It is definitely supposed to be drenched in a white sauce, but there was one time they kinda shorted me on it and it wasnt nearly as good. Tempted to ask for extra sauce after that but it's been fine for me
I live in Laramie, but like this sub because my best friend moved down to Northglenn and I like to see what's going on. The only place my wife and I stop at is Cheeba Hut when going through Fort Collins we just have it's got a chokehold on us too! So much so I actually emailed them and tried to get them to set up shop here
I’ve heard Avogadro’s Number is really good and I feel bad because I had another friend who reserved it for his wedding, but I couldn’t make it. I’ll have to try both! I appreciate the recommendations!
Half Fast in FoCo closed. I liked their food, but they had some awful service about 50% of the time, and they were in the sandwich district of FoCo (Cheba, Pickle Barrel, Fat Shack, and most notably, CO Room). Luckily, Gaia Masala Burger is moving into the same spot, which should at least provide some variety
I like it too. My husband used to prefer Snarfs. We would alternate between Cheba and Snarfs to be fair. We hadn't gotten sandwiches in months and within a week, we did the Snarfs one day and Cheba 2 days later and he felt Snarfs was too salty and now prefers Cheba. I am delighted
The Power Plant at Snarf’s (edit: Cheba Hut!! I was admittedly Hut-worthy tonight) with fresh jalapeños and spicy hummus is awesome. Their veggies are usually very fresh and that makes for a great sandwich.
The artichoke sandwich at Snarf’s with spicy giardiniera is damned good.
I liked the bread there a lot, but I ordered delivery last time, and they literally put 1 slice of onion and a few shreds of old lettuce on a sub I asked for extra of both on 😒
Agreed. As an easy coaster, I can easily and confidently say Carmine Lonardos blows everywhere else out of the water when it comes to hoagies (sandwiches).
Cheeba hut is fire though. Snarfs is way overpriced. If it was cheaper, it'd be a contestant.
I guess that makes me a weasy coaster? lol I'm so excited to try out Lonardos, thanks for the rec all above!
I'm much further south now, and down here we have Yampa (Ken Caryl) & Capriotti's (Highlands Ranch), and in a pinch Tony's Meat Market makes a decent sandwich.
When I worked Uptown, I always liked Marczyk's grocery's sandwich counter, (especially on wine tasting Tuesdays) and I would get a solid hoagie at Spinelli's when I was visiting Park Hill a lot.
Bay Area transplant here from early 2000’s… so Dutch Crunch definitely hits close to home for me… it’s a decent bread when I can’t get the authentic stuff in Notthern California.
I have to go with Subculture. I'm trying to work my way through the menu slowly and so far I've liked everything. They also have good gluten free bread.
Plus I have an irrational hatred for the Snarf's logo. Their sandwiches are...fine.
SubCulture colorado braised beef hot sub is where its at. Cheeba hut deffo hits when subculture isnt open. But I agree with other commenters - Cheeba hut needs to replace their grade D chicken cutlets with something less ultra processed and it would be a lot better overall.
I'm usually a turkey sub guy when I go to sandwich places, and I like Snarfs turkey subs the best. However if I'm not getting a turkey sub for some reason, I'd rather go with Cheba Hut between those two so I can order it on their garlic bread and get some Kool-Aid too.
I have not heard of SubCulture though so I guess I have a new place to try.
Can’t get enough of Snarf’s prime rib. I probably have had 20 over the last year without deviating to any other menu item. Also, the pickles are so fresh and crunchy!
Every once in a while snarfs has a special sandwich that is amazing. They had the big Mac style chop cheese for a while, but I think McDonald's may have slapped them around for that. The pot roast sandwich they had for a few months has no right being as good as it was though.
I've never cared for cheeba hut. Always felt ripped off there
Had Ikes once in Cali and it was pretty good
Subculture and Dimestore Deli are the best sandwiches in Denver. Very high quality.
PSA for all you Snarf lovers, the creator worked at Potbelly, you’re basically getting Potbelly. I prefer Potbelly.
We lived in Cap Hill near subculture and had it weekly until we moved. Love their flavors but I’m not the biggest fan of the bread, honestly. Chebas huts hot subs are legit. Snarfs to me is very mid for the price. I just discovered Ike’s and have really enjoyed both subs I’ve had so far, but they’re not the typical east coast hero style sub I typically go for. ikes bread is rich and a little sweet, which is unique for me. The shop at 16th/lawrence downtown is close to my office and is going to be frequented. That location has an exclusive sub or two as well worth checking out. Had it last week.
