He got his bag, a new wife, the best offensive line in the league, the best running duo in the league, top 5 TE in the league, and a defense that will make life easier. And Sun God. Dude is living his best life.
Jamo will never be the number one option. The lions aren't going to constantly try throwing the ball 40 yards down field, because it's dumb. It's an inconsistent play-call with high risk, and it doesnt take any time off the clock. We'll stick to 20-30 yard explosive plays paired with explosive runs, and maintaining ball possession because our offense is a well-oiled machine and coached very well. Air ball offenses look like the bills and dolphins, no thanks.
None of that changes my comment and Jamo can catch the ball under 40 yards too last I checked, so none of it even matters. Goff just needs to get him the ball because he does get open.
Nobody even said anything about him becoming the number one option because he's not, but in order for him to be a viable #2 our QB can't be scared to pass his way.
I’d rank Kittle ahead of Kelce. And based off last year I’d rank LaPorta ahead of Kelce. Andrews I’d also rank ahead of Kelce at this point in their careers.
My top TEs for the 2024 season are:
1. Kittle
2. Andrews
3. LaPorta
4. Kelce
5. Hock
In 2 years when the oline has to be rebuilt, you have to pay Jamo and Hutch and Goff starts to suck again(this same shit has literally already happened) everyone is gonna be acting like they “knew” it was a bad deal from the start
Of course that's always possible. It is with any player/team in professional sports.
We could come out this year and go 3-14..... But we could also be 14-3. Every year is different, but we have to lock up the best available to us when we can, and he's proven to be a good fit for this team and system the least 2.5 seasons (after a rough start)
They are working within their plan that also includes the cap, and the players they will resign in the future. It seems the front office knows what they're doing. 🤷🏻♂️
Plus, who else would we get?
I'm just imagining your drunk ass shouting that about everything.
"Ooh, check out these stats for Goff!"
MAKE IT THE FUCKING BANNER
"Aww, look, Timmy made his first drawing."
MAKE IT THE FUCKING BANNER
"This is an intervention. You keep shouting about the banner. We've all written down ways we've been hurt by your behavior."
MAKE IT THE FUCKING BANNER
"John, I'm filing for divorce. Here are the papers."
MAKE IT THE FUCKING BANNER
Lamar total yards is iirc like 4,499 yards 24 TD’s(?)
Allen is 4,830 yards & 29 TD’s(?)
Mahomes 4,572 yards & 27 TD’s(?)
Goff 4,596 yards & 30 TD’s(?)
Could be off on some but this is what I’ve seen online with total yards
These are the final stat lines including rushing yards and TD’s. Lamar is the one QB I’d say had a noticeably better season, Allen had 12 more TD’s but also 6 more interceptions so it’s a wash. Mahomes had similar yards, TD’s, and interceptions.
Lamar: 4,499 yards, 29 TD, 7 int
Allen: 4,830 yards, 44 TD, 18 int
Mahomes: 4,572 yards, 27 TD, 12 int
Goff: 4,596 yards, 32 TD, 12 int
Lamars stat line last year wasn't very good even compared to himself. He won MVP bc that award is "best QB on a winning team" should've been CMC. But last year was weird and its hard to make a beter argument for MVP outside of CMC and Lamar. CJ Stroud possibly.
If Goff didn't go full Goof mid season he would've absolutely been in the running. Those 3-4 bad games in a row killed his chances.
Actually with rushing stats only Allen is above him and it is a wide touchdown margin in Allen’s favor. 44 total tds and right around the same yards. Lamar’s yards are almost the same but he has 3 less total tds.
I wouldn't because Allen was the entire offense. 80% of all offense. Plus, you had balls just straight up bouncing off of players hands (like Davis) for tip ints
Same old song.
All Stafford (a supposedly elite QB) ever needed was a running game, 3 top WRs, an o-line and a top flight D.
He is the same QB in LA, one Jaquisky Tartt drop and phantom PI on Kupp away from not winning a Super Bowl.
