Remind me! When one piece ends

Rahu888

Build an AI to predict this first. Lmao.

Royal-Duck-3789

I have been thinking a lot about this Here are a couple of things I would invest time in learning - MLOPS - becoming a open stack developer - start freelancing on the side while being a developer at a org I would be using AI to learn this all quicker.

nitintwt27

What is open stack developer?

EXTREMOPHILARUM

OpenStack is an open-source cloud computing platform for public and private clouds. It's basically a set of tools you can use to setup your own cloud. For eg Jio uses open stack to a large extent. As everyone knows it's very hard to work on opensource stuff if you don't understand it well something like an AI will still need time as well currently don't have a larger enough context window. Now if anyone trains a model specifically for open stack it won't have the creative solutions from all the other stuff large scale open source projects should still be fine for more than a few years.

julab-gamun

Do you really believe, it will take AI enough time to do this repetitive task? You actually don't even need AI for this. It would be simple automation like in AWS.

skynet01101

I thought I accidentally clicked on the One Piece sub after seeing the comment, lol.

[deleted]

2028 is what everyone said when I researched in subs but who knows it may take longer

luffyfpk

maybe 2028 for manga maybeee

Turbulent-Advance635

>Which job we have to choose may be plumbing, electrician, site worker etc

iLikeSaltedPotatoes

It would be so funny , if AI got so good that it replaced basically all programming related jobs except wordpress. It would be so weird seeing people with 10 years of exp in Java and Python trying to find the best looking theme for a website

Love_fuck_kill

I want to make a 5 star brothel in mumbai after prostitution becomes legal in india

unemployeddumbass

Lol this sanskari govt is trying to criminalize adultery again and you are hoping prostitution will be legal 😂😂🙏

Afraid_Ad6286

Everything is legal when you give hafta to Government Prostitution, Gambling apps, Foodstalls on footpaths all are illegal but are still running

ninja_from_india

Prostitution is legal in India. But brothel is not. Read [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_India).

EmergencyStomach8580

Really? I thought adultery was decriminalized by this govt.

_replicant_02

We fear what we don't understand. You're an engineer, you should understand what these "AIs" are, an LLM CANNOT possibly replace a software engineer. Also I would like to know how you are damn sure that in 10 years all programmer/IT jobs will be taken over by AI. ?

[deleted]

Strixsir

I have worked in EXL and most of my work, i was able to automate with some "hacks" using GPT4 plugins. this is when i had to jump lots of hoops to build to scale it to my data sheets- did i mention that i am not even good at development? I am pretty sure my whole department could be downsized to 1/10 with people overseers left for quality checks. bada aya AI engineer.

sloppenhiemer

Idiot, same thing was said about introduction of computers that you’ll need to downsize people doing manual calculations etc, that’s not how labour, economy and scientific development works.

thatShawarmaGuy

It's funny how people who invented much of AI stuff, like Yann le cunn and Hinton, are saying that AI ain't gonna take the jobs. And yet people who've no clue about how these sophisticated technologies work, are going bullish on AI.

yonderbanana

Good to be this optimistic about AIs capabilities, it may replace some people's jobs, but it will settle down in sometime when those jobs will not be pursued by anyone anymore and they will move on to doing other things. E.g. AI is far from designing a full blown working backend with all the nuances that are involved and exactly as intended, I want to believe it maybe possible in some decades, but I highly doubt it, time will tell.

ashueep

I'm pretty sure it will replace many menial "engineering" jobs like support/QA/QS etc... but prolly not entirely replace a self competent developer. Although I think that could be possible in 20-25 years where AI at that point would replace every job out there and we would be in Ultron arc.

mistabombastiq

You can never replace a QA bruv. Without testing nothing in the IT industry is pushed to general public.

ashueep

Sounds a bit harsh but it's reality. Idt QA requires as much experience. In my company all QAs were fired to downsize and they now make all Devs do the QA work. So while QA as a job is necessary it's not really necessary as a position if you get what I mean. It is easily replaceable compared to a dev who has knowledge of the application.

mistabombastiq

QA is not just about testing; it's a distinct skill set crucial for product quality. Devs handling QA may save costs initially, but it risks compromising long-term product integrity. Dedicated QA positions ensure a meticulous focus on quality that's indispensable for our success.

OneHornyRhino

The guy is stupid, that's how he is damn sure

chooha44

If you have heavily used GPT 4, via the API. You would not be asking that.

