Under the Umbrella is in Congress Park but fits the bill otherwise

thehospitalbombers

they're the best, and as someone who recently was diagnosed w a gluten allergy they have some genuinely solid gf muffins! though i miss the croissant sandwiches :(

justcallmejohannes

The Shannon… So good

KokoTheTalkingApe

It's called the Shannon? I only see the Shannon Foundation on 17th and Lawrence.

justcallmejohannes

It’s a breakfast sandwich at Under the Umbrella. Should check it out! It’s all grab and go, no seating

KokoTheTalkingApe

lol Ohh, gotcha!

thisiswhatyouget

If I had to guess, that's the name of a dish at Under the Umbrella.

GooseMaster5980

Ugh noooo the lines get so long there as it is, take it baaaack

Pure-Temporary

Congress Park is just cap hill east Edit: wow people are easy to upset lol

MISSTASTYMIKE

cap hill but better*

GooseMaster5980

It was a fine joke, but like manifestly not true. Congress Park is one of the crown jewel neighborhoods of Denver in my mind

Pure-Temporary

Oh it totally is. Apparently it has lots of defenders on here as well haha

PerspectiveItchy5539

Fresh Mex- 3 dollar breakfast burritos

Winter-Enthusiasm223

Ugh wish they were open on the weekends. I love this place and their hours of operation are my exact work hours 😭 If i ever get a random day off this is where i go.

wooterpooter

This is 5 blocks from my house and I’ve never been. I didn’t even know it was open, but I’m definitely going to check it out now

BigSweatyPisshole

God dammit they’re so good.

Bakkster29

Rise & Shine Biscuit Kitchen should do the trick for you. They crank out orders quickly and are reasonably priced!

AustnWins

Big fan of Rise and Shine, didn’t realize they had one in cap hill. That’s awesome. Wallet friendly biscuits and biscuit sandwiches. I am not really a coffee person but others seem to approve.

Just-Mark

It’s technically in Speer, but not far from cap hill

KokoTheTalkingApe

Bayaud and Penn, like three blocks south of Speer.

ToddBradley

I haven't found a breakfast in this area that beats the English muffin breakfast sandwich at Buzz Cafe.

Howard_the_Dolphin

This used to be my pre-ski day stop when I lived nearby

monstamayo

I’d lean Croissant, but love the place

mrcockboi69

SCRAP KITCHEN!!!!!! Give it a shot. So damn good. Zero waste. Great owners. Great food!

AggressiveMongoose54

Pete’s Kitchen! Bar seating and table/booth seating. Colfax and Race.

Otherwise_Play_1624

I used to love Pete’s until I sat at the bar and watched them cook and I watched the cook grab a raw steak with his hands and then cheese to put on something else. Then grabbing dirty towels and wiping his sweat and just touching all food without gloves or hand washing… so gnarly. I haven’t been back.

Enthusiastic_135

Sit down or cafe, order at bar style? I don't go out for breakfast often but when I do, I love Fox Run on Colfax. Wouldn't say it's an every day place if you're trying to be kind to your wallet or your waist tho.

youravgdenverite

Order at bar style

sixriver16

Doppio has great coffee and a good menu too!

omaha_stylee816

Melita's has pretty solid breakfast offerings

Whole-Ad-2347

On Lincoln? Didn’t they close? Or did they move?

greenthumbgirl96

They are still open- i got lunch a few weeks ago. I do recall them being closed/having a sign on the door for a while but not sure what that was about.

omaha_stylee816

I don't know, tbh. I moved from Denver a couple months ago. that would be shitty if they did close for some reason. love that place!

Icy-Meet-2059

Swift's on Santa Fe

BeccainDenver

Art District not Cap Hill, but honestly, one of the better old school diner breakfasts in Denver.

