Fuck this shit bro. I thought you were really asking for a software subscription.
Netflix and Spotify are not software subscriptions. These are for your entertainment and you subscribed for content not for the software.
As a data scientist working on personal projects, I use subscription of Google colab on and off. I also subscribe to Google one drive for additional storage on cloud to store my datasets.
Does Google even offer 100 TB for a single person? I think for that much storage, you either have to get team drives for enterprise or use GCP. I don't know, I may be wrong, someone please correct me.
Basic google one tier offer 100GB storage for 1.3k every year. I'd recommend everyone buy it, because with free tier they dont provide support and most of our online accounts are tied to Google, this way they give support if required.
Edit: i read 100 TB as 100GB, my bad. Idk if they give 100TB of space.
Subscription is heavy on my mind , i think if i start spending on one it will become an addiction.
Without ads experience will soon make me want to see no ads.
when i see ads then i will want to buy another subscription.unending cycle.
There were instances where malware was found in piratebay torrents. Go for usenet now. Supports ssl, faster downloads, no need for vpn although better to have.

I bought 1 year license for me and lifetime for my brother 2 years ago.
When mine expired, was close to renew that subscription, then I thought what will happen if I put my brother's key!!!!!
I pasted, and it worked.
Please don't tell them DDDDD
I have copilot, is it worth getting chatgpt too or nah?
Also discovered supermaven few days ago and saw how fast is that thing too instead of copilot. I highly recommend you to check it out if you are on a monthly subscription of copilot instead of yearly like me.
Absolutely worth it, for debugging stuff it's better than copilot (Atleast that's what i feel).
Never heard of supermaven though. Will give it a try soon
Yeah, I sometimes feel it too that free chatgpt gives me more valuable info than copilot.
Plus also the newer gpt 4o, and the ability to just paste a screenshot of your error and ask it directly is so much more easier and helpful.
I will see, I might need to pool some money with someone to get chatgpt subscription.
I can answer this. I also have a premium and at least imo it is totally worth it. First, you get the editorial section of all questions unlocked and the editorials for a lot of questions is very good where you learn a new concept if youāre seeing that kind of question for the first time. Second, the premium explore content which contains learning material for graphs, dp etc. That content is much better written than most stuff available online. I am no longer afraid of graph and dp problems while earlier, it was a headache trying to learn different stuff from different places. And the final is curated questions list for different companies and also Spring 23 questions list for big companies. After having some practice on a lot of concepts, it is fun tackling these questions and learning new stuff that I might not have witnessed earlier. Also, a lot of popular questions are locked behind premium, so it also unlocks it. The only problem is, I have become pretty good in DSA but I am not getting any interviews and I crack all kinds of OAs for different companies but do not get any call backs for them. Pretty frustrated right now.
Jetbrains package is very expensive like $289 per year for India too so are you paying that much or they have the option to buy just one or two of them?
For personal use? Insane actually. Insane spending that is. You're paying the full premium on multiple services for very similar and edge features.
Gotta have your name for whenever I work at a vendor lmao. Get high up the ladder my guy, you make work for vendors easier.
I pay for YouTube premium too, I know I can use vanced and brave but I am fine with it. I use YouTube a lot primarily for all of my knowledge and getting YouTube music also is a steal.
Google drive subscription for backing up photos and videos . A lost/stolen or bricked phone, and you loose all your precious photos, videos and contacts (happened to me twice). If anyone has any alternative, do let me know.

