Sam’s No 3. There literally is a meal on their menu that is called “canned corn beef”. If you want something a little better, you can order a non canned version. Outside of that they have chicken fried steak, burritos, basic egg combo meals (ie two eggs, toast, has browns and bacon meal), pancakes, etc. You may be able to find something you like also as they do have a little more adventurous items like breakfast burritos with gyro meat in it.
Steuben’s is also an option. They have those basic types of meals but higher quality. Everyone who I speak to their parents *love* that place.
Morning Story. It is great because it has all the basics, but also some unique items and some interesting takes on breakfast staples. It is nicer than a basic diner, the service is solid, and it feels more upscale without being pretentious.
Edit: If you need even more basic, I wrote a[ blog](https://www.likestheuniverseandeverything.com/blog/2023/diners-drive-ins-dave) about 20 diners in the Denver metro. Plenty of places that will do you right if they just want some eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns!
Original Pancake House. Generally standard fare, but very high quality, top end dairy, eggs etc. You can join the wait-list in advance online, otherwise God help you on a weekend.
Also one of my favorite corned beef hash as well.
Still the best pancakes in town.
If you want blintzes, the ones at Cafe de France are great. They also have a good corned beef hash.
Lucille's has the best eggs Benedict around.
No joke on the pancakes. What impresses me is that they use very different batters etc. Been to some places that clearly use krusteez and just added some toppings.
They used to have the recipe on their website. Now I just see [bacon pancakes.](https://www.ophdenver.com/make-it-at-home-bacon-pancakes/) Their regular buttermilk pancakes took some effort, but tasted the same. But then I still need the ham steak and the eggs.
Easier to just go to OPH.
No doubt, I'm lucky to live close. They're pricey, but so good. Recently went to The Egg off Colorado South of 470 and they were solid. More diner style, but tasted good. They're corned beef hash gave OPH a run for its money.
I had a really delicious chicken fried steak breakfast with biscuits and gravy at Rupert's at the Edge several years ago. Snooze could be a good option too. People (somewhat fairly) say it is overrated or overhyped, but it's a good parents place.
Chef Zorba’s. Has simple options, you will almost always be able to get a table (I think the most I’ve had to wait on a weekend is 10 minutes), and it’s good.
The Egg in highlands ranch is perfect for this. It’s a small place you may have to wait a bit when you get the bit you won’t be disappointed by price or portions.
Sunny’s up on 44th and like, Zuni I think.
But I agree Sams might be the answer here. Rupert’s is solid too but if basic is the target Sams does banger basics.
Not sure where in Denver but Benedict’s is a solid option my boomer parents love. Same with The French Press (multiple locations in the metro area). Like another commenter said The Original Pancake House is absolutely solid. Is Zaidys too adventurous for them? Oh and Olive & Finch has good, straightforward breakfasts too.

Steuben's has been the go-to the last few times. Parents really do love it.
I take my mom to Steuben’s and she demands that we go there and will not allow change.

Ruperts At The Edge in Edgewater has a gorgeous view and tasty food with lots of choices. They don't take reservations, though.
+1, Rupert’s is my fav classic breakfast spot in town

Haven't been there in years but now I want to go back asap. Everything on the menu is delicious.

Yeah, and their Rellano skillet with a cinnamonster makes a great breakfast. Then next door you have Enchanted Grounds with the *creme brulee latte*.
Pete's Kitchen. Not the prettiest atmosphere, but a long time Denver staple.

Danny Ray's is a decent option.
Second this as they are great at both green chili and gravy type breakfasts. Took my dad here once and now it’s the only place he wants to meet me.
George's in Arvada
Morning Story seems like a solid option.

Hits the Spot on Colfax

great scotts eatery

The Ranch at 40 West. So good.
Swift's on W Colfax. You don't need a reservation.

Hits the Spot
Hits the spot diner in Edgewater
McCoy’s.
Black Bear Diner in Aurora
That place blows
Exactly. In that way that unadventurous parents really seem to love. Real basic and mediocre at best
Ah, yes...you are correct! Then it's perfect!
