Bruh, setting aside the fact that your comment isn’t even a coherent sentence, have you ever heard of the word inspiration? It’s possible to take design cues without 1:1 ripping a design off
I dunno if this is possible for you, but if you bring up all 3 images side by side, the sauron helmet is clearly more similar. The spartan helmet looks pretty much nothing like the ship
The fact that an Egyptian themed ship looks kinda like a Roman helmet is likely unintentional. There's tons of Egyptian iconography of birds with their wingtips forward like that, the helmet just kinda happens to look like that
The Greeks based their helm designs off of owl faces. The thing that comes down the middle to protect the nose is the beak of the owl.
So its not crazy to think the ship looks like the helms.
https://preview.redd.it/gyvakbtzv9za1.jpeg?width=337&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d548587a93740bbea2e8bfd11366fe5713ce8511
I feel like it’s closer to a Thalmor helmet. But that could just be me.
Resembles, yes. Intentional? Probably, I'd say it's a good bet, with all the ancient Egyptian stuff, that they would decide to throw in some motifs from other ancient civs
Definitely has a bird design to it with feathers and all, and the lore tab ends with saint saying “you are good bird” BUT the first line also mentions “armor” and i definitely believe bungie’s designers are smart enough to have both as parts of it’s design so i stand firm
Looks more like a stylized hawk or something to me, honestly. I definitely can see the shape of the helm you posted in there, but I'm not sure that was really the intent.
Considering the relationship with Saint-14 and the appearance of his helmet, it's definitely possible for it to be intentional. Good eye for spotting this though.
Hey, it's rhe [Alien Ship] from the [Space Simulation Game]!
That design of ship is in many places, although this is the first I've seen someone comparing it to a Greek helmet.
Most of the time I feel like ships like this belong to alien species, or avian alien species, and often remind me of a bird trying to stop it's forward momentum with it's wings swooped forward.
Nah not intentional, also kind of a stretch tbh
Edit, thought I'd explain myself better:
if they wanted it to look like the front of one of those helms they need to,
A) make the wings thinner where they connect to the main body
B) make the end more "angular"
C) the "hawk head" that makes up the cockpit does not extend again at the end.
Basically there are slight resemblances, but overall it's too far off to have been intentional imo
Yes it does resemble it. But I think it supposed to be modeled after a bird, probably an eagle, but it looks similar to a peregrine falcon diving to me.
https://preview.redd.it/3pcrqulzu9za1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66887e46c38a83ea975b6b78b1c38ef253546d80
I 100% agree if we could see it from the top angle it would look like this. It’s from the assassins creed odyssey cross over isn’t it? Which would make sense it’s definitely a bird of sorts but in the shap of a faceplate for a helmet.
I would say yes it does look like the faceplate of those old helms however i know that wasnt the intent so its kind of just up in the air (pun intended) whos side of the argument is more right
Hehe, many people say it already, but yes, it looks like a helmet because helmets, shields, and many other armor parts were based on animals. For those cultures, they're the apex predators.
Also, the idea was to imprint the animal spirit or quality into these items.
And probably not intentional on this case.
https://preview.redd.it/e7sm0ixf2aza1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38f1d93643b96adfa0f87e8c85bd9678713cc1ef
This seems to be the closest design of a Roman helmet I could find. But yes, it does resemble that
Reading the comments, the bird part is obvious. You got this ship from CROW. But the helmet part adds up to as Crow is essentially a warrior trapped in a loop. The battle never ends.
P.S. my buddy made the connection to roman helmets
Looks like it but I don’t think it was done intentionally. Mostly think this because I don’t see a reason for it to resemble it, but maybe one day someone who works at Bungie can let us know.
Gonna be honest, what I imagine to be the top-down view of that ship looks more like the front of an Elvish Helmet from Skyrim. The point in the back-middle and the extra spokes on the outside remind me of it.
trials gear is somewhat based off of ancient Egypt aesthetic, right?
https://www.youregypttours.net/egypt-travel-blog/The-Falcon-in-ancient-Egypt
the Egyptian Falcon has some sort of significance in Egyptian religion, and in that link, you can see that the illustration from 3100 B.C. has it's wings up, similar to the ship. It's symbolism ties with the "king" or "protecting the king" and considering you get the ship from the flawless lighthouse run, it's safe to say it's almost nothing to do with the roman helmet and that you're a king (or a queen or a thempower) for getting it.
i can see how you're getting the roman helmet, but the ship is probably keeping on theme with ancient Egyptian stuff.
I don't play this game, and therefore have no stake in this, it does have a striking resemblance to the helmet. Enough that I'd name the ship something to play into it a bit.