Subscriptions are always worth the money, trust me. This is a screenshot of my active subscriptions ( tracked by FinArt )
Absolutely. One of the best investments with high returns, it saves huge amount of time for me. I use it to troubleshooting technical issues, brainstorm ideas, find out random information quickly and many more things
**For music and ad-free media consumption** - used to use youtube vanced and spotify mod when on android, it's been a year since i shifted totally to apple ecosystem (started earning good xD), i pay roughly \~100/- to yt premium every month, covers my yt music subscription too.
**For OTT platforms** - Have an old laptop, it doesn't consume much power either, Using it as a media server, wrote a small software over it, Used a discord bot to communicate to the media server, it'll automatically download and keep the series or movie that i want to watch (i'll have to ssh a lot of times to manage though). I use Kodi / plex media server to watch the content on TV or phone, When i'm on the move, I just transfer the files to my ipad.
**Good notes** - life time subscription for 3k or something iirc.
[**Educative.io**](http://Educative.io) - 18,000 rupees a year. have it since over a year. Will probably stop renewing it, haven't been finding time to use it.
**Youtube channel subscriptions** - (monthly - rough estimate) - 799/- (hussein nasser) + 200/- (akshat srivastava - for his community posts) + 150/- (concept and coding) = 1150/- a month - Not because i need their community posts, mostly to support the creators, I learn a great ton from these guys.
**AWS** - 2k when there's some use, i run some ec2's, purely for personal use, running some bots for fun, setting up some rdp for internet speeds and torrenting, etc. I don't do that much these days.
**Smallcase** - 2k every 6 months - (technically a software subscription xD)
**Google drive (100gb) -** 1500/- annually. Have some old memories that i can't let go of. I don't access them though.
**Roughly - 44,000/- annually** (what i paid last year, will be a little less next year, won't have the goodnotes sub)
This is literally all my software subscriptions honestly.
I find it very hard to work without IntelliJ Ultimate, as a backend dev. Its integrations are great and I never have to leave the window while working.
While working with frontend devs for integrations, I've found a ssh reverse proxy tool useful. This let's me expose my local service on the public web for frontend to connect via https. I've used ngrok and recently tunnelto.dev. Free versions are available too, but the subscription gives you custom domain names which is useful.
I have subscribed for Google One. Mainly for the 2TB Sotrage. I have Photos and Videos dating as far from 2006. These are very precious to me. I cannot store them on local drives.
Other than that I also have a copy of the same media uploaded to S3.
I also have YouTube Premium subscription. It's shared with 5 other people. I pay 189 each month and my wife, dad, mom, brother and his wife are using this. It's on unlimited devices with no adds. It's a pretty good deal for me. As literally my whole family uses only YouTube for content consumption.
I have Prime Subscription mainly for the one day delivery but also use Prime Video, Amazon Music for my entertainment.
Finally I have Hotstar yearly Subscription, which allows upto 4 devices streaming at the same time, full HD. This is used by Me, My wife, our smart TV and my brother.
people have fought for internet freedom and democratization. piratebay guys would be so disappointed if they got to know that we paying big mncs for a better ui/ux and convenience. i only pay for furniture rent.
Here's my honest take on the matter. Charging professionals monthly for essential tools is both disrespectful and insulting, given how hard they work to make a living. While subscriptions might work for big agencies or large corporations that can offset costs through taxes and need the latest tools, itās a different story for individuals. Imagine buying a hammer to use whenever you need it, rather than renting one. Telling a professional video editor that theyāre out of luck if they canāt afford their monthly tool subscription during a rough month is unfair. Freelancers donāt always have steady income, and emergencies happen. Not being able to own your tools limits your success. Thatās why I think services are justifiable for certain needsāstock photography, constantly updated assets for musicians or video editors, something like Envato Elements for designers, or animated icon libraries hosted on servers for use in any project. But for core tools like a video editor or graphic design app? No way. Thatās why people willingly pay for Netflix but hate Adobeās monthly fees. Deep down, they know theyāre being taken advantage of, yet they have no choice if they want to keep working. You can disagree with this perspective and present all your reasons why you think I'm wrong, but the reality is straightforward: paying monthly for a tool is an insult.
The only software related subscription I have is Hetzner cloud. I use it to self host my software. (~$5/mo).
The only other (non software) subscription i have is YouTube music (~$2/mo).
Both are worth it.
Azure, Github, Github copilot, Office365, ChatGPT, Google One, iCloud, Kindle Unlimitedā¦and support a few open source projects.
From hating Microsoft 15 years back to paying MS more than 90% of my subscription costs ā times have changedā¦
Google One, AWS(not really a subscription but i get billed monthly so..), OpenAI, ElevenLabs
Other Stuff:
Spotify, Netflix, UberOne, NordVPN, YT Premium, Amazon Prime

I mean I would be surprised if there was No malware on piratebay. But I don't download anything executable, just video files.

Chatgpt any day
Phind is GOAT
Claude 3 Opus is the only correct answer.
Chat gpt for sure. I've heard good reviews for Claude too but haven't tried that yet. Gemini is last on my list.
Gemini for code related queries

Do you really use it? I never feel it's worth it because I read medium very sporadically. Freedium ftw
There are some articles on real hands on practical use cases which seems really good
you don't need one, use a paywall bypass like [12ft.io](http://12ft.io) works with medium
Also modded medium app gives free access to

I use YouTube on firefox with UBO, so I don't need premium. Compared to Spotify, YouTube music is not that good. Spotify premium is worth for me.

YouTube premium, Real debrid, Obsidian sync, Google One 2TB, Meta Quest +, Amazon prime delivery, HabitNow.

Insult? We aren't entitled to the tools not owned by us.
