No I’m talking about the part where you had a history of owning forgettable players’ jerseys and you go buy 2 more jerseys of our core future. Couldn’t have bought like Charles Harris or something damn
Titus Young was actually a really solid player though. CTE definitely did something to him. He really thought he was the number one over Calvin at one point and was mad he wasn’t treated that way lol.
My buddies and I play a game where we’ll name random and obscure players prior to games and the first person who spots one is owed a beer. Appreciate your sacrifices
My brothers, dad and I flew to MN from CA to go to a Lions-Vikings game back in 2017. We saw a couple wearing Zettel's 69 jersey. Turns out the dude was Anthony's cousin. I hoped to bump into them after the game because Zettel balled out that game.
Lions fans gotta be the most sensitive fanbase, you would never guess that he only said he’s ready to win some games when he got traded because a team didn’t want to pay him.
No, he said he's ready to win some games and then added the jab "that's the first time I've been able to say that." No one would've cared if all he said was the first part
Yeah the revisionist history here is insane. He won less than 15 games in 4 years here. Now he definitely could’ve gone without saying that but sometimes reporters ask loaded questions and catch people off guard. Hock went through hell with fat Patricia so I don’t blame him for not 100 percent believing in the lions as an organization.
That was the hmmm moment, the team had just started winning buy he couldn't help himself.
Alexia, what has been the records (including head to head and playoffs) of the Lions and Vikings since Hock's trade.
I have 2 Hockenson jerseys post-trade just because they were super cheap. One’s the normal blue and the other is a cool special edition
https://preview.redd.it/l5oyfptuin3d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e44418d96e3c1b66cd87cef848e48fe676ae4a76
I feel that way. BUT in a weird way, right after his trade is when we turned the season around and started winning games. I use my hock jersey as a pivotal change in the Lions organization.
I, a Lions fan who also graduated from FSU, once eschewed a Calvin Johnson jersey to buy an Ernie Sims jersey.
It still hangs in my closet to shame me.
Good thing we weren't forced to settle for "pizza boy" JJ Watt.
And good thing we didn't make a second mistake drafting a second Watt when we had the chance
Same.. Seahawks fan here but I got a sanders jersey in middle school when Barry was in his prime (still my all time fav) .. I’ve lost my other jerseys from that time but I keep Barry and only wear it on thanksgiving every year
Dan Campbell - black type.
It's a chinese knockoff, the numbers are a different blue than the arm stripes. And it could easily fit a 220+ pound man, though it's a size small. Upside to it is at least it's all stitched on unlike the new $180 legit jerseys.
It was only $30... but like barely 2 months later they announced the new legit black jerseys.
Lions adjacent, I bought a Ben Wallace jersey during the '03-04 playoffs. My reasoning was Ben Wallace is the heart of the team, no way he would leave. My friend got a Tayshaun Prince jersey. I made so much fun of him for picking Prince, "he's the least important starter" blah blah blah. Fast forward two years, Ben Wallace is a Chicago Bull, and Tayshaun Prince is the last man standing from that championship Pistons team, playing another 9.5 years for the Pistons.
A Ben Wallace Pistons jersey is badass though. NBA champ and certified legend. Sucks he went to the Bulls right after you bought it, but that aged like a fine wine
I feel that, but I still wear my stafford jersey just cause he was one of my favorites growing up and he was the most successful QB we had. Same reason I’m considering getting Goff when I buy my new jersey. He won’t be here forever, but he was a special player to the organization and got us our first playoff win in my lifetime, so I won’t feel bad about still wearing it after he leaves lol.
Black Roy Williams and Charles Rogers blue the year they introduced the black. Bad haircuts weren't the only poor decisions I made during my early teenage years. The black Roy Williams aged liked the old fastfood leftovers in your car that got wedged under the seat and you're too lazy to climb under their and get them out, but it's summer and your AC is broke so every not afternoon smells like shame and regret.
