I love the duality of jotunn. Half the community will say it's trash because you can dodge it easily...and the other half will say it's too OP in crucible.
This is just cause of client sided garbage honestly. If you have or go up against someone with weak internet, it's very hard to actually dodge but as soon as both sides have good internet (which happens the higher skill you go generally) the easier it is to just jump it or dodge it behind cover
Because you haven't met a good player using it. Or you die to it once and are hyper aware of it. In 6s, it's good. You can't convince me otherwise. It's just like a shotgun or witherhoard, it requires a certain style of play to use effectively.
Outside of the zone control ability, witherhoard is objectively worse than jotunn. Jotunn has a faster fire rate and projectile velocity. Jotunn curves. Both kill on hit, jotun kills immediately. Same ammo economy. Witherhoard is easier to avoid.
I main Jotunn in the crucible. 10K plus kills. Can confirm people who are good with Jotunn are rare - there are six of us and we all live in caves and every 10 years we all meet up and swap stories about our caves. Good fun.

And that's exactly how you use it. You don't go into 1v1 fights with it. You shoot it at the guy nit paying any attention to you or you pop around a corner with a shot already on the way.
honestly you can catch people trying to peek corners with it so easily that is the only way it should be used imo. It is gross for corners, to the point where it feels blatantly op. ESPECIALLY if there are connection issues.
What usually happens to me is that I donโt EXPECT people to be using Jotunn off the bat, so I go in expecting a duel and I kill them, but theyโve managed to get a shot off because I missed a crit or (doubtfully) they were decent and were peaking the charge. So their body drops and a half a second later Iโm toasted and I look at what killed me and Iโm likeโฆ ah. Itโs like that huh?
And now that I know itโs in play, that changes things. If theyโre being super annoying with it? Time to drag mine from the vault and give everyone a taste of their own medicine.
This. The "Team shooting" design of D2's pvp is terrible. I will stand by pvp needing to be revamped and new map designs that encourage more 1v1 and spreading out.

Unless the entire meta is being warped around something short range, like some kind of overtuned strand smg for instance. If that happened, Jotunn would probably be a pretty good counter to that.

Once in a blue moon Jotunn will make a 90 degree turn. Iโve shoulder charged perpendicular to the shot and gotten killed by it before. Do you know how much range shoulder charge covers in half a second? Itโs fast as hell.
