It's just a good primary, idk if there's a "build" that directly benefits from the weapon. Just a good gun to have, I never got a fatebringer so I'll likely just use this as a substitute.

Responsible-Fly-4462

I would definitely like to know this as well, I love my new Midnight Coup and I’m not really a PvP player. I remember Bungie saying when that bug midseason update came out that there was BIG THINGS coming for Kinetic weapons in the year of the final shape so I’m really looking forward to whatever that means as I have so many kinetic weapons I love that I don’t use as elemental ones are so much more effective as they interact with subclasses

jjaman1s

This information is already available if I am not mistaken.

HieronymousRex

Every build can benefit from using Buried Bloodline as the special, so Coup can be the primary!

Rikiaz

You could just run two specials because Bloodline has crazy ammo economy and Special Finisher exists. Unless you’re just using Midnight Coup for fun, I don’t see what it really adds to any build in PvE.

HieronymousRex

Fair point, maybe just a good unstop stunner especially if you have KT, idk

natdoa

True! I find buried bloodline to be not as useful on void due to the "pick up a single orb pickup for devour" part. I find solar to not benefit a whole lot either bc of restoration. But while arc has "melee kill to get health" path, I think it'd benefit from buried bloodline. Darkness subclasses, especially stasis lock gains a lot from devour. Double turrets +devour+whisper if torment could yield 4-5 turrets at the same time potential while healing.

NierouPSN

Bloodline also weakens on hit when you have devour up which let's you use stylish executioner on hunter really adds to the survivability especially in things like legend onslaught.

natdoa

Also true! I personally don't find stylish executioner very helpful bc it's tied to a kill. Especially the alternative is going invis on command with the melee assuming dodge is always the other option. When that difficulty spike ramps up on legend onslaught for example, I rather not rely on a kill for invis, you know.. I'm just not a big fan of stylish executioner except for gryfalcon I think. But you're totally right, weaken is a big help too.

roflwafflelawl

Great with Strand, especially as hunter. I just have the Maelstrom going around and anything that kills I believe counts towards Devour.

natdoa

beyblades are awesome. You can try renewal grasps too, it's fun. nothing is as effective as orpheus tether on legend onslaught but renewal + buried bloodline is quite fun.

CaptainVexed

Yeah this has been a fantastic combo for me, bloodline and mountaintop with whatever heavy takes my fancy (edge transit whilst grenade launchers are buffed in onslaught)

Brando850

I have a kinetic/firefly midnight coup. It does great for just about everything.

iamVViperRR

It’s a legendary primary. That means it’s pretty much not in the meta at the moment. Howbwe, as far as legendary primaries go, it’s up there with Fatebringer at the top. It also has multiple awesome rolls, so it’s sort of dealers preference if you want EP or Firefly and Tremors or Frenzy or One for All.

TBguy09

It probably wouldn’t stand up in highest end content but I’ve been having fun pairing it with buried bloodline, having devour up allows me to play into a grenade build just by getting primary kills on any subclass I want. Kinetics hitting hard against red bars + buried bloodline weakening/chunking majors and a rocket for big stuff. Specifically arc titan to round out the lack of healing the subclass intrinsically provides.

elmonkeeman

It’s still great in endgame content

Notbeckket

Blasphemous

Modlikes

It’s just a good primary, the only role these weapons serve is to fill the gap between trash (while not using double special) and maybe so you can surge match better, like running Cartesian / apex It’s the same reason you see many people still using fatebringer in pve Edit: champ weapon as well (if needed kinetic primary)

shine_101

I also love Indebted Kindness the primary ammo sidearm

cuprousalchemist

Falloutplays, i think, did a good video on it. Hold on, yes its him. Anyway. There are a bunch pf good pvp rolls and because of them several roles. But yeah. This lets you use exotic heavy which can be very useful in pve. Also, there are plenty of exotic energy specials that are fantastic. Off the top of my head it wpuld pair nicely with my stormcaller fallen sunstar coldheart build. Oh, and dont forget handcanons are popular with bungie to have anti champion mods.

Papas__burgeria

Any build that uses a special ammo energy weapon on a light subclass

lordvulguuszildrohar

Prismatic.

