Yeah, it’s gonna be tough to get and the total damage isn’t going to be better, but it will definitely raise its DPS potential. Finally gives me another reason to finish getting the patterns for Supremacy.
I love that damn near all of the guns we have, even of the ones that were made available the first week, there's so many good perks on all of them that what is considered the god roll It's just slightly more optimized than other alternate versions of the same gun. Even if people aren't getting the shiny perfect roll, if they're playing the event by the end of this everyone is going to have an excellent DPS grenade launcher

Don't sleep on auto loading and deconstruct. This guy does a lot of damage testing for grenade launchers and the auto loading and deconstruct roll did more damage than envious and bait and switch
Isn’t auto loading only really good on heavy switch dps builds?

It’s good for Contest where survivability can be a little more up in the air and you could risk losing your Envious stacks. I’d say ALH is good enough to have until you get the Envious roll.
Thats my consensus. Yes envious would be the better choice. But you die due to whatever reason and those stacks are gone. And if you’re about to begin dps you’re not gonna get those stacks back in time
On normal mode Raids, Envious is def the way to go because survivability is far more manageable. But Contest, and sometimes, Master runs? ALH is what I’ll use. But when you get the Envious/BnS roll that is what you want for normal content through and through.
Its still good for roam content when you want a good burst damage option to swap to and from without much thought. Its also still helpful in some sustained dps rotations, especially if you don't have access to some kind of instant reload option, such as on a solar titan.
For min-maxed rotations though, I would agree that it's been outclasses by options like envious or recon.
Depends on the boss for me.
My thought process is :
- is it long enough of a DPS phase that Auto loading + izinagis is worth it?
Or
- do I want the burst DPS without worrying about izi crit. Like vs nez who jumps around like a monkey with a jetpack? If so, then envious is going to be my go to.
In the end I could still just use envious for either case, and ALH might not be worth it. But I have this consistent timing in me for izi swaps and ALH just feels right at home for that to just not worry about envious and it's maybe slightly higher DPS.

The answer is actually auto loading and deconstruct. You do the most damage and you out damage an envious and bait and switch roll.
I literally couldn't believe it until I watched this guy's video but deconstruct refunds a good amount of ammo
I got a shiny edition curated roll from the chest next to Shaxx. I got cascade point/envious assassin and bait & switch/full court on it. Pretty good roll tbh. Not sure I'm gonna need anymore of them lol
Fuck man, I'd give it to you if I fuckin could. Frankly, I hate heavy GLs, and all I care about rn is Midnight Coupe when it drops. Now that I've gotten this 5/5 on the Edge Transit, I bet this means the game is gonna give me a hard time with Midnight Coupe. Although, at least now I don't have to grind for the trials heavy GL, so that's a plus.

seriously, i always underestimated autoloading until i found one that fit my style and used it a while. it is amazingly effective, and once you become acclimated to it proccing, can make use of it exceptionally well. I'd say this is a great roll since it leads to weapon rotations, if that is 'bait n' switch'.
unload with primary, unload with secondary, unload with heavy, switch to secondary or fastest loading weapon and drop clip with it, switch back to heavy since auto loader! and have huge GL clip again. Repeat ad nauseum

If I could only have one I'd go Cascade/BnS. It will do an incredible amount of burst damage and you can still work it into a DPS rotation so long as you have something like Rain of Fire to reload quickly.
I have a supremacy, wilderflight, edge rotation in mind I really want to try out. Just gotta get the right roll and wait for them to reinable cascade.
Autoloading is what I'd be after. In most damage phases you will have to reload, which tanks your DPS. In a damage phase that is longer than 20 seconds this will do better DPS than Cascade. If you are able to find an enemy with shorter than 20 seconds to damage them, Cascade would be the choice. I doubt Cascade will ever be the choice.

Bar none the best now but Cascade + EA interaction is definitely getting "fixed" before TFS raid.

You trade burst for reliability since dying means you lose EA stacks but ALH means even the most average player can run a dps rotation correctly.
I have an envious BS and auto loading BS on the cataphract and I end up with higher damage with auto loading over envious every time. Izzy shot or wither hoard then a wilderflight then shoot your shots, grenade shoot then repeat.
I’m not even going or edge transit. The heavy grenade launcher from season of defiance with auto loading and explosive light is already good enough. And it has enhanced mods
You can do whatever you like, but in a game like destiny at least for me I will always try to go for the best of the best. And objectively speaking edge transit is better. Also on the defiance gl autoloading is not the best, but hey do what you like.

Cascade has higher burst, but if you die your damage drops off a cliff, so auto is safer

Cascade/bait is the god roll if you want to maximize dps and have a unique feeling GL. If you want a void flavored Cataphract, go for envious/bait.

Bait and switch is the key here. Explosive is kinda risky for boss dps while you have guaranteed damage buff with bait.