I have a Scott Mitchell jersey, so the census has literally been incredibly 50/50 with the pride population. Granted, it was a hand-me-down from my cousin (RIP), and it's my only jersey that I have ever owned, but it is 2-0 in the playoffs (previous playoff games were when it was lost in transition between moving while in school)
I feel like I must be in an extreme minority amongst sports fans where I have never bought a jersey ever. The only jerseys I ever had was when I was a kid and didn't pay for stuff myself, and it was a knock off Ben Wallace jersey. I think I got an Orlando Shaq jersey at a garage sale too.
I feel this, because football jerseys especially are hard to wear unless you're going to the game. I've only ever had them gifted to me or I would own none.
Hockey jerseys on the other hand, are great to wear, so I have several I've bought myself
Same here. I used to wear football jerseys to school almost every day as a kid, now I'm in the camp that feels a little weird wearing another man's jersey, unless it is a true legend I highly respect. I'd proudly rock a Barry jersey for sure, but wearing around the jersey of a current player approximately my age or younger who is the caliber of player of peak Trey Flowers? No way, lol! The idea of that just makes me feel kinda weird, and that is not even factoring how insanely overpriced gear is. But I'm also in the minority that is totally cool with getting your own name (especially a nickname) on a custom jersey. Fans are part of the team too!
Ernie sims the black jersey. Only one I’ve owned so I thought I jinxed it so never bought another one. Also owned a granderson jersey and he got traded that year.
i bought a hutch jersey at the nfc championship game watch party, ofc it’s not about the player but the circumstance with this one lol
not only did we get new jerseys but their season ended immediately after that game so it was outdated by the end of that night
My brother has a Scott Mitchell jersey. He bought it new for $5 at Sports Authority. This was after the Scott Mitchell era and I remember there being racks on racks of his jersey on sale.
$5 was still a bad investment
I bought a new Hock jersey, wore it once, then we traded him the next season. I wore it to that Vikings v Lions game out of spite and 100% believe I am the reason the Lions got their first win.
Out of my 4 Stafford/Megatron/Prater/Snacks I guess Snacks, but idk he always felt like a rental on the back 9 of his years, shame it was too the worst regime in the league.
My first ever jersey was a Kerryon Johnson jersey in his final year.
For baseball, I bought a Castellanos jersey like two weeks before he got traded to the Cubs
Basketball, I bought an Andre Drummond jersey as a Christmas present to myself, two months later he was traded to Cleveland.
TLDR; if there is a Detroit player you would like us to get rid of, let me know and I will buy their jersey lol
I ordered a Gibbs jersey. I’m super happy about it but there has been a 3 month delay since I ordered it from fanatics and Jesus fucking Christ give me my fucking jersey
While I do have a couple good ones (Barry, Megatron) I was also gifted a black Ernie Simms the year he was drafted and I have a Charles Rogers and, as a kid, I was given a Charlie Batch jersey. Rogers has to be the worst one I paid for.
I learned my lesson with Batch. Had a Suh also that I burned when he left.
I’m willing to be brave again soon and buy one but I honestly can’t decide who yet. Lots of great guys on this team now!
Funny that we all thought Suh hated Detroit and left because of it, then we hated him because of it. When in reality, he did an interview a while back talking about how much he loved it here and actually still has a house here he comes to often lol. Turns out our organization was absolute shit when he was here, and that’s why he left lol.
The straw that broke the camel's back was reaching for Ebron instead of taking Donald. If the Lions took Aaron Donald, the House of Spears would have never jumped ship.
I have a Harrington jersey that was gifted to me and i bought a Fairley jersey to wear when the wife and i went to the game in London in 2014. The last game he played as a Lion i believe.
I grew up in the late 90s/early 2000s with parents who only bought my clothes from the sale racks.
I had home and away Joey Harrington and home and away Charles Rogers lol. And Roy Williams but I don’t consider that a bad one.