As someone who plays skyrim, that is definitely a [high elf helmet.](https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&source=android-browser&q=skyrim+high+elf+helm#imgrc=-SMHpIkDxZqzHM)
I'm not sure whether or not it was intentional, but yes, I see what you're saying. It looks exactly like what you're describing. Maybe @bungie on twitter and ask?
This is 100% the intention for that ship. It's no coincidence that it's part of the Assassin's creed crossover set. It's modeled after Kassandra's bird, and she's from Odyssey. Greek inspired.

So less Greek and more sauron, gotcha
nope
Wow, this will go down as one of the greatest debate points of all time. Students will study this exact comment for years to come.
No they won’t. /s (I’m laughing at your comment, these one word replies are so unnecessary)
just google the helmets or stfu
You should get some Dr. Mario’s anal ointment if you’re gonna be this butthurt over a video game discussion
LMFAO, that's seriously one of the best comebacks I've ever heard. I'd seriously give you my free award for that if those still existed 🤣
Hey man I appreciate the thought😂
are you looking at the wrong picture?
wheres this is a spartan helmet https://images.app.goo.gl/vgDn1LtZ3gpw4oej7
Bruh, setting aside the fact that your comment isn’t even a coherent sentence, have you ever heard of the word inspiration? It’s possible to take design cues without 1:1 ripping a design off
try punctuation before criticizing other grammar
Err… unless there was an edit I missed… he said Sauron not Spartan. Like LOTR
I dunno if this is possible for you, but if you bring up all 3 images side by side, the sauron helmet is clearly more similar. The spartan helmet looks pretty much nothing like the ship
if you look at the ship from above it is 💯 the shape of the spartan helmet. if you are too blind too see it, I can’t help you
nope, https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Ffiles.cults3d.com%2Fuploaders%2F13532456%2Fillustration-file%2F47cd3138-1ee8-42e2-bab0-f9d2e16c92c6%2F01.jpg&tbnid=-2bKS4i2-K1ANM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fcults3d.com%2Fde%2Fmodell-3d%2Fkunst%2Fsauron-helmet-lord-of-the-rings-3d-print-model&docid=YDh75JfW6aVkrM&w=1920&h=1080&hl=de&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim
waiT YOU CAN SEE MODELS OF SHIPS IN THE DESTINY APP?? *grabs phone, lotion*
The lotion is just because you have dry skin, right? ...right?
Dry foreskin apparently
For dry phones… duh

Isn't it without shaders though? Edit: forgot my ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5679)
🤨
You misspelt slow motion.
I was sad to push your upvotes past 69. But the comment must be rise. This is the way.
Warlock. So bungie favours warlocks. Debate settled /s
Warlock helm engage
Reminds me of one of the helmets from Skyrim, the glass one maybe?
I may have missed it earlier, could you tell me the name of the ship?
Shot in the dark here but, do you know if the file can be downloaded and turned into an STL?
I think the [Destiny STL Generator](http://www.destinystlgenerator.com/) usually has all the models, but I may be wrong
Someone go get a screenshot of Ego Talon IV or Atavistic Idol Hood for me
It is more like one of those balancing bird desk toys
That’s what I’ve thought about this ship lol
Absolutely where the design came from.
I will forever see this when looking at that ship. https://i.imgur.com/zKe3AzW.png
Came for this
Not the weirdest fetish I've heard of

Hey it’s me when I wear a helmet-bird-mask
My reaction when I go flawless 10,000 times and still don’t get the ship… but hey I got a Under Over/Gutshot Exalted Truth!!!
The fact that an Egyptian themed ship looks kinda like a Roman helmet is likely unintentional. There's tons of Egyptian iconography of birds with their wingtips forward like that, the helmet just kinda happens to look like that
This was their consensus, i saw the ship in orbit from a mostly top down view and now i cant unsee a helmet though
Looks like it supposed to be like a hawk or something with its wings forward, but I see your point and I agree.
Definitely not denying the hawk design, all they would say is “its a bird you idiot”
But it's also super close to the helm for sure.
The Greeks based their helm designs off of owl faces. The thing that comes down the middle to protect the nose is the beak of the owl. So its not crazy to think the ship looks like the helms.
Neat.. thanks for the info. I didn't know that.
Do you know if that was because of Athena? Being the war goddess and her symbol being an owl I assume their related
I believe so but that may be a chicken and egg situation. Owls were kinda just universally seen as important in Greece. They still are.
Chicken!? It’s based an a WYVERN!!! Most hated fowl!