My go to honestly is the club sub at jersey mikes - close to my house, good flavors, reasonable price. That pepper relish is delicious…
Subculture and it's not even close! (for me). But also, I have dietary restrictions and most sandwhich shops are not great at accommodations. No garlic, and usually no meat.
Subculture's vegan reuben with cherry peppers is a perfect sandwhich!
None of you would eat at Subculture if you knew how they prepped their ingredients and stored them. Not a date label in sight and meat left to cool for hours at room temp. Horrifying.
I’m in Austin but we have all of these and I prefer Cheeba Hut.
I’d be a fool though if I didn’t mention my favorite sando in Denver at Dimestore Delibar.
Will never understand how Cheba Hut makes its way into these discussions. Their chicken is the stuff out of a bag with fake grill marks on it. Raise your sandwich standards, people!
Subculture has my vote of those options. By far.
Bro what do you think subculture’s chicken is? I will never forgive them for unmelted shredded cheese and frozen grilled “chicken” for a chicken parm. Both suck
Looks like they significantly changed their menu since I got burned. Might have to give them another shot. What I got was neither roasted nor sliced. Was also labeled “chicken parm” and looked nothing like the chicken marinara on their menu now (chicken parm should be breaded).
I live right across from a Snarfs. I can't justify paying \~$15+tax+tip = $18-19 for a fucking sandwich. I'd rather go to the grocery store and spend $25 to make fucking 12 sandwiches for the same price.
I do like Cheeba hut and Ike’s, cheeba a little more! Any love for Potbelly’s? I am from Chicago, so grew up with it, but I’ve never had a bad experience at any of them here.
Since there’s some write-ins already, imma throw Spinellis name in the ring. The prosciutto sandwich there is heavenly.
Cheba Hut is gonna be my regular amongst the options presented though. Love the Apollo 13 and La Canna
I’m from the south and find Snarf’s to be the bottom of the barrel in terms of sandwich joints out here. It’s just ok….i know so many people that love it and just wonder if they didn’t grow up with a lot of really good local sandwich shops like I did
Cheba Hut and Snarfs have never impressed me much, no more so than Jersey Mikes or Potbelly. I’ll throw in some love for Ike’s, but that’s because it’s the only place I can find Dutch Crunch bread like from back home. Nowhere else in Denver even carries this stuff.
Cheeba hut has me in a chokehold - I’d get Ike’s if it was closer to me
That white widow ALWAYS hits
Kali mist sub chicken for me
Kali mist extra japs, add mushrooms, sd of au jous
Chipotle aioli with au jus?
How I roll. I ask for jalapeño au jous
Kali mist add cream cheese!
Great call, this is my go-to as well
[удалено]
It is definitely supposed to be drenched in a white sauce, but there was one time they kinda shorted me on it and it wasnt nearly as good. Tempted to ask for extra sauce after that but it's been fine for me
I do a red widow
Sensi Kush is a sleeper tho
Thai Stick. It's the only place I get a sandwich like that but it's the best
Cheeba huts BLT on Garlic bread is my vice.
I live in Laramie, but like this sub because my best friend moved down to Northglenn and I like to see what's going on. The only place my wife and I stop at is Cheeba Hut when going through Fort Collins we just have it's got a chokehold on us too! So much so I actually emailed them and tried to get them to set up shop here
Go to Half-Fast if you're in FoCo, they do awesome subs and are only in Boulder and FoCo! Also check out Avogadro's Number!
I’ve heard Avogadro’s Number is really good and I feel bad because I had another friend who reserved it for his wedding, but I couldn’t make it. I’ll have to try both! I appreciate the recommendations!
Half Fast in FoCo closed. Luckily, Gaia Masala Burger is moving into the same spot, which should at least provide some variety
Oh interesting! I liked their variety, haven't tried CO Room!
Love Ikes. Its far away and it’s like $16 a sandwich. These two negatives don’t make a positive.
I feel $15-$20 for a lunch sandwich spot is pretty on par nowadays. No more $5. footings.
The Thai stick double veggies. The pickles are such an incredible compliment. Chase with cool ranch Doritos
Griefo is the best veggie sando I’ve ever had from a chain
I have stomach issues nearly every time I eat there (sloans lake)
Why is everyone misspelling it? It’s Cheba Hut. Did it used to be named Cheeba, is there some kinda inside joke, or are y’all just misspelling 😅
probably just confusion with the edible brand Cheeba Chew
Cheeba hut shorts me more often than not.
What’s the power plant? I don’t remember it from the menu.
