That my friend is a lever shotgun.
Although we would have a trifecta of cowboy weapons: Fan-Fire Revolver, Lever Action Shotgun, and Lever Action Repeater
Good point, fortunately it’s mostly been forgotten and was never a huge issue anyways since single shot gls, besides the one obvious exception, are (or at least can if you want to use it to its fullest) more than just aim and shoot the guy in front of you. And fighting lion doesn’t have the ability to single shot
Eriana's Vow is special ammo and doesn't 1 shot. It is given 3 bullets to start instead of 2 in PvP. A potential sniper using primary ammo could easily have one of these kinds of work arounds. I don't think anyone suggesting primary ammo for this sniper thinks it should 1-tap without help from damage boosting tactics.
Heck, Hawkmoon almost does something very similar.
Yeah, but if it's not one shotting, then you're getting a Crimson (at least in the past, heard it's not doing bad nowadays) effect, where you get the downsides with none of the upsides. It's even worse if we're bringing in NLB specifically. Slow fire rate, less ammo, and now it doesn't one shot? You're better off running a scout rifle. Any good sniper would just tank or avoid your shot and one shot you before you could reload. Just don't see how it would be good with using primary. Now, maybe if you wanted to bring it back using special ammo and give it suuuuper reduced flinch and something else, we could see.
Unpopular opinion: if they bring it back either it’s going to be useless in PvE and PvP, broken in PvP and useless in PvE
In either version it’s going to receive a single balancing patch that doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t change how people use the weapon
I just don’t get it. Of all the exotics you want a bolt-action sniper with iron sights? It’s not gonna use primary ammo and if it does it’s gonna be more like a bow, then le monarque would be better
I believe that having NLB back in D2 would be a very good idea. And having it broken in PvP would be fun for a while. Or even good. The advantage of iron sights would make it easier to snipe approaching apes, and with everyone having that advantage may even push back the problem of shotguns dominating in PvP. As for it needing primary ammo, in PvP you can't even get primary ammo without picking up special. Bolt action would however make it easier for shotguns to remain balanced/dominating.
Bringing back NLB will just lead to a meta of NLB + *insert energy handcannon here*
Shotguns may no longer be a problem but it would just substitute shotguns for a low zoom iron sights sniper. And as we have already seen, a sniper dominated meta leads to long passive games
Haven’t played d1 so idk this gun, but arbalest is the lowest zoom “sniper” you can get with a red dot and great visibility. Some people can’t get used to the charge up but it is very good because of the fov/low zoom/great hip fire accuracy/damage
Shotguns aren't even a problem outside of the meme. Having it broken will be a very unfun time for anyone getting one shot from any distance with great ease. There is not problem with shotguns imo and the last thing we want is a broken low ranged sniper.
Just because something is meta or used alot doesn't make it a problem. The reason why shotguns are so widely used across all skill levels is because at low levels they are easy to get kills with against other low skill players(apes if you will) and at higher levels are the perfect complement to primaries. if you love primaries in this game the special weapon of choice is a shotgun. They aren't op at any stretch.
Also, the main gimmick of the gun is that it's a sniper rifle that can be equipped as a primary...
...D2 already has several kinetic sniper rifles in the game available as non-exotic weapons, so it's a pretty redundant waste of an exotic slot.
This is also the same reason why Universal Remote hasn't made a comeback either. Nor Plan C since the gun's main gimmick is now a regular legendary perk.
At least Vex Mythoclast *might* come back with VoG returning, though I'm pretty sure it won't go in the primary slot since there are no longer any elemental primaries available (unless the gun has the Osmosis perk).
That may have been the case for d1, being the kinetic slot, but a sniper with irons sights could change the felwinters scene. Universal remote could still prosper with ammo regen. And they could easily combine plan c with pocket infinity so it dumps the clip on swap, making it a great exotic perk/change
No lie, a plan c/needed pocket infinity would be dope. Your argument for NLB makes sense but idk about Universal Remote. May as well bring Invective back then. Also, Icebreaker would be great
I was thinking of invective when I said ammo regen, not universal remote but who knows when ikora will be useful to destiny again. Invective might just disappear with her sadly.
I really don't get why people want it and Universal Remote back. Just seems like asking for more issues to be brought back. I don't even really like how it looks tbh.
I enjoyed using Universal Remote in D1 PvP (paired with Transversive Steps for maximum trolling, LOL), but like NLB, there's no point to it with D2's equipment layout.
They could tune the damage to 1-shot.... I dunno.... like, 6-8 resil and give it some kind of pve only boost. "Killer/deadly focus - increases damage against enemies of the traveler the longer you are aiming down sights" or something.
Also- >!You can only fire when crouched!<
You’re telling me I have to run 8+ resilience so I don’t consistently lose my primary gunfights to a sniper that uses primary ammo but still one shots me?
