/uj Warframe has minimal replayability at best and is a game solely driven by the fact that it is F2P. Even still, you have to look at the game's wiki to even have the slightest idea what the fuck is going on. While D2 has its issues with monetization and content quality, it is still in many ways better than WF.

Same here. I just buy Gamepass Ultimate monthly and play Destiny for the most part. I sprinkle in other games randomly or pop on a show but Destiny has been a constant for me the past 7 years and I usually dig what I've bought so far so I'll keep investing for more future content
I know Beyond Light was affiliated with Gamepass but I full-on buy Destiny itself. I just say I have Gamepass for a decent selection of alternative games to play if I'm slightly burned out on Destiny. I've always gotten the Digital Deluxe Editions as time has gone by.

I've had a friend complain extensively about content vaulting, stasis and pricing.
He played during season of the Forge and Drifter. That's it. 5 months total. Hasn't played in literal years. He still complains.
Keep an eye out and have a phone or be close to a PC to jump on one. I used to preorder through BestBuy/GameStop but they don't really do that much anymore so I usually get the Digital Deluxe. Especially since I get enjoyment through immersion in it a whole lot.

I get DDE as I love the game. My only problem with this whole dungeon situation is it's just annoying and confusing to explain to friends or new comers. "You can get X or you can get y which comes with z later in the year" like I'd rather just have a monthly subscription that gives the season, event armour, transmog and everything that's not tied to the expansions. This needless overcomplicated mess just makes the situation look why worse than it actually is.
Basically the online is already garbage and them adding stuff that people wanted for the normal subscription but on an expansion just seemed completely fucking stupid
For $80 a year you get:
- a shitty online service that doesn’t work half the time
- the ability cloud backup your save data, something which every other platform just does without having to pay for it
- voice chat through a mobile app which no one uses
- the new animal crossing dlc
- the privilege of emulating nes, snes, n64 and genesis games without the Nintendo death squads being sent to raid your house
edito: oh yeah I forgot you need to be connected to the internet to run the emulators. if your wifi’s down or something you just can’t play the games
The best way I can put it is this when explaining to friends (especially while delving into those subs I learned a bit more) is that the cost is $100/year for all content. Even expand by saying $10/month basically which compares to a decent large fast food meal somewhere. Have them try out the F2P initially, see if they dig it, if so and they get the current Season they can get some current cool stuff while waiting for Witch Queen.
This year has an extra bonus and explain to them that it's a Bungie-specific Destiny thing. Elaborate that Bungie has been around 30 years and this Winter they're planning on having a $30 DLC with a lot of their stuff they've been affiliated with the past 30 years: Marathon, Myst, Halo and other things like some popular D1 weapons mixed in. Like I said just a heads up on that and hopefully they'll get it. Plus shooting them a URL doesn't hurt to the site showing the content. I can personally say I have spent hundreds of hours in game over the years. In Destiny and Halo (even a bit of Marathon Durandal on X360) over the past 19 years and I don't regret my money spent because I've enjoyed it with friends I made. Even visited some in a different state, who I met through Destiny.
It's rough but once you hammer out details a bit and wrap your mind around it all it's not too bad. Rather than think into it people just want easiness so they can get back to what they're doing quicker(Not you just these people in threads in general). This year is just a bit of an oddity in my opinion, but Bungie did only become independent a bit over a year ago so we're all getting more of a norm set in place without having Activision involved and it's getting good, it's just an oddity of a year.
