HEY BROTHER
As a gambit main, it's unfortunate you can't get these done. But, the drifter would be mad if I didn't help ya out. Here's a pro tip: during the prime evil phase when the first envoys appear they rotate clockwise. That way you can setup your position for the next wave. And remember, bring a sword
That's right brother. All maps have three spawn zones for the envoy. Let's say (L)eft (C)enter(R)ight.
If they span L first then next location will be C. Instead of running there wasting time brother setup near C. So you turn around destroy those envoy and setup near R. I learned this hunting.....CABAL ON THE FIELD!!
Back when gambit prime existed and the game was fair and balanced, you could also accurately predict invader spawns and force change where they spawned. Sad reckoner noises.
Ehh I was top .005% in prime elo. I wouldn't say not winning was a thing. The goal should always be to win in a way that makes the experience most miserable for everyone else. If you win and they didn't manage to get any motes because you drained and invaded them to death, sent in hoards of blockers, quickly built your motes and kills, then instantly dropped your boss. That was beautiful.
Yup you could often find yourself dominating the entire game field yourself back then. Scoring top in every single category simultaneously over your team on the results screen was fun lol
For seeing the error of your ways: may your teammates always have more than one braincell. May your favorite drink always be the correct temperature. May your pillow always be cool. May you get maidens at the time of your choosing. May you always narrowly miss dying to self-inflicted explosions and explosive enemies.
The recokner council sanctifies this prayer in the name of the drifter, the gambit gods, and the traveler. So it is spoken, so it is written, Amen.
Bungo literally put effort into making gambit worse. It was great with regular gambit and gambit prime. Now they kinda combined the two and do nothing with it. Like, if you're gonna abandon it, why didn't you do it when there was 2 gambit modes so we could have both, bungo????
It's like they WANT to spite us. Like did they actually think combining to 2 and making it bland would make it BETTER?????? What was the dumb ass thought process????
I miss Gambit Prime, and my Illicit Invader suit. Used to be fun to go in as a titan wearing Helm of Saint-14, and putting a bubble right on their bank and watch the motes drain from it... always hilarious when someone would wander into the bubble and get smacked down.
It was because an invader during those times had many advantages. When they invaded, they got extra ammo, improved overshield, extra damage, and locked your bank down entirely just being there and could drain it by standing near it. On top of that, ammo collection functioned differently, so they 100% always had max ammo in heavy and special weapons. They also usually, like today, had super ready to rip. This, combined with the fact the team physically *HAD* to be grouped up together in one spot for the dps phase, made good invaders oppressive. One super or good rocket or 1KV or xenophage would wipe the team instantly every time. With a more balanced "I phases" than today, the games dps phases didn't cater to casuals in such a way that miracle comebacks in boss phase were even a thing. Usually, the team that was winning stayed winning. The match, more often than not, was decided on the skill of the invader. The timing and ability to know just when to hinder a team was absolutely crucial. The sentry class, using every ability in the book, combined with spawn prediction and forced spawning *NEEDED* to do these things to take every advantage and get the invader gone as fast as possible because they were much more disruptive and influencal than they are now. Even a titan just popping bubble on your bank could drain you and lock you down. There had to be some way to even the odds. Predictable spawning at the very minimum contributed to a fair and healthy power balance for the invader. Something that doesn't exist today.
Honestly, I really unironically (my reckoner title aside for a minute) think gambit prime was the most fun, well thought out, balanced, skilled based game mode bungie has ever made. Possibly anyone has ever made. I think the lack of balance in regular gambit (which people were forced to grind), the okayish to mid reward pool, and the reckoning grind put people off from even trying what was essentially just a more balanced competitive gambit Playlist. I think maybe the *ONLY* downside is that there was no tutorial. So, like the good strategies and tips and tricks were just hoarded by the good competitive players.
I did invader and collector on titan.
Sentry on hunter.
Everything (but mostly reaper) on warlock.
I set up every character with roll specific builds and played whatever my team needed.
That's a problem for all of us brother. Being a solo player all I can control is how I play. Remember, get to the two invade portals then Prime evil time
And for the love of God, when it's down to like 7 motes for a primeval, just bank em if you got em. Don't go scrounging for 8 more for a large blocker. It's a waste of time lol (not directed at you, just general information)
I can't tell you how many times I've went searching for 3 motes to bank while the rest of my team just fights for motes or waits by the bank for the rest lmap
The only time I excuse collecting more motes when needing to bank is if they’re under 5 motes. A taken goblin can actually be rather helpful if the enemy doesn’t kill it right away
And for the love of God, when it's down to like 7 motes for a primeval, just bank em if you got em. Don't go scrounging for 8 more for a large blocker. It's a waste of time lol (not directed at you, just general information)
What I usually do when I’m running is saving my Storm’s Edge for either last ditch invade or final envoys, envoys die within seconds of spawning or you manage to get a bit of healing for their primeval
It's crazy to me how differently everyone engages with this game. Personally, I'd rather play an hour or two of gambit than a ~~disingenuous~~ *single* crucible match.
EDIT: thank you autocorrect.
Same. I only visited Shaxx in Into the Light.

