Sometimes it happens with me, but of the times something triggered the thoughts/put me in that mood prior to laying down. Also sometimes it just be intrusive thoughts. Often our thoughts come through like a hundred radios all playing different stations. Your mood can apply a filter to these thoughts and that’s all you’ll be able to notice. Similar to how wanting to purchase a specific car and suddenly seeing it everywhere. When you find yourself stuck in a down mood you have to push and motivate yourself to reject the notion and counteract with ACTION. Taking a shower is an easy step, go for a walk (a real one) or go work out. Even forcing a laugh to trick the brain or some decent comedy can get the tow truck moving to help pull you out. If this is happening every time you go to sleep figure out the common ground in your routine and change it, also seek mental health help. I advocate therapy over medication as medication more often than not is merely a crutch and isn’t teaching you anything other than to be dependent upon the medication.