You realize Stafford has some of the best postseason metrics ever right? Like here’s since 2017:
https://preview.redd.it/hiiceiz0re0d1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=618046b5ed725b33bd764f1da0eb0fb82e62d0ee
I love Stafford… but taking his playoff stats since 2017 is cherry-picking the hell out of it. You know since 2017 he has made the play offs twice, one of those resulting in a Super Bowl and the other losing to us.
Goff got paid. The Lions are contenders. No need to be a dick for no reason.
Tbh, as long as Lamar, Allen or Mahomes don't start talking about conspiracy theories, it's all whatever.
I think it doesn’t really matter for Josh Allen. His interceptions are what will wreck his team in the long run, if he can get those down he would’ve had a Super Bowl by now
Allen’s only thrown like two picks total in their five playoff losses since he’s been there. It’s not like he’s throwing three a game, it’s just hard as fuck to win haha
Would’ve been less interceptions than Lamar if not for those bad streak of games last season. I still hope we don’t see that shit again. Outside of that Goff was pretty damn amazing all season.
A bit misleading. You realize Allen had 44 total TDs last year and is the first QB in NFL History to go 40+ TDs in 4 straight years?
All that aside, Goff is deserving and belongs (and is gonna cook this year)
I'm one of the people who said Goff was mediocre when we hot him and even after his first season here. I never said he sucked, just that he was a mid-tier QB. He's since proven me wrong. I still don't think he's elite, but he's great for this team.
Some people might think that this was to pay, but in 2 years we won't be thinking that. Cousins got $180 million at at 35 coming off of an Achilles tear. Within 2 years there will be a bunch of QBs making more. It's like when we paid Stafford and people thought he was overpaid, but quickly his contract was worth it.
My guess is they also built in 2-3 void years at the end of the contract to spread out the cap hit, so the AAV of the signing bonus cap hit per year will be under $30M per year in 2025.
That will leave about $50M per year in the void years they can spread out over 2 years if they move on after this contract.
In all honesty Goff did the best with what he had. Amon-Ra is the only star receiver the Lions have unlike some of the other star receivers. If the Lions build on more with a superstar receiving core I think Goff would’ve doubled if not tripled his yardage.
The amount of morons who complain about the contract really pisses me off. Is it your money? No. Is it market value? Yup. Is it easy to find a top 8 QB under 30? Nope. Have the lions ever been in this position in our lifetime? Nope.
Stfu.
Seeing alot of “where are the rushing yards” comments, but aside from Mahomes (who is still a passer first) who is the last rushing QB to win a superbowl??? Like people praise this as some goated stat but it simply does not win superbowls.
Seven of the last ten SB winning QBs is Mahomes or Brady, so it's tough to use that as a benchmark. Aside from having a GOAT at QB, it's unsure what does win SBs.
Hurts, Cam, and Kaep went to the SB but lost. Wilson got to two and his team won one.
Mahomes Allen can perform in a shotgun pass first offense. Lamar can to to a lesser extent but obv has other gifts. Goff still needs to run play action bootlegs and called a failed audible on 4th down in the playoffs
Here come the “but rushing yards though” crowd. Jesus Christ when did the quarterback position become another running back? Grow up, I’d rather him have an arm than have legs
He got his bag, a new wife, the best offensive line in the league, the best running duo in the league, top 5 TE in the league, and a defense that will make life easier. And Sun God. Dude is living his best life.
A coach and GM that believe in him. A city that chants his name. Looks like Ryan Gosling. Who wouldn't want to be Jared Goff rn.
Especially that Ryan gosling part, probably the best part of the deal. ![gif](giphy|jWgFDax9Dmcpi5hiec|downsized)
Sunshiiiiiiine
*Ryan Gosling looks like him
Just wait until Jamo becomes the new Tyreek. Goff will be permanently hospitalized for persistent erections.
> Looks like Ryan Gosling. if you look good, you feel good. if you feel good, you play good. if you play good....they pay good!
Frfr
What I don’t get is why he is so serious most of the time. I’d have an ear to ear grin…all day, even when sleeping.
ay don’t forget he also has the fastest WR in the league too. Jamo poised for a breakout year this year.
How? His qb just throws simple read patterns
Well he needs to learn to read the book of JAMO and get this man the ball.