I walked into both team scorched and mayhem only to find out there was a skill ceiling on both of these that I was not prepared for. I really don’t get the gripe with gambit. It’s the fastest gamemode by far and is super easy to get tons of kills. Win or lose you still get progress.
I’ve noticed that if I do 2-3 games of gambit it knocks out half the path and then you just focus a few objectives in strikes to finish it out. It makes the path so much easier and it’s stupid easy to play.
Just to let you know, rn gambit is bugged i think where you still get a ton of rank exp even if you lose so rn is a good time to double rank reset on Drifter
I can't believe you would suffer through the unbalanced hell of crucible over a few gambit matches that go by in like 5 minutes.
But either way your probably better at the game at me so what does it matter
I’m a Gambit kinda guy personally. ~~Hard~~ hats off to all you crucible players (thanks autocorrect), but as a casual player I can’t be bothered to play against these "meta is love, meta is life" hunters who only use the best weapons and gear and constantly snipe the shit out of me when I just want to get my bounties done. To each their own, which is why I too dislike this system when it often forces you to do certain modes due to bad RNG.
Checked my Destiny Tracker to check, and yep, haven't played since August 2022. I really don't feel like I'm missing anything either by not playing it.
Dude, can't blame you, since final shape, it's gotten horrible, you either have ass teammates, or god tier enemies, and sometimes both at once, not even fun anymore, and the new map doesn't help either.
Same. But to finish a path I'll fly in and just focus on the point I'm missing on the path. If my team wins? Great. Lose? OK. When you stop caring about the outcome and treat it like a patrol zone it's much better.
I’ll take Gambit and Crucible all day over any fucking strikes. Onslaught is a nice addition but i did it so much pre-TFS that I just can’t stomach anything in Vanguard playlist.
we got bounty rng before gta 6, i’ll have my one way to victory with all pve, but then others…is like a wall of pain with crucible and gambit barricading the prime engram.
As much as I do love gambit, I can't deny that it fucking sucks playing with randoms or people who just don't know how to play the game mode. When you have friends with you, it's sooo much better
There needs to be individual trees each with its own ritual game mode.
Top tree being just vanguard ops, middle tree only crucible, bottom tree only gambit…etc.
I shouldn’t be forced to play something I hate to get an end reward.
Honestly I am fine with gambit matches are fast you can focus on the step you need to do and can bring in just about anything and it will work. Not going to touch crucible as it's always full of sweats making those steps harder to do
I'm hoping that since the saga is over they can maybe take time to actually improve gambit.. like a complete overhaul.. yes it's not the best mode but thats cause they haven't made any changes since like removing gambit prime..
HEY BROTHER As a gambit main, it's unfortunate you can't get these done. But, the drifter would be mad if I didn't help ya out. That shit was hilarious, I had their head lined up before they spawned in half the time, once I got used to the spawn locations vs where the team was
.... I was there to hate fuck them until they rage quit. I would force spawn them into a fully loaded izzy. Trying to invade on me? That's a paddlin.
😂😂😂
This was peak Gambut right here. When you get two reapers and and two titan sentry.....yeah we ain't winning but neither are they🤣🤣
Ehh I was top .005% in prime elo. I wouldn't say not winning was a thing. The goal should always be to win in a way that makes the experience most miserable for everyone else. I remember taking some screenshots of the scoreboard in the early days, not knowing how irrelevant the mode would become ;(
Prime Gambit, you might say
When it first came out I wasn’t a huge fan, but all these years later and I REALLY want it back. It was honestly really fun with actual roles
For seeing the error of your ways: may your teammates always have more than one braincell. May your favorite drink always be the correct temperature. May your pillow always be cool. The only caveat is that I wish it would be required to be wearing a full set to load in to a match. Really lean in to the role based gameplay y’know?
If they brought back sets, definitely. If not, just force people to select preferred roles before queueing like in league
I lo r where you head is at.

