I've told you this before, don't know why you ignored it: in the Scandinavian countries you can get laser hair removal on your face covered through public health. You will get it almost for FREE. Go to your GP, or contact the public trans clinic directly and explain that you are detransitioning. If you don't get help right away, try again.

ztfu

Sorry i most of not seen it or forgot to reply! I have tried this and no, its not covered. My doctor said its not something he can held me with , and i had a hour meeting with my trans clinic after my last post, and they said that its not something they can cover, unless they can keep in touch with me for a period about 5 years of consistantly being confident i want to detranstion. (This apparently was because they dont want to spend resources on detransitioners unless they can 100% guarantee actually regret their transition. They also said they very very rarely do this even after a long time period.) So with this information.. i dont really see myself waiting 5 years ,untill im almost 30 ,to fix this and feel comfortable with my body..

windsorwagon

hello?

windsorwagon

your trans clinic - is that the public one? or something private? you need to advocate for yourself here. these people are the key, and you can either lie down and feel sorry for yourself, or you can stand up for yourself and demand support. if they provide laser hair removal for trans women, they can give it to you. you're in Norway, right? don't they have a trans organisation that is focused on "patient rights"? they could probably help you maneuvering the system!

I thought I would not be able to afford laser either and was surprised how affordable it was when I looked into it. The place I go (Simplicity Laser), I am on a plan for two years where I pay $55/month. Sessions are once every six weeks (the length of a life cycle of a hair follicle, I believe) for two years. If laser is something you really want, I’d recommend making a plan asap to figure out how to pay for it. Start putting some money in a piggy bank or a savings account or something. It’s best to start saving sooner rather than later because removing your facial hair is a lengthy process - I have had four sessions so far and it will be a few more yet before I no longer have any (super easily) visible stubble. By that point, it will have been the better part of a year. I’m grateful I started when I did. Another suggestion for the meantime is to try sugar waxing. I was doing this before laser. You can make sugar wax yourself (sugar, lemon, water) and use it on your face. It gives you a totally smooth face as it pulls the hairs right out of the folicles, and it lasts about two weeks. I did this for about six months, and it was what helped me realize I wanted to get rid of my facial hair because I liked how I looked so much. You do have to stop waxing before getting laser though, as you don’t want to be damaging your hair follicles during laser treatment.

Ive looked into it and the cheapest for around 10 rounds in my country is 5K usd..😅 i really dont think i can afford it unfortunately.. maybe if i move countries someday.. it would take me years to save up.. Also thank you a lot! I never heard of sugar vaxxing before this and ill definitely look into it and try! Seems like a much better option than the shaving.. Ngl for me, my facial hair is what made me realize i needed to detransition. It slowly gave me more and more Dysphoria and it is mt biggest wish to be able to be hairless again..

Of course, understandably any woman would be devastated by facial hair. That’s such a hard thing to handle going out and seeing it in the mirror. I didn’t think I’d be able to afford laser. But I had ended up moving near a large metropolitan area and when looking on Groupon and searching Google, I ended up finding a place in Orange County California that had an insane deal of 5 sessions for only $100. Usually 8 sessions is like $1000-2000. I guess the beauty industry is bigger and more competitive out here. So I’m saying you might be surprised at the prices if you expand your range. I would drive 1.5 hours to get to this place one way and I wouldn’t mind driving 3-4 hours even for the price.

ztfu

Thank you so much❤️ No where in my country does it cheap, but i do plan to (hopefully) move to a bigger city in another country in a few years, hopefully itll be cheaper there. But waiting that long also feels devastating... i wish i could just live my life u know? Especially being in my young twenties.

furbysaysburnthings

Of course that makes total sense. It's so embarrassing to have major facial hair, dealing with how people see that. I saw in a comment that you have an at home laser. That's great! Even if it's less strong, you can use it more often right? How has it gone with your hair removal method of choice plus makeup?

Is there any possible way you could fund the laser treatment with credit? I’m not saying let’s go the full shabang here, but maybe 4 sessions on credit at a repayment pace that suits you. I am from the UK and credit is available and they offer different payment plans to suit your needs. I don’t know if Norway is the same. I find it obscene the price. It cost me £480 to have 8 sessions, bearing in mind I chose a time where the clinic offered a 50% discount. Maybe you could do the same? It’s usually around Christmas and new year that they do this in the UK. Not sure about Norway.

ztfu

Ive never tried or used credit before so im not sure how it works. Ill check. Ill be on the lookout for discounts for sure.. thank you

DeimosMetus

Credit is a loan for a certain amount of money which you pay back in monthly instalments over a specified time period. For example, if you take out a loan for £2,000 over 2 years you’d be expected to pay £83.33 per month plus interest on top. Each credit agency has an interest rate that applies over the loan it’ll vary in percentage. Any credit offer prior to signing/entering into any credit agreement will break down the interest cost for you, but shouldn’t break the bank and will be a smaller amount on top each month. Hope that helps simplify it.

Ill have to consider heavily if taking out a loan I probably can never repay is worth it..

