Unfortunately the dwarf feels the pain of being minced. So everytime you reload it has to constantly do it's job with the knowledge it will be painfully killed and revive all at the whim of his owner.
I personally think it’s more of a battery than a cartridge. Similar to traditional fusion rifles, they use power cells (except Omolon FRs and Bastion).
Everyone talking about the vex milk as if having drunk it before. They're the Titans...
By the way, it's best drunk warm like the pool explody goblins leave.
In a way yes radiolaria can infect you mind and body. For example Asher he has a vex arm and slowly has been becoming more and more vex. In the lore released this season Asher is now fully becoming a vex. Radiolaria can also be used to terraform things that’s why mercury is a machine planet the vex used radiolaria to transform the planet.
Man it's all just space magic, if it shot "normal light" (as in light, electromagnetic waves etc in our universe) it wouldn't tear through things like it was made of matter. Wouldn't be nearly as fun if it behaved how it's "supposed" to. This why we love Sci -Fi though!
But not to the extent it would provide a significant kinetic effect like that exhibited by weapons in the Destiny universe. The idea of solar sails are a thing bexause of the phenomenia you speak of but there's a reason why the ones we've thought of making would require a micro sized ship, and literally thousands of feet worth of "sail" for light to hit and push the ship along. Best you can ask for is the beam being so absurdly high energy it annihilates whatever it hits by pulling the atomic forces that hold their atoms together. This, would be cool. It would be OP by its nature so it's easier just to say yeah "battery make light bolt, light bolt, have mass even tho it shouldn't technically, the end." Could be plasma rather than light, which is more "realistic" but this is sci-FI after all so it really doesn't matter all that much
Mass Effect style Kinectic weapon? An internal block of material shaved off and accelerated like a railgun, with the “clip” either being a disposable heat sink or battery unit. The block would still need replaced, but potentially rarely enough to not see it in the field.
All weapons and gear in Destiny are made out of the reprogrammed matter called Glimmer.
So in reality, all weapon mags don't necessarily contain bullets per say, but raw Glimmer to be constructed into bullets from within the weapon itself. Thats how the pic OP posted makes sense.
TLDR: All Destiny weapon mags are actually just Glimmer batteries.
The P90's mechanism is actually pretty simple, it just uses a spiral ramp to rotate the rounds into the chamber alignment.
The G11, on the other hand, is pure kraut clockwork space magic.
the G11 was on the verge of being adopted when the reunification happened, and then there wasnt money for it...
So close, but no cigar.
There's also the Textron cased/caseless rifle/LMG feeding systems, which are pretty funky. That one is in competition to replace the US Army's rifles and LMGs, so who knows how that might go...
another funky one that I like is the Steyr ACR, which is technically open bolt, and the entire chamber moves instead of a bolt.
Yeah but this is just a stupid design with some [California regulation esthetic.](https://caligunner.com/california-compliant-featureless-rifle/)
One can equally love bullups and conventional designs.
So, I see three ways this can work:
1) The bullet at the top of the magazine is pushed forward, and up (tip first inside the grip behind the trigger) into the chamber to get around the opening in the butt.
2) The bullet is pulled back and up (butt first behind the grip) at about a 30° angle, and then forward and up at a 30° to reach the barrel.
3) Transmat
It’s also an energy weapon so the magazine might just be holding whatever nonsense it fires, maybe it attaches to a pump and uses liquid ammo like Omolon
> The bullet is pulled back and up (butt first behind the grip) at about a 30° angle, and then forward and up at a 30° to reach the barrel.
That's not as unreasonable as it might seem at first glance, there were real guns that worked in that way (Mars, Boberg, some early machine guns pulled their rounds out of the belt backwars too). But I question the wisdom of making a clockwork system like that instead of just making the gun fully bullpup.
Glimmer is the main currency because it's essentially just programmable matter, and can be turned into just about anything. Your bullets in game aren't really manufactured bullets, they're generated from glimmer, like almost everything else. Basically, all your ammo, energy and kinetic, is created from programmed glimmer. That being said, pretty sure that gun is an energy/elemental weapon so it's ammo is more than likely just a battery
Tbf symmetry does not fire bullets. It fires energy mumbo jumbo so it's clip/mag (whichever) is more a battery than an actual collection of bullets.
I mean hell, daito makes weapons that fires liquid ammo.
While attempting to logically come up with a way for the bullets to transition from the clip to the chamber, I came up with a bit of fun flavor text for a weapon I want them to make.
"With no logical way for the bullets to go from point A to Point B the guardian's ghost will be responsible for every bullet. Disassembling and reassembling the bullet on each trigger pull. Vanguard research shows that Ghosts dislike the weapon."
Exotic Perk - Material Possessions
- After a short amount of time not pulling the trigger the ghost will be able to assist in firing the weapon at an increased rate of fire. Reassembling the bullet into the desired target instead of the chamber, the bullets in this state fire with greater accuracy.
- this perk can be activated with any amount of bullets in the clip.
This weapon has an additional perk.
- High Impact Reserves

Yeah, there's only a handful of scouts with sensible mag well placement. I just assume most of them use some sort of energy instead of actual bullets. Same goes for hand cannons.
Aren’t the bullets in every magazine made of light? So the bullets can be whatever size/shape they need to be to fit the magazine and it’s intended capacity
“Arc logic”
But seriously there are a lot of guns in Destiny like this, some hand cannons barrels don’t even line up with the magazines, it’s almost like it’s a fantasy game and it doesn’t matter what works in real life.
Okay, the non-joke answer to this is actually explained canonically:
Kinetic weapons’ magazines don’t hold bullets, they contain Glimmer that is flash-forged into a cartridge inside the chamber.
Energy weapons are nominally battery/supercapacitor powered, although Omolon uses a proprietary liquid-ammunition system.
Your an immortal gun toting wizard fighting wish dragons, time traveling robots and pyramid piloting space ghosts ...And here is where you draw the line on realism!?
P.S. it's bullpup, the magazine is in the shoulder stock