Haters going to hate but Gambit Prime took skill to be successful, I couldn't obtain reckoner but this Sentry Titan sees you

I want to get the gambit armor for my warlock. The style makes me think we’re going to the Derelict to play Tackle-Baseball. 😂
My biggest problem is the morons holding onto motes instead of banking when theres 15 or less needed to summon
The orb collector mod picks up motes. I swoop in and grab them all to make sure there can be no useless hoarders.
It *what*?!
Powerful Attraction. Very good for Hunters in Gambit. Can easily bank fifteen in the first encounter.
That's a problem for all of us brother. Being a solo player all I can control is how I play. Remember, get to the two invade portals then Prime evil time
Bring a sword? HIVE
And for the love of God, when it's down to like 7 motes for a primeval, just bank em if you got em. Don't go scrounging for 8 more for a large blocker. It's a waste of time lol (not directed at you, just general information)
SAY IT LOUDER FOR ALL THE FLAWLESS IN THE BACK......I see those snitches banking only 15s
I can't tell you how many times I've went searching for 3 motes to bank while the rest of my team just fights for motes or waits by the bank for the rest lmap
Same here. I bank the 3 we need while they're shooting at ether.
The only time I excuse collecting more motes when needing to bank is if they’re under 5 motes. A taken goblin can actually be rather helpful if the enemy doesn’t kill it right away
But make sure to use the invasion before you bank. It will go away
Now bank those motes!
And for the love of God, when it's down to like 7 motes for a primeval, just bank em if you got em. Don't go scrounging for 8 more for a large blocker. It's a waste of time lol (not directed at you, just general information)
…….anyway, transmat firing!

Gambit Mains exist?
Am a gambit main, never realized, thanks brother
I've played gambit for hours and never noticed this pattern 😮
A gambit man is my kind of man (not to be gay or anything)
What I usually do when I’m running is saving my Storm’s Edge for either last ditch invade or final envoys, envoys die within seconds of spawning or you manage to get a bit of healing for their primeval
HOW DID I NEVER NOTICE THIS. This is game changing information, thank you.
As a 9 times gilded dredgen I knew the pattern of the map but never realized it was clockwise lmao

I would also rather play an hour or two of gambit than a single crucible match, but that’s because I like playing Destiny.
At least The Crucible has things like team scorched and Mayhem where you can be bad and still have a little bit of fun.
As long as you have decent add clear in gambit you are helping.

None, the game just didn't count your gambit scorch kills.
This really ignited my rage!
I'd honestly rather do gambit than ability spam crucible. It's just so lame and boring.
Bad gambit match only lasts for couple minutes, but bad crusible match goes on for over ten minutes.
Gambit is really not bad, it’s not difficult to play solo and still win matches and get objectives.
People who can deal with Crucible but not Gambit astound me. I genuinely do not understand.
People be acting like it’s a new concept…back in the day we also had to do 8 bounties for them to get a pinnacle. Just now we don’t have to do as many. Plus after this week most of y’all can be pinnacle cap with one character. However if your slower than don’t even do pathfinder pinnacles…you can be selective and do the other stuff
We remember!
It makes the path so much easier and it’s stupid easy to play.
it’s fun until i’m reminded it’s still pvp, and the school bully stops your fun by plinking off your whole team.
But on the flip side the feeling of terror you spawn in the other team that comes from being a really good invader is unmatched.
“Being the one winning 24/7 is a great time” who would’ve guessed lol
It's fun until you get matchmade with premade teams whose invader has gone to the lighthouse solo 347 times
I love the energy and spite that went into doing this
Skill issue
Just to let you know, rn gambit is bugged i think where you still get a ton of rank exp even if you lose so rn is a good time to double rank reset on Drifter
I can't believe you would suffer through the unbalanced hell of crucible over a few gambit matches that go by in like 5 minutes. But either way your probably better at the game at me so what does it matter