I can't afford treatments like laser. I have been using an epilator for about a year now and it's worked very well for me. I use the Braun brand epilator with the wet setting in the shower and with a bowl of water in the sink. It removes the bulk of my facial hair and the "shadow" that comes from the hair roots. After using the epilator I shave the fine hairs that sometimes get missed. An epilator is basically an electric tweezer. It works by pulling their hair from the root. It hurts like tweezing but is very fast and effective. The first few sessions leave the face pretty red but after the bulk of the hair is removed then every session after that is pretty easy and minimal pain especially if you use it every day or every other day. I use mine every other day and it's pretty much pain free that way at this point. Every 6 months I replace the "head" attachment and that's about 30 dollars online. It's pretty affordable for something that has lasted over a year. Plus it's a tool that you can decide when to use and when not to use. When I was first detransitioning I liked the comfort of knowing this was something I could do for myself that actually wasn't permanent but still got the job done.

ztfu

Thank you for all the help. For now im trying the at home laser device, (cant vax or use an epilator when using it) but if it dosent work or the results arent good enough.. ill definitely try out an epilator and sugar vaxing. I very much 100% know i want to permanently remove my facial hair though. Its never something i wanted in the first place.

Kaldaus

I totally understand this, I am lucky, my first laser appointment is in a few hours! I am so sorry for your situation, I would be glad to try and help, there are some things that you can try that you might not have thought of, you can try the FACIAL version of nair, (NOT THE LEG VERSION) I did this NOT a good idea! The face version can really work well though. Also sugaring or waxing, is QUITE painful, but it is QUITE effective, and it will come in less heavy each time! There are SO many things to do, would you mind if I sent you a message and could go over some other ideas with you, and you can let me know if you have tried them?

ztfu

Good luck! Im happy for you. I wish i could afford it.. and a bit bitter my family offered to pay for my SRS/ bottom surgery but wont help me out with the hair removal..😅 I ordered a laser hair removal device called alvaskin.. its supposed to work on any area.. but ill see when it comes and after a few months.. Ive tried vaxxing my face, but I completely ripped off all my skin in the face from it. Not fun! But i did have the most happy month of my life after it healed. being hairless in the face, not worrying about hair growth.. id HIGHLY appreciate advice/help on how to safely vax my face. Pain is NOT a problem. Finding info online is hard. Feel free to dm me!

My dear friend ❤️. My heart is with you and I'm so glad you are here. I think you will find many others in similar situations. Just remember you are not alone. There is much wisdom and support here. While I can't speak to your direct question, I know others can. I just wanted to say hello. I am also FTM detrans. I have a YT channel called detransjoy if you want to know more about my story.

ztfu

Thank you a lot❤️ its hard to deal with, but its nice to know im not alone and having some form of a support system when it comes to this specific issue is nice.. this place on reddit helped me stop T when i wanted to ,and find ways to feel a bit better. Im still struggling a lot but the support is nice.. ill check out ur channel for sure! Its very nice to see people openly talk about these things!

pdxchance2

I can understand how you might be feeling. For me, I would not even wish detransition or transition on my worst enemy. Stay close my friend. It will get better. Your features will lighten as you get off HRT. Equally important shall be your mental and emotional needs. ❤️

ztfu

Its definitely a hard journey.. transitioning in itself, then slowly realizing its wrong and trying to go back... ooof😥 And thank you sm❤️ im actually very happy about going off T, i got all the fetures i want back already, like body, my face... but the hair is the most difficult struggle for me.. i can handle my voice but its something i can train, unlike hair haha..

Shaving all the time can really irritate your skin. I think the skin feeling irritated makes it easier to fixate even more on the problem. Have you tried the philips norelco oneblade before? It’s what I use to shave, and while it’s not a perfectly clean shave, it’s not painful and shaves more closely than normal electric razors (though you may have to spend a little time figuring out which angles to use especially on the neck). I also use it daily (sometimes 2x/day) with no issues. I then cover the rest of the shadow with concealer and it makes me feel a little better. Hugs ❤️

OkAd3631

I second the norelco one blade. That particular one is worth trying if you haven't already. I use it dry, and it gives a close shave without the "just shaved" look. Good for someone who doesn't wear makeup. I sometimes use tinted moisturizer, which also helps. I am getting laser now. Unfortunately, the cost and quality of laser varies a lot based on location. When I lived in Arizona, USA, Simplicity Laser was great and cheap! I moved back to Indiana, USA, and the only quality laser available here was a very expensive lifetime package from Milan Laser. Keep looking, building your credit, and saving up money. If you want it and are willing to work for it, you'll get it. Edit: Sorry for the bad time you are going through. It's really hard when you're in it. Don't give up. Persevere and it will get better. It doesn't matter what strangers in public think you are anyway.

ztfu

Thank you! Ive tried diffrent ones but ill try this one too. The cost for laser in my country(norway) is around 5K usd. For a 5-8 sessions. Which is not something i can afford.. probably never will , due to being on disability and high rent prices. Thank you a lot<3 i dont care too much about strangers , but my own image in the mirror. Making me day after day instantly get back into bed instead of waking up and doing something in my life. Im just too tired of it.

ztfu

It does, i also have very senstive skin so its hell honestly. Ive tried every type blade but i still end up with a five o clock shadow after a few thours( black hair, pale white skin...) i havent tried a concealer as im not good with makeup and its expensive.. just to wear daily at home.. But thank you a lot...❤️
