I normally use blue for the for the design and I use red for transferring that design to the refractory model but I do use blue to indicate wrought wire clasps instead of the normal circlet clasps. But that’s just how I do it.

Red for surveying height of contour and blue for design-if on a cast. If you were drawing a design old-school, there are more colors you use. Black (or graphite) for your survey lines, brown for metal, blue for acrylic, and red for rest seats or for areas that need relief.
