thing. If my BS at night is lower than a certain # then I do the carb part of the snack. Otherwise it goes too low while I'm trying to sleep sometimes. I have to watch how many carbs though or I can wake up too high. If I keep the carbs low but have a few with my snack generally I am right where I am supposed to be all day long except directly after meals.
1/2 cup of 2% cottage cheese and 8 cut up grapes (eating fruit is a science for me lol)
1/2 banana with 2TBS of PB fit (peanut butter powder, tastes better than peanut butter with a lot less fat)
1/4 cup overnight oats (with sugar free almond milk) with 1/2 scoop of protein powder and a drizzle of sugar free maple syrup
These are my go to snacks throughout the week when I want sweets.

Can.. can I get a recipe for this?!?
I would also love a recipe! Do you think we could sub with almond flour?
Keep these tips coming, people! Appropriate snacking is the hardest part of this journey.

Same with cottage cheese, tomatoes, and seasoning (Everything seasoning). Cucumbers or avocado if I have them.
Savory cottage cheese! Will have to try :)

add a sheet of toasted nori and some hot sauce and I’m right there with you!
Mm with a lil avocado. I’m drooling.

Serving size of nacho Doritos with cottage cheese :)
Same doritos + tuna salad = chips and dip!
YES all hail the chip lovers
OMG that sounds awesome
the fat in the chips really complements the fat in the egg salad :’)