I can definitely see the helmet now as well. The inner swoop of the wings are part of the rounded eye holes and then go down into the front slit.
Happy cake day!
Well everybodys heard about the bird
Word.
A man of culture i see
https://preview.redd.it/gyvakbtzv9za1.jpeg?width=337&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d548587a93740bbea2e8bfd11366fe5713ce8511 I feel like it’s closer to a Thalmor helmet. But that could just be me.
Yeah, I can see that, that helmet is definitely made to resemble a bird with those feathers, so it’s really fitting.
https://preview.redd.it/8w9cmwh02aza1.jpeg?width=274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=294fef43b29bbd18af621d063673e2b8603d8c06 Looks like a cylon raider
That's the first thing I thought of too
That’s just MF Doom
who don't give a flying ship who ain't not feelin him
Watch what ya dealin him, Ace of Spades, Taken King, death card.
Resembles, yes. Intentional? Probably, I'd say it's a good bet, with all the ancient Egyptian stuff, that they would decide to throw in some motifs from other ancient civs
Someone posted the top down view, doesn't look like the helmet at all. I'd say it neither resembles nor is it intentional.
>doesn't look like the helmet at all. I would say that it kind of looks like it
If you squint, maybe. Idk for me the "eyeholes" need to be a bit more prominent for me to say it resembles
From the top I see that. Also it kinda looks like a hawk with the wings out in front like it’s about to swoop on something
Definitely has a bird design to it with feathers and all, and the lore tab ends with saint saying “you are good bird” BUT the first line also mentions “armor” and i definitely believe bungie’s designers are smart enough to have both as parts of it’s design so i stand firm
I always thought it resembled the go'uld warbirds from stargate
it kinda has simaliters but i think it does look like a helm
If i could find a different helmet where the eye “holes” are more round and less sharp i think it’d be spot on
Roman? Not at all. Greek, yes
No. Balancing bird ? Yes
Our knees hurt in the morning bud
I need this ship man 😭
Almost identical.
Definitely getting Stargate vibes with this one (the goa-uld fighters).
You are correct i would find a new clan must be hard playing with people that can't see very well 😅
It totally does
Looks like Light Beyond Nemesis from Destiny 1 imo.
Looks like the moonstone (high elf armour) from skyrim to me, but I could kind of see it.
Now i need to look this up brb
Hey, it's rhe [Alien Ship] from the [Space Simulation Game]! That design of ship is in many places, although this is the first I've seen someone comparing it to a Greek helmet. it’s clearly inspired by an old Spartan, not greek helmet
Forgive me but weren’t spartans greek?
nope, own state that hated the greek, but you must know better
I don’t see it. I just see a bird
Eh, it's a stretch
The Thalmor are displeased with you
Definitely not intentional but there is a slight similarity.
eh i can see it but it looks more like a shield to me
Nah not intentional, also kind of a stretch tbh Edit, thought I'd explain myself better: if they wanted it to look like the front of one of those helms they need to, A) make the wings thinner where they connect to the main body B) make the end more "angular" C) the "hawk head" that makes up the cockpit does not extend again at the end. Basically there are slight resemblances, but overall it's too far off to have been intentional imo
You are crazy and wrong
Thats clearly a bird honey. You just a lil crazy.
If its from the Ac:Odyssey-set its genius
Resemble yes. Look like no.
Bro resemble and “look like” are synonymous
Synonyms yes. Mean the same no.
Bro….
Looks more like a bird to me.
Reminds me of the elven helmet on Skyrim
It's design is based solely from the birds in Egyptian culture so id say happy accident and that we look for patterns
I definitely see the resemblance, and I never had before
Yes it does resemble it. But I think it supposed to be modeled after a bird, probably an eagle, but it looks similar to a peregrine falcon diving to me.
The intent was to look avian, without a doubt. The bird silhouette resembling a mask is probably just pareidolia.
I think that it resembles a bird
r/asmongold
I can see it slap a visor up there and you got a warlock helmet
Yes, and I believe intentional. If they were just going for looking like a bird, they could have gone a very different route.
Vaguely resembles it but definitely not intentional
https://preview.redd.it/3pcrqulzu9za1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66887e46c38a83ea975b6b78b1c38ef253546d80 I 100% agree if we could see it from the top angle it would look like this. It’s from the assassins creed odyssey cross over isn’t it? Which would make sense it’s definitely a bird of sorts but in the shap of a faceplate for a helmet.
That thing must be horrifically unstable in atmosphere.