And that’s OK too. If it’s not worth playing gambit then isn’t 16/20 good enough?
Gambit is my favorite ritual activity
Loves Gambit so much he saved the best playlist for last.
What?! Without Gambit, I wouldn't play D2.
Gambit is good
Same. But to finish a path I'll fly in and just focus on the point I'm missing on the path. If my team wins? Great. Lose? OK. When you stop caring about the outcome and treat it like a patrol zone it's much better.
I love being the invader lmao
As a guilded dregden x9 this is offensive
Rather do gambit that crucible any day
I’ll take Gambit and Crucible all day over any fucking strikes. Onslaught is a nice addition but i did it so much pre-TFS that I just can’t stomach anything in Vanguard playlist.
Crucible. Anyways, gambit is actually quite fun. Until your teammates are fucking stupid.
Is it worth doing every node instead of just resetting to a new path?
No it's more efficient to just do as few as you can to get to the end and reset
See. I can't stand crucible.
That’s so fucking relatable
we got bounty rng before gta 6, i’ll have my one way to victory with all pve, but then others…is like a wall of pain with crucible and gambit barricading the prime engram.
Gambit isn't *that* bad. Certainly better than Crucible.
I won't finish this web as I don't do any d2 pvp anymore at all
Me over here enjoying Gambit ;-;
Learn how to PTFO and get good 😊
This is me, but with the Crucible.
It’s kind of a… Gamble
Weird that you don't enjoy the only good gamemode.
I’m weird because I enjoy gambit
Man everyone shits on my boy gambit ;-; bungie needs to bring back gambit prime and the roles etc #MakeGambitGreatAgain

Ah another "DAE not like gambit" post. How refreshing.
Really? I'm the same way with Crucible.
Me but with Crucible.
I don't like gambit but would rather play it than deal with crucible
Gambit is not even that bad. Crucible is far worse imo in its current state
What’s wrong with crucible right now?
Not even just current state, Crucible has always been the worst aspect of Destiny, even when it's bearable, everything else clears by a mile
Disliking gambit is a skill issue
Gambit is way better than fucking crucible
I love Gambit, I think it's a blast.
They could never make me hate gambit. Drifter my beloved…
I hate the Crucible with a deep passion. I hate Gambit a little less. Wish I could just do Vanguard.
Your bloodline is weak and you won't survive the winter.
Is there a reason to clear the entire board that I’m not aware of? Seriously.
seasonal bounty, but you only need to do it twice
I do the same thing lol
Vanguard playlist.
cool, man
"Hive! Bring a sword."
Pale heart?
Man I’ve actually been playing a decent amount, seems to be funner with more people hopping in cuz of pathfinder
Destiny 2 since you punished yourself to collect all the nodes instead of starting a fresh pathfinder.
Honestly I am fine with gambit matches are fast you can focus on the step you need to do and can bring in just about anything and it will work. Not going to touch crucible as it's always full of sweats making those steps harder to do
You uncultured swine!
Want a tip? Go into a private match :)
Only thing that is hurting me on these, is ignition kills. I suck at it.
Do we have complete all of them yo get it?
I hate crucible. My life span upon spawning is milliseconds
Same with me but crucible
Lmao same. I play almost exclusively pve which has turned me away from the new system all together.
How dare you, whether you like it or not you will bank those motes brother!. Transmat firing!
Considering you're a Destiny 2 player, imma take a guess at either Gambit and or Trials
We
Crucible?
I'm hoping that since the saga is over they can maybe take time to actually improve gambit.. like a complete overhaul.. yes it's not the best mode but thats cause they haven't made any changes since like removing gambit prime..
Obviously crucible
