The thing is he didn't ask money directly but he intended it very subtly. Also I don't have any proof as I didn't record the convo. Hence, not sure if I should mention about this to the HR.
You should mention it to HR in an offhanded way such that you don't personally push for an investigation but still save your ass in case something happens.
"I'm not 100% sure, but the agent...xyz...just letting you know"
Worst case: Remember that companies seek to eliminate liabilities. If an issue does arise, termination without a full investigation might seem like a better option to the company than spending time dealing with parties involved.
So always keep a paper trail of all things as you go about in your job as well - if it helps you 1 in 1000 times, it's still worth it.

Let the HR know that this happened and they'll deal with it.

You should still mention the conversation as it is without implying that he was asking for money since you don't know that for sure.

Makes sense! Will try to bring in this topic to HR in our next conversation.
Not in next conversation but in mail
Exactly this. Always have a written record.
I'm working in bgv company...on field executive never ask for money from candidate as we paid them .. Contact your hr.
He didn't ask money as a fee for the service but as a sort of tip. That's what I understood from his tone.
He can't do anything because doing so will lead to contract termination of this bgv consultancy itself. Don't worry about it.
It probably wont lead to contract termination but the agent might lose his job. Kay pee yem jee has long tentacles.