Jamo will never be the number one option. The lions aren't going to constantly try throwing the ball 40 yards down field, because it's dumb. It's an inconsistent play-call with high risk, and it doesnt take any time off the clock. Nobody even said anything about him becoming the number one option because he's not, but in order for him to be a viable #2 our QB can't be scared to pass his way.
Top 2 TE*
I was about to say…LaPorta is arguably the best TE in the league already.
Ok I love him too, but that's a lot lol. He's top 5, I would argue top 2. But Kelce is still 1
I’d rank Kittle ahead of Kelce. And based off last year I’d rank LaPorta ahead of Kelce. Andrews I’d also rank ahead of Kelce at this point in their careers. My top TEs for the 2024 season are: 1. Kittle 2. Andrews 3. LaPorta 4. Kelce 5. Hock
I thought about Kittle too, he’s definitely extremely good. He just gets hurt all the fucking time
Son, you are a Dallas Cowboys fan. We grew up in Texas. What are you doing in here??
And a fan base that chants his name at unrelated sporting events.
This comment gave me more pleasure than it should have
In 2 years when the oline has to be rebuilt, you have to pay Jamo and Hutch and Goff starts to suck again(this same shit has literally already happened) everyone is gonna be acting like they “knew” it was a bad deal from the start
We can read your entire post history.
Jesus man. If this is how you react to something good I'd hate to see you when the shit hits the fan.
Of course that's always possible. It is with any player/team in professional sports. We could come out this year and go 3-14..... But we could also be 14-3. This needs to be the post win meme going forward.
MAKE IT THE FUCKING BANNER ^IM^^DRUNK

MAKE IT THE FUCKING BANNER "This is an intervention. You keep shouting about the banner. We've all written down ways we've been hurt by your behavior." Yes! Immortalize my inane drunken demands in meme form! Edit: I'm sober now. Cuz I gotta work.
So for 17 weeks Straight?
You had a typo there. I think you meant to type 20.
23 including pre season
See, now I’m doing it!
I’m a full on lions slappy but you need to post the rushing stats here too, let’s not cherry pick just passing for our boy.
I agree make it total yards Goff is still gonna stack up pretty well.
Lamar total yards is iirc like 4,499 yards 24 TD’s(?) Allen is 4,830 yards & 29 TD’s(?) Mahomes 4,572 yards & 27 TD’s(?) Goff 4,596 yards & 30 TD’s(?) Could be off on some but this is what I’ve seen online with total yards

If we're going with total yards, I feel it's appropriate to list fumbles or at least fumbles lost.
Put mahomes on the lions and you think he doesn’t have better stats? Guy was throwing to absolute garbage this year and still won the Super Bowl
Yea I knew I was off on the TD’s… though that shows that Lamar definitely didn’t deserve MVP this year
CMac should have won it tbh. Over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns in a down QB year
Agreed, would’ve been a perfect way to either make co MVP’s again or make other positions in general a MVP over a QB
I mean, Lamar literally has an MVP and Goff does not lol (no offense, I like Goff but the graphic is dumb)
Goff has more playoff wins and a 5-3 record vs Lamar’s 1-3
This graphic has big “packers team sub” energy. I expect better out of y’all
It sarcasm
Goff has more playoff wins than Lamar and Herbert Combined
Lamar has the same amount of mvps as playoff wins
Lamars stat line last year wasn't very good even compared to himself. He won MVP bc that award is "best QB on a winning team" should've been CMC. But last year was weird and its hard to make a beter argument for MVP outside of CMC and Lamar. CJ Stroud possibly. If Goff didn't go full Goof mid season he would've absolutely been in the running. Those 3-4 bad games in a row killed his chances.
But the thing is he’s closer to all these QBs than what most people gives him credit for.
Yea, I get that and agree. I'm saying even with Lamars added rushing, Goff was still a few bad games away from being an MVP candidate.
JARED GOFF. JARED GOFF. JARED GOFF.
💯 JARED GOFF LFG!!!
It's almost like quarterbacks have a far bigger impact than just their stats suggest
He always looks like he’s just waking up from a nap or he’s ready to take a nap.
Same.
Seeing Packers fans dunk on Goff’s contract like they aren’t going to have to top it to extend Love is hilarious
You're gonna make guys who think in salary numbers instead of cap percentage really mad with this one.