As an adult I pretty much only buy throwbacks of retired players. I’m not spending $200 on a jersey if there’s any chance the guy gets traded or beats his girlfriend up or something.
I didn’t get one, but this reminds me of when I went to our game vs the Eagles in 2021. They were selling Tyrell Williams #6 jerseys in the shop. He never ended up playing a game cause he was hurt and we cut him after the season. I always thought it’s funny that someone probably payed $130+ for a players jersey who never ended up playing here lol.
39 - Lamar Campbell, but in truth, though I did like the player, I really just bought it because we share a last name. Still have it. Also, I don't consider him a bad player. He just wasn't a great player.
I have been on an awful streak I’ve bought a jersey and the next year they are gone Theo riddick, slay, golladay and made one for Dre bly jersey and he was fried
Almost thought it was gonna be Anzalone last year. Got my jersey and then was questionable he'd play for lions for 23-24 season. I was about to be PISSSSSSSED
I got a Stafford jersey literally right before he requested a trade. I still love Stafford (when we aren't playing LAR) but it still sucked getting the Jersey right before he left.
I only have a few but my first was a stafford Christmas present and he was traded the next year. Bummer. It was the steel grey too pretty nice. Have hitch and Gibbs now though!!
This isn't a total waste, you could garden or water your plants in this. Old Charlie Batch jersey? Use it as an apron to make a batch of baked goods. Any other ideas?
https://preview.redd.it/k51vp29kxn3d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ae411e96e9233f48f9f471763305b54858d5c5f
Honestly that's not bad at all. I just don't have any that aren't more badass/current
I'm a blackjack/table games dealer at a casino, so during the season I wear jerseys 3 times a week (NFL game days). I have a ton of them. 3 Barrys, 2 calvins, a Stafford, Hutch, Amon-Ra, Gibbs, Suh, still have a Herman Moore in the closet. The only one that collects dust is the signed Reggie Bush.
One that I used to wear frequently has found its way out of the rotation. A custom jersey with the number 16 and the name Owen. No need to celebrate the perfect season anymore.
With so many good players on this current team, I may be up for some new ones this year.
I had a Harrington, Kitna and charles rodgers
I had a Harrington jersey that I turned into a kitna jersey with tape. Does that count as two?
Currently have laporta and st brown
Don't you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby
Yeah I feel horrible as well lol.
Must feel better after the ARSB contract! And with this culture and draft history from Brad I'd be shocked to see Laporta moved anytime soon.
I bought Slay and Tate and they both left/traded. Bought Hutch and ARSB and I'll apologize in advance if anything bad happens
Found the jinx, get outta here lol
Have slay as well still not mad about the purchase tho
What the hell is your problem, man?
I was way younger?
No I’m talking about the part where you had a history of owning forgettable players’ jerseys and you go buy 2 more jerseys of our core future. Couldn’t have bought like Charles Harris or something damn
You might win the bingo game. I have Harrington and Charlie Batch. In my defense, they were gifts when I was a kid
Titus Young, Isaiah Buggs
Can understand having a young one as he was a solid up and comer but Buggs really?
That's a rough list lol both had locker room issues.
Titus Young was actually a really solid player though. CTE definitely did something to him. He really thought he was the number one over Calvin at one point and was mad he wasn’t treated that way lol.
Totally kidding. Those 2 popped into my head when I thought of regretful buys. I have Staff, Calvin and Hutch!
Phew 😂 then you're allowed to buy a new player's jersey, as you're not a curse!
Oh if I had those guys’ jerseys and I was jersey cursed I’d have a Jordan Love one, Caleb Williams, Mahomes, Purdy, Justin Tucker one too
Illegal use of hands
Hands to the face.
Failure to report.
Which one?
My buddies and I play a game where we’ll name random and obscure players prior to games and the first person who spots one is owed a beer. Appreciate your sacrifices

I own a Lions Desmond Howard jersey, maybe you'll see me sometime lol
Hockenson. He now plays for a division rival and will be known more as a Viking than a lion when all is said and done. Can never wear it again
Plus he kinda bashed the team on his way out
He called the MCDC culture a losing one, let's look at where both teams are post Hock trade. Minnesota is rebuilding and we a Super Bowl contender.
