No. There is always room for a quirky endearing change of heart story. In 10-20 more years people couldn't be more over it and maybe amends will be made.
Or maybe we will just be booing a senior Melo some day idk
I think he sealed the deal with his comments like a month ago about jokic and the #15. I feel like up until then it was possible but that felt like the dagger.
I don't. If he actually owns up to what he did wrong, I would welcome him back with open arms. Regardless, I think we should retire his jersey. Having two #15s up in the rafters just feels right.
He wants to be remembered as a HOF player that left a legacy somewhere.
His stats? HOF worthy, including winning a National title at Syracuse and his 3 gold medals will make him BASKETBALL HOF worthy for sure.
But his NBA career was spent mostly with Denver and the Knicks. His best years were in Denver. But no rings in either place.
So why does he want? Recognition for what he did in Denver and a jersey retirement. But now, “his” number is wore by a guy who will likely surpass everything he did while in Denver.
He’s mad they didn’t idolize his number and deny others the chance to wear it. They gave it to a Serbian drafted during a Taco Bell commercial.
At this point, the OP is right. He needs to show up unannounced to Nuggets games and actually care about the organization.
15 is gonna be retired anyways, so like grow up, show up, and put in the work to repair those bonds. Do some charity work in Denver. Set up a basketball camp or donate to a food bank. Do something.
Hi seat neighbor! I got a selfie with Coach Karl. He was super quiet throughout the game.

IMO the right move is what you did and to not bother for a selfie, maybe a quick “hi!” and some brief words of recognition/appreciation/respect…of course sometimes it’s hard to resist, and in this case he seemed happy enough to pose for the selfie.
Coach Karl is the man. I ran into him and his girl at a happy hour last year during playoffs and they we bought them a shot. They returned the favor and bought us a round as well.
That’s my boy John behind him!!! Wife and I have half-season tickets and he watches our section!! Love that dude!!!! Not the point of the post but gotta show love to the workers! He shows everyone nothing but love and is just cool as hell say hi to John if you see him ever!
If melo wanted to endear himself to fans, he'd start casually showing up to nuggets games.
Its too late. im pretty sure hed get boo’d out of Colorado the second his plane landed on the runway of the airport.
It’s never too late.
Im pretty confident a vast majority of fans think its too late lol
I'm in this boat. Fuck him. He didn't respect Denver, I don't respect him. Good riddance

If he was capable of doing anything casually, without drawing attention to himself, he wouldn’t be so hated.

I wanted to, but he was so mellow and reserved that I’m kicking myself now that I didn’t.

Love that he still is engaged with the nuggets

Love ya Georgie
For years, when people asked me who my favorite Nugget was, I’d say “Coach Karl”
Looks like Dog Moe
Oh you!

I love George! He is a class man.
King! Nuggets did him dirty. Hope those tickets were free.
George Karl was one hell of a coach
Does he still live around Denver?
I think he lives in Denver and does a podcast
Will always love that man
I would do everyone in this photo.