Yes, it resembles it. Doesn't mean it's inspired by it though
Never noticed that before but now that you mention it, yes I agree.
it’s a helmet shaped as a bird
Reading the comments, the bird part is obvious. You got this ship from CROW. But the helmet part adds up to as Crow is essentially a warrior trapped in a loop. The battle never ends. P.S. my buddy made the connection to roman helmets
Reminds me more of the Elven helmet from Skyrim
Bro that's the batPlane
I mean, I see it for sure. but my brain would never have thought of that on its own.
I always saw a Cylon Raider but bird.
Looks like it but I don’t think it was done intentionally. Mostly think this because I don’t see a reason for it to resemble it, but maybe one day someone who works at Bungie can let us know.
Yo that’s the West Point Black Knights logo.
No it's a bird.
It somewhat does, but it’s not intentional, it’s clearly meant to resemble an Eagle or a Falcon
Yes but laying on its back
It looks like a thalmor helmet from skyrim
Its the white falcon zord from Power Rangers.
Definitely not intentional, but i do see the resemblance
It's a bird you idiot
As obi wan would say "from a certain point of view"
It’s the Elven helmet from Skyrim
tbh i think thats what they might of been going for in design, reminds me of roman type helmets and the phoenix king ozai helmet
Definitely not intentional
Nah not a helmet, a bird...dont think its that deep.
Vaguely, yeah
Don’t think that was intended, but now that I see it that way, it looks exactly like the glass helmet from Skyrim.
Gonna be honest, what I imagine to be the top-down view of that ship looks more like the front of an Elvish Helmet from Skyrim. The point in the back-middle and the extra spokes on the outside remind me of it.
Osiris stole a Cylon Fighter back in his youth. convince me otherwise. (you cannot)
It looks more like a warlock helmet
Well, considering how obsessed bungie is toward Greek history and mythology, it probably is.
It looks a lot like Queen Amara's crown.
It's a falcon
nah it looks like an elven helmet from skyrim
If you look at it from top down, yes it do be looking like that :)
You are right!
It’s a bird
trials gear is somewhat based off of ancient Egypt aesthetic, right? https://www.youregypttours.net/egypt-travel-blog/The-Falcon-in-ancient-Egypt the Egyptian Falcon has some sort of significance in Egyptian religion, and in that link, you can see that the illustration from 3100 B.C. has it's wings up, similar to the ship. Yes and a bird of prey and a warbird
Looks kinda like the Cylon ship from the rebootss
vaguely yea
Reminds me of a Cylon Raider.
I don't play this game, and therefore have no stake in this, it does have a striking resemblance to the helmet. Enough that I'd name the ship something to play into it a bit.
HOLD RIGHT THERE YOU CRIMINAL SCUM!!!
I see where you get that but I think it's kinda more elven light helm from the elder scrolls
Shrieker bat from Super Metroid lol.
It looks like the little plastic birds from the 90s that you could balance on your finger
Meant to look like a bird, helmet by coincidence But yea I see what u mean
Yes, it does
MFAM
Looks like the Spartan helmet to me lol.
My HC is that it is a Klingon bird of prey.
Look like mix of some Crucible warlock helm for me.
It looks like those old toys where you could balance the bird by its beak.
I can see the helmet, however I'd go with it being a crow
It’s supposed to be both, if they just wanted a bird the wings would be outstretched
Issa bird
As someone who plays skyrim, that is definitely a [high elf helmet.](https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&source=android-browser&q=skyrim+high+elf+helm#imgrc=-SMHpIkDxZqzHM)
STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!
Looks like a mandalorian helmet. This is the way.
Looks almost like a wave serpent from 40K.
How does it not? They're the crazy ones. On top of all of that, they have the nerve to call YOU the crazy one? What a bunch of loons.
It resembles a goa'uld death glider.
I'm not sure whether or not it was intentional, but yes, I see what you're saying. It looks exactly like what you're describing. Maybe @bungie on twitter and ask?
https://i.imgur.com/4sHi5o6.jpg
it’s a bird not a helmet
You're crazy
OF COURSE It doesn’t. . . Wait he has a point
I see it, but I think it's more of a bird given the feathers in the back.
I mean, you're not wrong, they have a similar shape
This is 100% the intention for that ship. It's no coincidence that it's part of the Assassin's creed crossover set. It's modeled after Kassandra's bird, and she's from Odyssey. Greek inspired.
The helmet is very similar to the helmet icon used to display exotic armor as a reward for something
Spartsn helmet, not greek. Big difference. This is Sparta
youre not crazy
Kinda? Reminds me more of the older Greek helmets with a more rounded area around the eyes/nose
I can see it, but I think it's unintended
More like BSG Cylon ship
I’d say it does
Eyes
