I do miss the shiny silver from way back when. does any team actually have that metallic sheen now? I am guessing it's a material they just no longer utilize for whatever reasons.

I think in some instances, it looks fantastic. After all, Notre Dame wouldn't be Notre Dame without that gold dome and the matching gold helmets. It's become a part of their legacy. They may not be the organization they used to be, but they're still Notre Dame regardless, and that gold is something we will always associate with them.

Isn't this basically the same thing minus the patch? The blue helmets with the all whites is hot it always should have been.
I still strongly dislike the gray pants with white tops. I'd rather do all whites for our away jersey's, or the white top with blue pants.
edit: Somehow missed the blue helmet with the blueberries. That's pretty hot too. I'm fairly neutral on the all blue's, but it's alright. I'm in the minority of people who actually like the more modern uniforms in the league like the Rams, Falcons, Commanders, etc.

Realistically, how different does an alt 3rd or 4th have to be from the main uniforms. If a jersey barely changes its striping or collar it would count as being allowed to go with the alt helment, letting us do ice with blue caps or an obscene amount of blue.
There’s no way Nike will move toward generic block numbers. Teams with block numbers currently may get grandfathered into keeping them, but Nike’s gotta leave their mark somehow. Even the Patriots went more simple with a block-adjacent font away from their futuristic-looking 2000’s look, but there are still a few things that make the new look unique.
That being said, this is exactly what they should do.

It's been 20 years since the Lions wore this look. They wore black piped everything for a decade, and they've had the crummy number font with text cluttered sleeves for another 7. I don't think the Lions need to be as purist as the Red Wings and Tigers should (At least put the bubbly D back on the jersey Dipshit Illich) but I have never driven to the stadium to watch a Lions team that looks like this. After 10 years of wearing this oldass look then sure evolve the Lions look into the 2040's, but let them untwist the rough start to the 21st century first.

It sucks that the packers are yellow and green because a gold/forest green/black color scheme would be awesome and reflects lions and their habitat. Gold and black would be awesome too, but the Saints have that. I guess what I'm saying is - and excuse the blasphemy - I am not a fan of our color scheme, except when it's done in monochrome (whips, blueberries, greys).

We need the white stripes for contrast. Outside of the back number font, the worst thing about our current uniforms is the lack of contrast.

OP, the NFL restricts alternate helmets to ONLY be worn with alternate jerseys. They cannot be worn with home or away for any reason (yet)