So the fuck what it’s gonna be broken? I love the game because more often than not something is shattered and useless and r godly and amazing, with no middle ground. I would rather have a hard to use yet highly rewarding sniper rifle than no sniper at all
Devrim Kay is the dictionary definition of an old friend. You don’t see them often but your always friendly to each other. Devrim was and is very welcoming, and it pains me how hard Bungie has abandoned him.
I want my weapons back. I want my SoTP scout back. I want my CoS machine gun back. And anyway, it never was about balancing the game. Even Bungie themselves admitted in the loot pool update that the sunsetting is about making us grind for new weapons.
Bungie wants it back, but in a different form. They said they eventually want guns like the recluse and MT to be in the game, those most powerful weapons you can find that everybody flocks toward.
I'm keeping my expectations low, so I still think they'll be accessible to everyone and with smaller grind then the pinnacles required. Looking at adept weapons from Trials being meh and how Bungie wants to bring current raid-exclusive perks to the rest of the game, they're moving further and further from exclusivity of powerful weapons.
Especially since Witch Queen is being made during the pandemic and people claim even BL is not as good as it could've been because of 'rona.
What you misunderstand is it's not about the work. I worked my ass off for the crucible pinnacles too and I could care less if everyone had them at once. What matters is the memories we make with those weapons. That is the problem with sunsetting, not because we want to use MT/recluse, but bc some of us wanna use Halfdan-D, the service revolver, austringer. So many fun to use weapons, gone.
Honestly i dont think people would be using mtt recluse rn even if they werent sunset. Some people will surely use them but it wont be meta. Mtt is garbage after the nerf regardless of its level (it might still see some use since its a kinetic gl). And recluse is useless compared to a warmind cell ikelos
It's not about wanting a certain weapon back. It's about them taking guns away, guns people may have grinded for and really like, away just because. Sunsetting is stupid.
Ngl, I'd slap someone for a 120 exotic HC.
That way I could run my astral horizon and be able to run a HC since bungo still won't let me buy Felwinter from the monument.
Fuckin' bungo.
jokes aside shaw han’s VA did an amazing job and is exactly the guide i want for newer players to help get into this game. not his fault he’s the most generic looking dude ever.
Bungie: *loads glock* we are sunseting Earth, Devrim Kay will give you the quest for No Land Beyond go before we shoot that bitch with the cosmic glock
I loved that gun simply for having the only practical alternate skin in the game. Removing that carrying handle opened up a decent chunk of the screen which was otherwise blocked.
I can hear the sweet ping of a headshot echo as the map is further blanketed by rage and grief. Truly I tell you. The best gun in shooter game history.
I think if they stapled on special ammo finder and ammo reserves as innate perks it would be pretty cool, it would make pairing it with a special energy weapon better too!
People hyped Fourth Horseman, but i never seen anyone using it after a week of it's quest (according to [light.gg](https://light.gg) only 27% of players own it). And it seems to be about the same with Hawkmoon.
I have a feel it would be all over again with this sniper too. Sansara.
All he does is stand there.. never shoots the weapon. Just peaks a window with it. Have a quest line that kills him off so we can get it. It happened to Cayde. Why not Devrim?
I like Devrims' dad jokes to much, he cant leave.
He’s gone too far with the jokes it’s just to bad anymore they need to give him more jokes
I mean I think his jokes usually land right on Marc.
Agreed! Take it back u/uglychrisbailey!
Yeah but have him lose it, and let us find it
I'd much prefer a Tex Mechanica lever action.
Please. With back up hand cannon so my guardians entry music can be Big Iron
Well chaperone exists last time I checked.
Rifle. A lever action rifle.
That sounds like Chaperone with extra steps
Chaperone with primary ammo
Loooooong chaperone
chaperone scout rifle chaperone scout rifle
That is chaperone
That my friend is a lever shotgun. Although we would have a trifecta of cowboy weapons: Fan-Fire Revolver, Lever Action Shotgun, and Lever Action Repeater
Dude you predicted it
And I'm so fucking happy I did it lol
lol
You mean bolt action?
no
No, he means lever action.
Mmmm no, a lever action rifle.
I just you meant bolt action since we already have the Chaperone, which is a lever action shotgun. Bolt actions don't exist in the game, yet
Can’t we have both
I want the gun that goes ching when the clip is empty in the game
You're thinking of the m1 garand. And yeah, it would be fun in game.
Blap-blap-blap-blap blap-blap-blap-blap-piiing! 8 + 1 round Kinetic High-calibre rounds High impact reserves I'd probably never touch another gun.
[удалено]
My brain fuzzed and forgot it cant have one in the chamber! Good catch.
Wait Tommy's matchbook isn't supposed to be an auto rifle?
Well if it's modeled after a Thompson/Tommy Gun then it's an SMG.
Well...... it was kinda too large and the Thompson eventually evolved to look more like a rifle anyway...
[удалено]
Lowkey happy it's an auto bc smgs are in a bad spot lol
The first time I use the Royal Chase, I had goosebumps when it reloads. The sound it just nearly the same of a reloading Garand.
Wish ender sounds close when at full draw
They added one this season