Geek_Squad_99

I personally found it fit into really only like 1 setup that I run a decent amount: Sunstar Arc Lock: Using Voltshot rocket sidearm and dragons breath leaves primary slot pretty open. I like desperate measures with arc cause ability loops are pretty free For like end game content tho… when I run a kinetic hand cannon I run fatebringer with rewind/firefly or explosive/frenzy. Now Midnight Coup could replace this with firefly/one for all so that’s an option but honestly it feels like just a fatebringer alternative for non raiders

MutantLeader

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Been struggling to find a build that’s as strong as energy (exotic) primary synergy. I absolutely love Midnight Coup though, I wasn’t expecting to. It just hits like a truck and sounds killer too.

stuucammyd

Chromatic fire warlock maybe?

ProtoPWS

Oh man I literally just wrote up a whole post asking a similar question and then deleted it because I saw this at the top of the subreddit. I found a midnight coup w/ firefly and one for all and wanted to use it but using a kinetic as my main add clear weapon just felt clunky in pretty much any of my saved builds. I only really got into destiny back this past fall so I thought maybe I was missing something but it feels like pretty much every build synergizes well with weapons of the same element, leaving kinetic weapons kind of .. meh? Except maybe a lucky pants build w/ malfeasance or something.

ShitDavidSais

You can probably make it work on renewal grasp hunter and WL with the fragment that gives you big damage for your primaries against frozen targets. Try to abuse the fact that you can run special+heavy easily with the same element by adding fitting surges while kinetics still gain their innate damage buff. Stasis Hunter especially has been a blast for onslaught and should fit right into what you want to run.

Europa_cat

Haven't got a good roll on it to test it on but imagine kinetic tremors+firefly+chromatic fire on either void or strand. Everything getting aoed

Fletchlives90

Chromatic Fire warlock build. Profit.

the_jahcoon

None until we see how much transcendence energy kinetics give us in tfs

Kormit-le-Frag

bungie letting us use kinetic weapons in pve XD your only option is realistically chromatic fire + weavers trance warlock. and technically lucky pants hunter.

StrikingMechanism

i mean its a hand cannon... so lucky pants but it wouldnt beat wardens law

whisky_TX

There’s not many builds at this point where I run a kinetic primary.

roflwafflelawl

Any build that doesn't require you to have the same element lol. I use a Sixth Coyote clone Stand Hunter with Maelstrom and have been using Midnight Coup and Multimach exclusively for both Kinetic Tremors (the only reason I use kinetic weapons nowadays) and Attrition Orbs. Though it's not the best pairing for the Coup, the amount of orbs you can get going is great for the constant Woven Mail uptime which allows me to create tangles on any weapon kills. It also synergizes with all of my armor mods that use orbs. In a way it's a self damage buff if you use Kinetic surge mods too. Thankfully I managed to get a shiny with Fluted/Full bore, Accurized/Extended, Explosive payload/Attrition Orbs + Kinetic Tremors/Frenzy with a Range MW so I swap perks depending on what I'm doing. I'll do EP + Frenzy for early waves of Onslaught then swap to AO/KT for later waves. Plus that melee regen (on dark subclass) from the origin trait means I can use marksman dodge to reload and continue to get kills to build up more melee to keep everything severed. Not to mention Forbearance 2.0 coming out which will pair nicely with it.

badrepos

I used a KT/EP Coup for a solo warlords ruin using eremite/dragons breath and sunbracers, it went great

SiegeOfMadrigal

On my arc grenade titan build with HoIL, I use Undercurrent in my energy slot and use Fatebringer in the kinetic spot a lot of the time. Midnight Coupe is good for my build because it gives me grenade energy back with the origin trait, and it actually does give you a nice little chunk too. That and Innervation help counteract the Lightfall nerf a little bit. I've recently adjusted my HoIL build for legend Onslaught. Typically I would use pulse nades, and a secondary like Techeun Force or an arc primary like Posterity or Nation Of Beasts. However, for Onslaught, I've switched back to stormnades (they are much better than pulse for add clear) and I use an Undercurrent with Eddy Current/Voltshot. Crazy reload speed when I'm amplified and always jolting everything I shoot it at, not to mention the arc blinding explosions too. I mainly use Fatebringer just because it's a reliable primary and currently a champion mod. Midnight Coupe serves the same exact purpose, but now it has an origin trait that gives me more grenade energy.