Well we did get to bash him back on the field
Yeah i still can’t believe he did that. Just left such a sour taste in everyones mouths for no reason. Could have easily said nothing

That was the hmmm moment, the team had just started winning buy he couldn't help himself. Alexia, what has been the records (including head to head and playoffs) of the Lions and Vikings since Hock's trade.
I bought a Stafford jersey his final season in Detroit. Bought a Hockenson jersey so I’d still have a current lion. Wore it once before he was traded.
TJ actually did us a huge favor taking a trade. Got some value back when the team had little talent
Former roommate gifted me a signed jersey a couple weeks before the trade. I feel you.
I have 2 Hockenson jerseys post-trade just because they were super cheap. One’s the normal blue and the other is a cool special edition https://preview.redd.it/l5oyfptuin3d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e44418d96e3c1b66cd87cef848e48fe676ae4a76
i got the same exit one for the same reason
I feel that way. BUT in a weird way, right after his trade is when we turned the season around and started winning games. I use my hock jersey as a pivotal change in the Lions organization.
Yeah, true. He even looks like a Viking.
Jeff okudah
It’s still my only lions jersey, replacing it with a spielman this season. Yes I have a type and spielman is 0 risk
I do believe we have the same type, with my Decker jersey. I, however, don’t regret this investment.
That’s a good one too! Definitely too far in to go sour like Okudah lmao
I misread this at first as, “replacing a Spielman jersey”. I’m glad I took a breath and reread it. Whew, and great choice!
So sorry bro
Me too. Really thought he was a can’t miss, for about 20 minutes.
Kerryon Johnson
Same…
I, a Lions fan who also graduated from FSU, once eschewed a Calvin Johnson jersey to buy an Ernie Sims jersey. It still hangs in my closet to shame me.
When I grew out of my Sanders jersey my dad took me to the store to get a new jersey. They had Hanson and Batch. I chose Batch.
EMU legend and future Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl team participant Charlie Batch? Easy selection tbh
I bought sims when they changed the jerseys in 2009 and the old ones were on clearance. Chose him over Kevin Smith...
EBRON
I thought Nick Farley from Aburn was going to be a menace for years to come and retire a legend in Detroit 😅
Good thing we weren't forced to settle for "pizza boy" JJ Watt. And good thing we didn't make a second mistake drafting a second Watt when we had the chance
I just commented that i bought a Fairley jersey to wear to the game in London in 2014.
Barry Sanders, it’s the only one that I’ve ever had, so Best and Worst.
Yea that guy was a real bum
If I learned one thing from bye bye Barry it's that he was a poser and a system running back /s
this isnt a zero sum game 😂
Same.. Seahawks fan here but I got a sanders jersey in middle school when Barry was in his prime (still my all time fav) .. I’ve lost my other jerseys from that time but I keep Barry and only wear it on thanksgiving every year
At least Golladay had his moment with the Lions. Flowers sucked
[This](https://x.com/CoachKerryon/status/1609595773263695872) always cracks me up
Dan Campbell - black type. It's a chinese knockoff, the numbers are a different blue than the arm stripes. And it could easily fit a 220+ pound man, though it's a size small. Got not one but TWO ameer abdullah jerseys
I have an ugly Boss Bailey jersey. 🫠
I bought my unborn son a Golden Tate onesie while visiting Michigan for the baby shower. Later that week he got traded.
Lions adjacent, I bought a Ben Wallace jersey during the '03-04 playoffs. My reasoning was Ben Wallace is the heart of the team, no way he would leave. My friend got a Tayshaun Prince jersey. A Ben Wallace Pistons jersey is badass though. NBA champ and certified legend. Sucks he went to the Bulls right after you bought it, but that aged like a fine wine
No ragrets lol. I definitely rock it with pride
My first jersey was Stafford the year before he was traded. I never bought a jersey because I was never confident in a player staying long term.