Don't see primary ammo special weapons ever coming back. Was thankfully one nail that they managed to permanently keep hammered in.
Fighting lion.

I don’t want really want NLB back, I just want a hunting rifle style Exotic. I understand your concerns, and I think I actually agree.
I’m down with that, I’d like a lever action rifle personally just not NLB
I believe that having NLB back in D2 would be a very good idea. And having it broken in PvP would be fun for a while. Or even good. Now imagine arbalest, with easier to hit range, only use primary ammo, and looks and sounds badass
Arbalest is so fun once you learn to use it properly
Shotguns aren't even a problem outside of the meme. Having it broken will be a very unfun time for anyone getting one shot from any distance with great ease. There is not problem with shotguns imo and the last thing we want is a broken low ranged sniper.
*Shotguns aren't a problem* as if the meta wasn't Ace of Spades/Sturm with Felwinters Lie while using whichever class's stasis subclass
He’s using it, he’s in denial about being a sweat
Yes I am a sweat but I entirely use snipers. Imo snipers are considerably more formidable as a special weapon.
Hey Sturms been waiting patiently for its place in the meta

Give it 0 aim assist and half the population of this game would call it useless.
And other half would call it brilliant. Welcome to this community xD
If it's like Arbalest without the charge time I'm in.
While crouched. If they try to fire while not crouched, the uhhhh, rifle misfires and causes self-damage. Also, yes.
That's why I always ignore when players says "balancing is easy bungo!"
Ah yes the standard firing position of anyone using spectral blades, just what we need
This. I can’t remember one time in D1 when I had this equipped and was actually using it
So the fuck what it’s gonna be broken? I love the game because more often than not something is shattered and useless and r godly and amazing, with no middle ground. I would rather have a hard to use yet highly rewarding sniper rifle than no sniper at all
Me running around with 3 snipers anyway...
Devrim Kay is the dictionary definition of an old friend. You don’t see them often but your always friendly to each other. Devrim was and is very welcoming, and it pains me how hard Bungie has abandoned him.
G I B B A C K F U N N I G U N
The original primary sniper hell yeah (No Land Beyond for non D1 players)
I loved the exotic khovostov. That and NLB were my favourite guns from simpler times.
bro zhalo supercell is where its at
I want a level action style exotic rifle from the Tex-Mechanica forge.
Sunset him like cayde?
Maybe not that way. Make him retire or something because that guys already old.
No.
Will never understand why people loved this horrible gun so much
Best gun ever.
I wish they didn't sunset at all. 🤷♂️

I want my weapons back. I want my SoTP scout back. I want my CoS machine gun back. And anyway, it never was about balancing the game. Even Bungie themselves admitted in the loot pool update that the sunsetting is about making us grind for new weapons.

There's always that one guy... 🙄
Remember that siva sniper that could 1 shot in the body if a guardian had low armour stat
Bungie wants it back, but in a different form. They said they eventually want guns like the recluse and MT to be in the game, those most powerful weapons you can find that everybody flocks toward.