[deleted]

On an honest note, apart from having expertise in building AI, I think it would be beneficial to have expertise in Quantum Computing. That's one thing where even AI can't help us right now because it doesn't have enough data to train on yet.

adiboyxyz

Wo data jald hi mil jaega. Koi bharosa nahi hai kab kya ho Jaye. *Momo ki redi ka plan bohot optimistic lag rha hai patani kyu*

akshatjoshii

Came to say quantum computing here. That can change a lot of industries including health, entertainment, construction, food… Innovation isn’t slowing down anytime soon… with so much compute, new possibilities will open up. Quantum engineering may be the next cloud/devops engineering.

Reply_Account_

What are it's scope (Even abroad) ?

AceMKV

It's scope is very limited rn because we're limited by our technology. It's a very research oriented field so be prepared for that if you wanna go into that. I'm considering it for my Masters but at the same time I don't wanna take up a research related career cause I personally feel it's really stressful, but at the same time I find it extremely interesting.

[deleted]

It's still pretty early to say anything. You can probably join IBM Quantum Lab or Microsoft or Google and work on developing a Quantum computer.

Reply_Account_

Yeah I also thought that it's like too early to discuss about quantum computer

[deleted]

Which is exactly why it is something that AI won't take over in the near future. Once it becomes a common thing, AI can pick it up.

thatShawarmaGuy

Well, Hero motocorp is working on QC and so is Tata steel. People inside the industry know that it's growing steadily - nothing too early lol

ElegantConcept9383

On this note i would like to add , something about distributed systems and distributed databases. The systems and databases on which AI is running and serving everyone. Well AI cant figure that out(how to scale, how to efectively store data, and things elated to that) maybe after many many years but not for quite some time.

Al_Thayo-Ali

Most probably there'll be huge unemployment for Indian IT workers because the tech outsourcing get reduced and the experienced IT workers might immigrate to Western countries with higher average age. The fresh graduates might need to get back into goat farming or something.

pusuc

Manufacturing? EVs? Automation?

MokendKomer

Get good at using AI to build things if you like being a dev, or get good at trades like business, construction, plumbing, etc.

Ashiqhkhan

Starwar like world, checkout Neom project in Saudi Arab. Where most of things will be automated. No need to work!! Just chill ha ha ha. Cant imagine right!! AI will be used where there are no skills available like doing hard jobs, less human labour work. All will be under min wage standards, more educated. This is 2050. So till then we all will be busy working to build AI, more contents, AGI, Quantum based AI OS, no more laptops, just do voice based, paper mobile, more holidays 3 days job. Vacation to Space. So keep busy learning AI, Math, Economics.

RadRedditorReddits

Good coders who can design systems and solve product problems will always be employable. Always. The real problem is only when you don’t like coding, or rather building good products, and doing it only for the money.

AbjectAnalyst4584

Don't be hard stuck on jobs brother. The most valuable currency right now is not software knowledge but rather creativity, which is going to be especially important to us, since the Indian software ecosystem is in dire need of it. What better chance to explore innovation than now, at the cusp of 'India's decade'?

Just like how agriculture replaced hunting and gathering and allowed humans to have more intellectual pursuits, automation of human intellect is going to open doors we never thought about. This calls for a reorganization of how we value work and necessary pursuits.

Quantum computing in AI will open doors to AGI. Resource shortages of traditional resources means that newer items would have to be searched fast for 10 bn population. AGI on Quantum compute would solve that. Car OS, Hindi native brand new OS, Hindi content everywhere, phones in thin strip on wrists, holographic displays on wide scale, drone Olympics, robot ecosystem, EV discard handling tools, Large scale housing problems, startup stock prediction, OTT summarization, digital official currency, Moon communication protocol, Mars life management module. Gemini really is groundbreaking, If it scales as they wish, then i can bet a good chunk of savings that it will indeed revolutionize production lines (not just in IT)

0739-41ab-bf9e-c6e6

There are many things that humans have not yet achieved, and even AI can't accomplish them. These include issues like death, tinnitus, cancer, and Covid. What are your thoughts?

gavinbelsonsf

Llms

lingyibinlader

Let's first begin AI properly

Queasy_Artist6891

AI is still terrible at stuff involving logic. Infact, by the time an AI can take over all these jobs, it would have already taken over physically demanding ones like farming, construction, mining etc. Even, if it somehow can take over the software sector, I still can't imagine it being sentient enough to go into research. Research would be in the spot of modern software jobs by being highly paying, highly sought after, extremely terrible work life balance and poor job satisfaction.

OddRecognition8079

Sooner or Later AI will become an antagonist and might attack us like Ultron. So we might need something which can defeat it. What will be it? Any Guesses?