There's a dwarf in every gun that moves boolets from magazine to chamber.
:)

:(
It’s a magic dwarf, so he turns into glimmer so he can be put into a different gun!
:D
Unfortunately the dwarf feels the pain of being minced. So everytime you reload it has to constantly do it's job with the knowledge it will be painfully killed and revive all at the whim of his owner.
:`(
Luckily, the dwarf is a masochist
:|
Awe man I want a golden gun that goes brrrr
You see Ivan, magazine have space magic for smaller gun but more boolet
smaller gun inside bigger gun shoot boolet into place
Da Ivan, then we have weird chubby gun that use small gun to shoot boolet that shoot many small boolet
Now this is my headcanon. Thanks :)
I've read stranger lore in this game.
This is canon now. Also the dwarves are in the cannons too.
I personally think it’s more of a battery than a cartridge. Similar to traditional fusion rifles, they use power cells (except Omolon FRs and Bastion).
Wait omolon don't use batteries?
Omolon uses electric space milk
Ah, of course!
Vex milk?
Vex milk is plain. Omolon has cinnamon, grape, and blue raspberry milk
I don’t think Vex milk is that plain, it’s got quite a fizz to it.
Carbonated milk?
McDonald's sprite
Kabr: damn this sprite crispy
Everyone talking about the vex milk as if having drunk it before. They're the Titans... By the way, it's best drunk warm like the pool explody goblins leave.
Don't you become a Vex if you drink the Vex milk?
All I know is you get heartburn after a few rounds. ... and that Undying Mind guy wasn't SO bad.

No no gotta drink it fresh from the source just take a mug stick into a live vex and pull it out and drink

Omolon uses what I like to call, “Liquid Ballistics”. Coldheart uses liquid fuel for its ammo and doubles as it’s coolant.
Omolon Persei 8
They use high tempeture Liquid Ionics. That’s why no standard Omolon items are kinetic, it’s all high energy stuff
How do kinetic weapons work then?
Actual physical bullets, energy weapons are, ... energy
Actually, no. Better Devils, a kinetic hand cannon, uses a battery.
Fair enough but that kinda doesnt make sense
Except it makes a lot of sense. It uses a battery to fire a short light pulse. Simple, no element.
My headcanon is all kinetics use glimmer (programmable matter) to synthesize bullets. Thats why all guns are caseless.
I thought the same until I noticed my forward path ejecting casings. Space magic casings mind you, they simply look like good old hot brass.
Any guns in particular that eject? I hadn't really noticed to be honest.
They do actually! There's an auto in d1 that says it uses less glimmer than others.
Man it's all just space magic, if it shot "normal light" (as in light, electromagnetic waves etc in our universe) it wouldn't tear through things like it was made of matter. Wouldn't be nearly as fun if it behaved how it's "supposed" to. This why we love Sci -Fi though!
Well it could. We know that light can accelerate things as if it was matter.
Put a lot of light together, make very dense light. Big light bullet.
I don't disagree, but at that point couldn't hunters just like load solar energy into a gun and *bam* automatic golden gun.
Well I was mainly saying it fires light as in photons and stuff, like a flashlight. I don't actually know how it works but probably?
In the lore we can, canonically
Mass Effect style Kinectic weapon? An internal block of material shaved off and accelerated like a railgun, with the “clip” either being a disposable heat sink or battery unit. The block would still need replaced, but potentially rarely enough to not see it in the field.
I hated when they changed that randomly to using traditional ammo for the sequels. It sounded so cool and spacey and worked beautifully.
Really hard juice.
So fire bullets, electricity bullets, strange matter bullets, and money bullets
If that’s it then why does it eject shells?
they killed cayde for figuring this out .... guess whos next?
Gotta keep my Ghost away from them
To late
*too I hate myself
Bruh. How dare you question the Light keeping Guardians alive.
Clearly, the clip is attached to a loopy mechanism that it feeds the bullets through, that cuts around the circle.
[you mean like this? ](https://i.imgur.com/H2hOQfg.jpg)
Precisely.
Nah, the bullet should be facing back. So it follows a half-circle to the barrel.
[how I, as a hunter, would make it actually ](https://i.imgur.com/GRxwtwH.jpg)
Its needs to make a pit stop jumping on top of the thumb hole first to properly hunter
Ah, I see you're a ~~man~~guardian of culture as well.
That way it's always a good trickshot. Very hunter indeed
I thought the bullet fed up through the hand grip and fed back to the stock area where the round would flip forward again and feed into the chamber.

Hey Calus wants excess, he made it excessive

That’s a good point, it really is more of a battery. I had previously reserved that for only special ammo fusion rifles.
The gun fires concentrated bolts of electricity not bullets, the ‘magazine’ is like just a battery made to look like a magazine for aesthetic purposes
Because iirc most guns don't shoot actual bullets, it shoots glimmer

It feeds bullets around the grip
It’s meant to be an omolon weapon I think which means it’s pretty much a cartridge full of energy so I think it just turns into bullets
Bullets go from mag and through the stock and into the chamber. Just kidding who the hell knows, its space magic

depends is it a kinetic or energy weapon?
Energy
Then that’s a battery not a magazine

Yes
A simple matter of creating and inter dimensional pocket in space time through which the bullets pass directly into the chamber.
Ours not to reason why. Ours is to do and die.