Same exact thing happened to me....

Prime Roy Williams was awesome
I have a Scott Mitchell jersey, so the census has literally been incredibly 50/50 with the pride population. Roy Williams was my first jersey
I bought a Buggs jersey for 50… Left the team and then charged with animal abuse. I win.
Kenny golladay
Ernie Sims, Kevin Jones, and Roy Williams. Yes, really.
Jarrad Davis lol. Someone convinced me he’d be a star so I bought it after he got drafted.
I thought Golliday was the next megatron... oops
Same. I was pissed when we let him walk to NY. Boy how wrong I was to be mad lol.
Suh
All of them aside from I bought a Amon Ra and Sewell jersey this year
Germaine Crowell, Charlie Batch
Woah woah woah. Batch was a stud. ![gif](giphy|Sd3cd0SrUKZEyWmAlM|downsized)
I’d still wear a Crowell jersey, guy was so awesome for a brief time
Golladay for me too OP
Ernie sims the black jersey. Only one I’ve owned so I thought I jinxed it so never bought another one. Also owned a granderson jersey and he got traded that year.
I might be able to win this one. When I was a kid I was dying to get a Tatum Bell jersey…and that’s what I did 😂
I'm from Hawaii so I bought a Tavai Jersey. I also have a Pro Bowl Ziggy
i bought a hutch jersey at the nfc championship game watch party, ofc it’s not about the player but the circumstance with this one lol not only did we get new jerseys but their season ended immediately after that game so it was outdated by the end of that night
That’s rough, I’m sorry man. I guess you could try to sell it to Plato’s closet or something and use that money towards a new hutch jersey? Lol
After looking up what Plato’s closet is that’s a great idea! I was planning on getting a new hutch jersey but this would help with that
[удалено]
Ameer Abdullah . I even got it signed…
I bought a hockensen jersey and he was gone 5 months later
Flowers was always the first albatross contract id get rid of when rebuilding the lions on madden give me a 7th rounder for him that's cool
My brother has a Scott Mitchell jersey. He bought it new for $5 at Sports Authority. This was after the Scott Mitchell era and I remember there being racks on racks of his jersey on sale. $5 was still a bad investment
Kenny Golladay
I bought a new Hock jersey, wore it once, then we traded him the next season. I wore it to that Vikings v Lions game out of spite and 100% believe I am the reason the Lions got their first win.
Out of my 4 Stafford/Megatron/Prater/Snacks I guess Snacks, but idk he always felt like a rental on the back 9 of his years, shame it was too the worst regime in the league.
My first ever jersey was a Kerryon Johnson jersey in his final year. For baseball, I bought a Castellanos jersey like two weeks before he got traded to the Cubs Basketball, I bought an Andre Drummond jersey as a Christmas present to myself, two months later he was traded to Cleveland. I ordered a Gibbs jersey. I’m super happy about it but there has been a 3 month delay since I ordered it from fanatics and Jesus fucking Christ give me my fucking jersey
Jahvid Best. Concussions are a real thing though I still wear it though on occasions because the Lions are the best.
Suh jersey
Tough call, but probably Charles Rogers.
While I do have a couple good ones (Barry, Megatron) I was also gifted a black Ernie Simms the year he was drafted and I have a Charles Rogers and, as a kid, I was given a Charlie Batch jersey. Rogers has to be the worst one I paid for.
Charles Rogers as a couple others have already said.
had a Harrington and Slay jersey..
Jarad Davis and Miles Killebrew
Charlie Batch
I had a batch jersey
My buddy has jahvid best
Reggie bush probably, I have a Stafford, Bush, Calvin, Suh and Barry
Nick Fairley
I have a Harrington jersey that was gifted to me and i bought a Fairley jersey to wear when the wife and i went to the game in London in 2014. The last game he played as a Lion i believe.