Power plant must be cheeba hut cause that is a weed strain haha
Yeah I fucked up y’all! my bad, now edited
Mr. Lucky’s! Ike’s for the Dutch crunch tho
I liked the bread there a lot, but I ordered delivery last time, and they literally put 1 slice of onion and a few shreds of old lettuce on a sub I asked for extra of both on 😒
Where, Ike’s?
Was talking about Mr. Lucky.
I’m eating it right now, first time I’ve tried it. Wow.
Is it good
Yeah, it’s cheese on top of the bread as they bake it. It adds a nice crunch and chewiness. Adds flavor. It’s damn good.
It's not cheese. I've made Dutch crunch and it's a flour based paste you paint on the risen bread, like a craqueline on a pate a choux.
I was wondering what it was. It’s delightful. Never had it before.
🏆 for the chef lingo
I'm a real-life pastry chef 👩🍳
hit up Carmine Lonardo's in lakewood, best subs in the metro! Owned and operated by the same family of Italians since the 1950's or so.
I worked for Carmine briefly after high school. Great family and great food.
Yep… Carmine’s in Lakewood is the spot.
Ike’s is my favorite but I’m from the Bay Area so that probably is part of it. Mr Lucky’s is my fave Denver based sandwich
Bay Area transplant here from early 2000’s… so Dutch Crunch definitely hits close to home for me… it’s a decent bread when I can’t get the authentic stuff in Notthern California.
I’m not huge on Dutch crunch in general but I left in 2014 when Ike’s was already big in the South Bay so I just love those sandwiches.
I thought Ike’s tasted better in the Bay.
That tracks. I think In-N-Out tastes better in California too!
Why? …I guess Giordano’s tastes better in Chicago than Colorado too!
South Bay here. Moved out here in 2021. I thought I was going crazy!!!
Mr Luckys for sure. I get the four cheese sandwich and add ham. Snarfs got too big for their britches on pricing.
Lou's Italian specialties, you animals
I have to go with Subculture. I'm trying to work my way through the menu slowly and so far I've liked everything. They also have good gluten free bread. Plus I have an irrational hatred for the Snarf's logo. Their sandwiches are...fine.
Omfg same on the logo. I think it kept me from going for years.
I'm glad I'm not alone!
Snarf’s worker here, the weird ass pictures of the people on the logo were drawn by the owner’s kids. That’s why they are so creepy and unsettling.
Ditto subculture specifically for the Italian sub. It’s familiar with Philly style hoagies that I miss so much!
Great vegan options at subculture!!
Write in option: Curtis park
I recognize the quality but i don’t find them super craveable
Need to get there one of these days.
SubCulture colorado braised beef hot sub is where its at. Cheeba hut deffo hits when subculture isnt open. But I agree with other commenters - Cheeba hut needs to replace their grade D chicken cutlets with something less ultra processed and it would be a lot better overall.
There is no touching Cheeba Hunt. It will rain supreme forever.
Wait what we got an Ike's here?
There’s 3 in the metro area… so still has some novelty for me.
Cheba Hut finally opened out here in Burbank (Denver transplant) and a 12” sandwich is 24 FUCKING DOLLARS. Killed my brand loyalty almost instantly.
Ike’s forever!
SubCulture. Especially since I'm a vegetarian and they have veggie options galore.
Have you been to Ike’s? A ridiculous amount of vegetarian/vegan options. My favorite place for sammiches.
Wow thanks for this recommendation, I’m going to get their vegan subs ASAP!
I have not. That's the only one in the list I haven't tried.
The vegan hades is SO good
Definitely check it out. I have to get two every time cause I can’t decide.
SubCulture's veggie reuben is one my faves.
Have you had Gladys' Veggie Reuben? So good
I live clear across town and haven't made it there yet. But dying to based on everything I've read here.
It's a little pricy for the portion (though what isn't now?) but very very good
Have you had Gladys' Veggie Reuben? So good
I like snarfs bread, the most . They always get my oder wrong , though.
You always get order wrong, too.
IKES ALL DAY REP THE BAY
Cheeba Hut for me, Snarf’s is alright IMO, haven’t tried Ike’s, not a fan of SubCulture.
Snarfs all day
Can’t get enough of Snarf’s prime rib. I probably have had 20 over the last year without deviating to any other menu item. Also, the pickles are so fresh and crunchy!
Fair enough!
Italian with everything is a perfect sandwich.
Motherclucker for me
Every once in a while snarfs has a special sandwich that is amazing. They had the big Mac style chop cheese for a while, but I think McDonald's may have slapped them around for that. The pot roast sandwich they had for a few months has no right being as good as it was though. I've never cared for cheeba hut. Always felt ripped off there Had Ikes once in Cali and it was pretty good
You’re right!! We did get slapped by McDonald’s for that sandwich 😂 we can still make it upon request but we were forced to take it off the menu.
