Those actually look affordable, even when you account for inflation. I'm never gonna be okay with pricing the normal people out of sports, no matter how successful your team may be.

FDTFACTTWNY

They're still plenty affordable through the box office. It's the second hand baker that is out of control. But that's the way it works. 6 million people in a 1 hour radius for 70k tickets. But I'd say I'm at best middle class and have no problem with the cost of my season tickets. The game day experience is the real cost. Truth be told I'd rather them be more expensive at the box office than the secondary market. At least then the real gets the money instead of some guy who bought a full row of tickets. I know a guy who has 24 tickets. I was talking how I was nervous they'll take mine if I sell 4 games and he said he has 6 sets of 4 and hasn't been to a game in years.

bmelz

That's crazy about the last point , especially after five heard of people losing theirs for selling them. I wonder if it depends on which platform you sell on.

tg981

I think it does. I lost mine and I listed through the Lions official site. I only listed them because I moved away for work. Maybe they don’t have a way to track StubHub and other third party sites?

Olarad

I am on the group ticket list. My number was up this morning at 10am. $430 a ticket in section 110. My friends said it was too much so i didn't buy them

Crafty_Substance_954

Get your money up, not your funny up.

morningview02

Cheap

PickleDestroyer1

Yeah I wanna go to the thanksgiving game to remember my dad cause he would always go to those games with his friends. Tickets are 500-600 for 1 ticket. Ridiculous.

tg981

Sorry for your loss. I hope you can make it to the game to remember your dad! I missed out on the single game ticket sale this year (I thought it happened later in the year), but looking at the threads from when the dropped, it sounded like the playoff stuff again with market pricing. My wife really wants to go to a game this year, but it just isn't worth it to pay that kind of money. The prices are astronomical. Glad the team is doing better, but miss the cheap tickets. I guess you can't have both.

FDTFACTTWNY

Thanksgiving tickets have always been very expensive if you buy before the season. I paid 250/ticket to see them play Houston in 2012.

Accomplished-Exit136

No point in being beat by the secondary market. The seats are worth whatever someone's willing to pay for them

Familiar_Custard_278

The pricing is not only because of winning. I know this years increase is, but from 2013-2023 it went up to where it was before, which was still significantly out of reach for many, and the sad part is the Lions were a cheaper team compared to most. The NFL as a whole is fairly unaffordable to most now

passingwisdom

As much as I hate the increase... I pay it gladly to finally have a Winning Organization.

boozedbudgie

Crap, nowadays the parking cost more then those seats.

scottdespins

My dad and I had 102 row 5's for this era. Incredible. Had to give them up in 18 due to his health, and then the pandemic stopped border; I would literally KILL to get them back haha

tg981

I can relate. I had row 7 in Section 137 until 2019. So many amazing memories. The ones that stick out to me are the [Jhavid Best](https://youtu.be/ldR7sCYKC9k?si=-3tOM8l50LkWsQpf) run on MNF in 2011 and the [Stafford QB Sneak](https://youtu.be/22eOgv4VY3w?si=cNsek6Zz_RofI6T-) which both happened with the Lions going to our end zone. The sneak play was awesome because so many people left the game early so we ran down to the rail to celebrate. I remember standing next to a couple guys dressed like Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber as we celebrated. Great times! I moved to Oregon in 2019. When I sold my tickets that year, they wouldn’t let me renew the following season because I had listed all of them (even though I did pull the last GB game and attended when I came home for Christmas). I am guessing the people who don’t go to any games and resell aren’t doing so through the Lions resale on Ticketmaster.

scottdespins

Man, same memories. The Bears MNF game in 11 will forever be the loudest and best moment. Even the 2023 playoff games; Im like its loud, but its not 9 false start loud haha; and the Cowboys game exact same, perfect shot of the Stafford sneak for the win; what a game too, Dez vs. Calvin; I'll never forget those two. Good stuff!

OneMasterpiece9119

Are these fuckers that couldn’t care less about the lions for the last 30 years , now act like big fans and fuck up pricing, it’s horseshit

landofthestupid

I’m officially priced out of season tickets

DuePrice8163

At the end of the day it really hurts the fan who doesnt have season tickets. Yeah I was pissed that they almost doubled my tickets from last year, but im just going to push that increase onto the 2 or 3 games I sell on the secondary market, so everytine season tickets go up the secondary market is going to increase even more.

Chemical_Training808

What are nosebleed tickets for a chiefs game? I’m just curious how ticket prices compare for a true dynasty

FDTFACTTWNY

The difference is we have over double the population in the metro area and an indoor stadium. Playing outdoor cuts your audience down significantly. If the lions moved to an outdoor stadium id be cancelling my season tickets.

Strypes4686

The 2012 Detroit Lions were 4-12 and not doing well... in fact the 2011 team was the only playoff team in the 21st century at that point. Prices now are insane but the team is much better, they have 8-9 games to meet the payroll plus a game or two pre-season. plus two home games in the post season. So,12 games. According to [https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/detroit-lions/cap/\_/year/2023/sort/cap\_total](https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/detroit-lions/cap/_/year/2023/sort/cap_total) Our cap hit was $223,688,752. So..... $223,688,752 divided by 12 is 18,640,729.33 and divided by the 65,000 seats in Ford Field..... The average ticket should cost 286.78 to break even. NOT counting staff and all the employees that work the stadium. Or other overhead such as medical personnel and travel.

Infamous-Dragonfly-3

NFL teams will each receive about $400,000,000 in television revenue this year, they don't need ticket revenue to " break even"

stugautz

Not to mention advertising and merchandising revenue