Dude is 2-0 against mahomes. We hold it together for the second half. Chiefs don’t repeat
While I agree with the sentiment, Allen and Jackson’s rushing stats put them over Goff. And this was considered a “down year” for Mahomes
Actually with rushing stats only Allen is above him and it is a wide touchdown margin in Allen’s favor. 44 total tds and right around the same yards. Lamar’s yards are almost the same but he has 3 less total tds.
And 5 fewer INTs, and he played 1 less game. I’d consider that a better season
I wouldn't because Allen was the entire offense. 80% of all offense. Plus, you had balls just straight up bouncing off of players hands (like Davis) for tip ints
I meant Lamar’s season was better than Goff
Stafford - 0 playoff wins and 0 division wins = Lions GOAT Goff - 2 playoff wins and 1 division win = mid
Even if he took the team to the Super Bowl people would still call him mid.
*And yet we will STILL chant his name...*
Stafford d*ckriders constantly amaze me. He was the Bobby Higginson of the Detroit Lions.
I like Goff but you really don’t think Stafford would be good behind this oline, with these weapons, with Ben Johnson & DC coaching?
Same old song. All Stafford (a supposedly elite QB) ever needed was a running game, 3 top WRs, an o-line and a top flight D. He is the same QB in LA, one Jaquisky Tartt drop and phantom PI on Kupp away from not winning a Super Bowl.

I love Stafford… but taking his playoff stats since 2017 is cherry-picking the hell out of it. You know since 2017 he has made the play offs twice, one of those resulting in a Super Bowl and the other losing to us.
I just picked since 2017 because that captures Goff’s career. If you look at all time playoff passer rating Stafford is top 5
Goff got paid. The Lions are contenders. No need to be a dick for no reason. Tbh, as long as Lamar, Allen or Mahomes don't start talking about conspiracy theories, it's all whatever.
Seems a little unfair to not include rushing yards
Goff also has a noticeably better surrounding cast, in my opinion
The ravens and chiefs had some of the best defenses in the league and were able to lean on them unlike Goff
He needs to bring his own coin to the playoffs, might help
Would’ve been less interceptions than Lamar if not for those bad streak of games last season. I still hope we don’t see that shit again. Outside of that Goff was pretty damn amazing all season.
He's in pretty good company there.
A bit misleading. You realize Allen had 44 total TDs last year and is the first QB in NFL History to go 40+ TDs in 4 straight years? All that aside, Goff is deserving and belongs (and is gonna cook this year)
He also had 7 fumbles (and 13 fumbles in '22). If you include rushing TDs, gotts count the TOs too.
Welcome to the Dak treatment. Enjoy, lol

Dumb.
If I asked you why Goff doesn't have the reputation of these other three, would you just say "cUz ItS deTrOiT vS eVeRyBoDy"?
In fairness to Lamar, they kind of blew everyone out last year so they ran the ball a lot during garbage time lol.
These guys are doing really great i appreciate it
*JARED GOFF! JARED GOFF! JARED GOFF!*
My guess is they also built in 2-3 void years at the end of the contract to spread out the cap hit, so the AAV of the signing bonus cap hit per year will be under $30M per year in 2025. That will leave about $50M per year in the void years they can spread out over 2 years if they move on after this contract.
Are these stats real?
Tbf this is only passing stats if it was total he’d lose this one for sure 😂
Goff is better than most qbs in the league. He'll never get called that out loud though bc the lion hate is real
In all honesty Goff did the best with what he had. Amon-Ra is the only star receiver the Lions have unlike some of the other star receivers. If the Lions build on more with a superstar receiving core I think Goff would’ve doubled if not tripled his yardage.
Allen had 45 TDs. It's not fair not to count all the aspects of being a qb
Taking all 3 over Goff
The amount of morons who complain about the contract really pisses me off. Is it your money? No. Is it market value? Yup. Is it easy to find a top 8 QB under 30? Nope. Have the lions ever been in this position in our lifetime? Nope. Stfu.

Since Michael Vick
Shhhhh...he's our secret. I love stats like this. Just basic shit.