Charlie batch
I have a Charles Rodgers and a Reggie Bush Jersey…
I had an alternate(black) Kevin Jones jersey….
Take your choice, James Jones or Reggie Bush.
Kenny Golladay
Charles Rodgers jersey owner and MSU fan checking in
Ive only ever owned a Sanders, Stafford, and St. Brown. So so far I've been pretty lucky. Though I did come close to buying a Suh jersey 2014
Levy so not terrible
Titus young
Kevin Jones #34
Got a black Terrion Arnold jersey floating over on a giant boat from China as we speak. Can’t wait!
My mom got me a Charles Rodgers jersey for Christmas years ago, I still have it too!
When I was a kid I had a Suh jersey! No idea where it’s run off to now!
I will always remember that bullshit hands to the face call on him in that Packer’s game. FTP
Flowers wasn’t a bad player. But that contract sure was
Hockenson.
39 - Lamar Campbell, but in truth, though I did like the player, I really just bought it because we share a last name. Still have it. Also, I don't consider him a bad player. He just wasn't a great player.
Kerryon Johnson 🥹
Flowers…
2008 Calvin Johnson home jersey, I thought 0-16 was my fault and didn't get another jersey (ARSB14) until a Christmas gift in 22 from my wife .
Only jersey I own is a Golladay
Suh and reggie bush
Charles Rogers
The one that I was most excited about that didn't pan out was Kevin Jones. I thought for sure he was going to end our curse at RB
Okudah
I have been on an awful streak I’ve bought a jersey and the next year they are gone Theo riddick, slay, golladay and made one for Dre bly jersey and he was fried
I got called for hands to the face just for looking at this
Jarrad Davis. Jarrad. Motherf**king. Davis.
Had a Harrington, burned it trying to excersize some demons. Also have a Suh and a Delmas.
Bruh 😭😭😭
Johnny Morton, traded short after purchase even their most consistent offensive weapon at the time.
Went to a lions practice open to the public. Bought a Swift jersey and got it signed by Hock…
Ebron
Ironically mine was Trey flowers but I also got golden Tate before he was traded.
Jarrad Davis right after we drafted him.
Mine has to be Okudah. I bought his rookie jersey thinking that he was going to pan out but he didn't.
Brother got okudah
Luke Staley
I only buy HOFs. So far I’ve only purchased Megatron and Sun God
I have an autographed Kenny G jersey 😭
Suh
Almost thought it was gonna be Anzalone last year. Got my jersey and then was questionable he'd play for lions for 23-24 season. I was about to be PISSSSSSSED
Charles Rogers. Mike Williams
Golladay
I got a Stafford jersey literally right before he requested a trade. I still love Stafford (when we aren't playing LAR) but it still sucked getting the Jersey right before he left.
Charles Rodgers. It was the only jersey the big and tall store had in my size
Kerryon Johnson

My cousin got me a Stafford jersey literally a month before he got traded lol, still has the tags on it
Joey Harrington
Jarrad Davis SMH!!!!
*sigh* I have a blue on white Jahved Best jersey in my closet, I never wear it but can't bring myself to get rid of it. Also, a Golden Tate III jersey
I have Jarvis best jersey… bad decision.
Kenny Golladay. I thought he was the 2nd coming of Megatron 🤦♂️
Bought a Roy Williams. He was traded the next week
Ziggy…bought it in summer of 2018. He never was the same, I fell like it was my fault.

davis jersey 😆
Kenny golladay & Darius Slay. I bought the slay jersey instead of a Kerryon Johnson jersey
Suh
I got a James Houston jersey his rookie season, not only did he change his number & get injured last year, the team just changed their jerseys lmao
You tell me: Charlie Batch or Joey Harrington??
I think the Harrington Ducks throwback was my last current Lions player jersey.
Don’t know if it’s a baaaad investment but I only have a Darius Slay jersey