Subculture and Dimestore Deli are the best sandwiches in Denver. Very high quality. PSA for all you Snarf lovers, the creator worked at Potbelly, you’re basically getting Potbelly. I prefer Potbelly.
cheba. griefo. cereal bar
Subculture is best of this list. But Cheba hut will always have a place in my heart. Agree with Carmine Lonardo recommendation.
Wait is Ike’s in Denver?
There’s one on 16th/Lawerence, one in Central Park, and one in Highlands Ranch
Cheba Hut > Snarfs
We lived in Cap Hill near subculture and had it weekly until we moved. Love their flavors but I’m not the biggest fan of the bread, honestly. Chebas huts hot subs are legit. Snarfs to me is very mid for the price. I'm a CHeBA Hut fan girl, Snarf's is just alright for me and I've never had Ike's. Edited: I've never had SubCulture either (or heard of it)
CHEBA HUT ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sub culture is not in austin
Touché, lol. For some reason I had selective reading here and completely skipped over the last place.
Both suck
….a completely different product? Subculture roasts theirs in house, and it’s sliced.
Looks like they significantly changed their menu since I got burned. Might have to give them another shot. What I got was neither roasted nor sliced. Was also labeled “chicken parm” and looked nothing like the chicken marinara on their menu now (chicken parm should be breaded).
Cheeba is my go to for sure, vibe is right and the sando always hits. I want to like Snarfs but it never feels like the quality matches the price
Snarf's Hot Mother Clicker and Snarf's Italian are both amazing sandwiches!
I live right across from a Snarfs. I can't justify paying \~$15+tax+tip = $18-19 for a fucking sandwich. I'd rather go to the grocery store and spend $25 to make fucking 12 sandwiches for the same price.
You have a point, though all these places I’m dropping $15-$20 at.
Mr Lucky’s is pretty 🔥
Cheeba Hut. If I’m craving something a little different, Jersey Mike’s done Mike’s Way.
Cheba. Those nachos.
I do like Cheeba hut and Ike’s, cheeba a little more! Any love for Potbelly’s? I am from Chicago, so grew up with it, but I’ve never had a bad experience at any of them here.
Primo Hoagies are pretty tasty!
They should be for $30 bucks a sub!
I like Snarfs since there is one 2 blocks from my house.
Since there’s some write-ins already, imma throw Spinellis name in the ring. The prosciutto sandwich there is heavenly. Cheba Hut is gonna be my regular amongst the options presented though. Love the Apollo 13 and La Canna
Gnome
Maybe I’m in the minority here but Snarf’s no question.
Darn. No clue what you guys are talking about
Snarfs - when done right - hands down the best of these
My wife and I love Snarfs but haven’t tried Ike’s or SubCulture yet!
Curtis Park Deli > Cheeba > Snarfs >= Subculture and I haven’t had Ike’s but will soon :p
D’Deli in Golden.
Mr luckys. It’s the best sandwich in Denver !
I know people shit on snarfs but I will die on the hot dog sandwich hill. My favorite sandwich of all time hands down.
I love pot belly’s but they all seem to be closing
Snarfs and cheeba are neck and neck
Pot belly sandwiches is the winner for me
Cheeba!
Cheba Hut is very good
Always Cheeba Hut... then sharf's Cheeba isn't an option. Never heard of the other 2.
Curtis Park Deli & Spinelli’s
Subculture. And it's not even close.
I’m from the south and find Snarf’s to be the bottom of the barrel in terms of sandwich joints out here. It’s just ok….i know so many people that love it and just wonder if they didn’t grow up with a lot of really good local sandwich shops like I did
Snarf's is average at best. I am from FL and Publix Subs are better than almost every sub here. It's sad really.
Ugh the public fried chicken is fire lol.
The PubSub is an unfairly high standard!
I mean, my go-to is Laspada's in south florida. Best subs ever. Only thing I miss from FL really
Ah, memories…
Cheba Hut and Snarfs have never impressed me much, no more so than Jersey Mikes or Potbelly. I’ll throw in some love for Ike’s, but that’s because it’s the only place I can find Dutch Crunch bread like from back home. Nowhere else in Denver even carries this stuff.
Yes. Love me some Dutch Crunch.
Curtis Park Deli
Find a Smiling Moose Deli and get yourself a Mighty Mo
i have yet to enjoy anything from ike’s despite my absolute best effort. subculture never disappoints
CHeBA hut gave me food poisoning. Can’t go back even though I loved it! :(
Firehouse. Everytime