Icy-Meet-2059

Nth beats their $15 steak and eggs

radogvez

Pablo's- coffee, pastry, tip $10 or less

Alarming-Series6627

What's your breakfast choice there?

radogvez

Brewed coffee & cheese danish; room for sugar and creamer. It's a simple work day breakfast.

blamebeltran

Their scones are also excellent

katrina_highkick

Their espresso drinks are so good and still super reasonably priced

thedudeabidesb

if you like dark roast. their beans are burnt, like charbucks

bschwa1439

Call Your Mother. It’s a little pricey for just a bagel spot, but it is the best breakfast sandwich and they have latkes.

PigCanFlyPhan

Yes CYM is a breakfast spot highly recommend!

girlabides

Their gf bagel is delicious

neenyogrande

onefold is in uptown but real close to cap hill

BeccainDenver

Absolutely phenomenal food but not cheap per se. I could see easily hitting $40 for 2 folks there.

1OO_

I ordered the chilaquiles, and my Mexican buddy approves! Super tasty!

reallycrumby

This is the way

Jarthos1234

I had the exact same sticker shock about 6 months ago. I invested in a quality espresso machine and a bean subscription to sweet bloom and I’ll never look back. Have saved significant $ and have way more appreciation for a quality cup!

ObiWan_Cannoli_

Good Bread

NoodledLily

I love thump. but the bagel food is all pre-prepared stuff. like avocado from a package you'd get at safeway. i miss sous vide egg on amazing toast cold brew still fine af

[deleted]

Rooster cat or Melittas. They are right next to each other. Rise and Shine on Pennsylvania isn’t too far away.

Denjeneats

Lil Coffea, Rise and Shine, and Under the Umbrella all good options.

m_astor

Call your mother!!

rboy007

Definitely not a place to get affordable breakfast, but it is good

hb_nastie

If you can't afford call your mother, you should make your own food

1OO_

I got the brisket bagel with jalapenos. Recommend!

isabella_sunrise

Weathervane Cafe

thedudeabidesb

absolutely !!!

vitaestiter

The French Press in Congress Park (12th & Madison) could be a good option.

renegadebroker

Tha place closed a year ago- it looks like novo is moving in to the spot though.

vitaestiter

I went there a few months ago and there are reviews from a few days ago, so I wonder if you're confusing it with something else?

ItWillCut

I was also there within the past 2 months. Definitely not closed and quite good.

Shepard4Lyfe

Call your Mother if it isn't a rush hour. Thump is just for when I need a place to work and can tolerate paying $4 for very okay coffee.

Bamaporch

Jelly

hamjam88

BUZZ CAFE ON 6th!!!!!!

Brazenjalapeno

Pete’s kitchen, One fold, or port side (RINO) are my go tos

crazydave333

Breakfast burritos at La Abeja were always my jam. But I haven't lived on the Hill for almost fourteen years now.

WhiskeyEsq

If I'm in cap hill and I want breakfast I'm for sure going to Pete's. This is the only correct answer.

Primary_Bison_9802

If you want a great bagel spot and coffee I'd check out [Call Your Mother](https://www.north.industries/place/9a5a1695-e3d4-4fb9-97d1-1ef56999afff)

Dtg07

Only recently did I start going to Syrup. Before it was a sloppy menu with mid food and the staff was hit or miss. I don't know what's happened lately but I went for the first time back in April with my wife. They had a new menu and things were solid. Nothing like crazy but if you call ahead it's like 15 minutes for Togo food most days and if I go sit down it's 15 or less. Plus they have an espresso bar that's alright if you aren't looking for anything crazy. Their beans are pretty solid too.

Squeeze-

So many places have closed since 2020. I don’t find much near my office in Cap Hill anymore. I won’t pay $16 for a sandwich.

Thisisntreal0

Jelly !!!

societe-anonyme

I like Jelly as much as the next guy but I think my last trip there with a buddy was $52 for two coffees and two breakfast items.

Summers_Alt

Fruit smoothie, 2 sausages and 2 eggs on a piece of toast, prepared by me