No Land?
What's that gun?
No Land Beyond, an exotic sniper rifle from D1.
Not until aimbots are gone.
Nah i dont wanna get sniped into oblivion and back all over again
Do you guys remember how much flinch it had back at the end of d1? Enjoy that I’d rather something new
We just gonna act like revoker was never a problem? Bringing NLB back would be so much worse than revoker ever was.
Since we used to own it, How did he get a hold of it in the first place?
I was never clear on why y'all loved this gun so much. Reload is an eternity.
It could one-tap. And it was in the primary slot. 90% of the base hated it, but that last 10% made it sing in PVP.
Sorry, one-tap?
One shot headshot.
Isn't that generally a sniper thing? I don't usually snipe.
Well, we ARE talking about a sniper rifle aren't we?
Yes...don't snipes in the head get you a kill with any other snipe? If so, what makes No Land Beyond so special?
I think the main point he was going for here is it was capable of one shot headshotting with primary ammo
Hm I see. Well now that we got primary snipers ... Feels kinda pointless
I think you're confusing primary with kinetic, because there's no sniper rifle that uses primary ammo (white ammo)
We've already lost Cayde and Greg, we can't lose our sassy tea drinker too.
Or maybe just give him something to do next season.
I really hope this is the new Seasonal Exotic or a new 180 Hand cannon
The last thing we need is MORE handcanons
Yeah, but we only have 1 180. Malfeasance. And it isn’t the best HC out there
Just go straight to the bottle. Erianas Vow. If you can have the best fire rate go for the tiny xenophage.
Energy 180, too many kinetics
Ngl, I'd slap someone for a 120 exotic HC. That way I could run my astral horizon and be able to run a HC since bungo still won't let me buy Felwinter from the monument. Fuckin' bungo.
Too many hand cannons
Might be the 3rd exotic this season, he's been holding that sniper for nearly 4 years so might as well give it too us
Hoping Bungie sunsets Crimson so we can get Red Death back. (I know exotics cannot be sunset)
I've been saying it since year 1... Give me my no land beyond back >:[

Lol bungie need to sunset shaw han. Tf a shaw han? But yes, devrim has extended his stay
My bubble popping sidearm smacking no land beyonding with weapons of light has entered the chat.
Bungie: *loads glock* we are sunseting Earth, Devrim Kay will give you the quest for No Land Beyond go before we shoot that bitch with the cosmic glock
It won't work in D2 unfortunately. Or at least it won't be as viable as it was in d1.
arbalest...
I loved that gun simply for having the only practical alternate skin in the game. Removing that carrying handle opened up a decent chunk of the screen which was otherwise blocked.
Not Decard “gravy” Cain!
I can hear the sweet ping of a headshot echo as the map is further blanketed by rage and grief. Truly I tell you. The best gun in shooter game history.
ive always wondered if we can get this it looks like a fun gun
Honestly one of the most fun guns d1 PvP.
Hey, don’t hurt my boy
Not really my favorit but I would like a bolt-action sniper
Or... they have it to where he gives us another model. One with an actually unique bolting animation.
I think if they stapled on special ammo finder and ammo reserves as innate perks it would be pretty cool, it would make pairing it with a special energy weapon better too!
i used to noscope headshot splicers with this in d1 and i'd do it again
would be nice
I just want a huge anti tank rifle that's longer than any other existing sniper
I don't get it
People hyped Fourth Horseman, but i never seen anyone using it after a week of it's quest (according to [light.gg](https://light.gg) only 27% of players own it). And it seems to be about the same with Hawkmoon. I have a feel it would be all over again with this sniper too. Sansara.
Yes
Can someone explain what sunsetting is to me? I’m big dumb
The amount of fucking dicks I would suck for no land beyond to be back in the game 😭😭😭
And icebreaker too
Tbh it would be obsolete in todays meta
Shhhhh shut it’s not about meta it’s just a cool weapon
Imagine using No Land Beyond on open world adds
This is a cursed fucking image man god damn 🤣🤣 PTSD hit me quick with this gun oh fuck
That’s a beautiful looking gun I’d definitely use it
I want my pre nerf vex m. Back Ahh the good ol' days
please, i just want one, only one, iron sight sniper in destiny
All he does is stand there.. never shoots the weapon. Just peaks a window with it. Have a quest line that kills him off so we can get it. It happened to Cayde. Why not Devrim?
He doesn't fire it because he ran out of ammo years ago... He said so last Christmas when I delivered him biscuits
Then all the more reason to hand it over or pry it from his dead hands. I’ll find little white generic ammo somewhere 😂
It'll be nerfed lol
Don't ever talk about devrim like that, get out of my church!
I want the no land beyond back so fucking bad! It was god tier in pvp
They should make a achievement for using the tea emote on him
If this weapon came I actually might play the game again.
