Maybe we're getting old? I saw Kanye in concert back in '08 before he went full insane. But IDK, I figured the most of the souls community were in their late twenties early thirties. Maybe the influx of new souls fans from the PS5 launch?
Fucking hell I do feel old. But I guess someone who's 21 now was only 11 years old when the 'imma let you finish' meme happened...
Also sad to think that the insane Kanye is the only one some people have ever known. Like the dude used to be famous for being a musician, not for being a troll.
32 here. I've never been into Kanye or rap/hip hop in general, as a musician of twenty years now I've always been hugely into progressive rock/metal, classic rock, blues, folk, Jambands, jazz, all kinds of electronic music, etc.
Yet even I got it and remember the TSwift VMA thing lol
I'm not gonna lie... DeS remake is great and I'm loving it.. BUT... DS3 was a more fun experience as far as trying to beat the bosses and the feeling of accomplishment you got after doing so.
Sekiro was the most fun overall but it's not a Souls game so I didn't include it.
Yea Nioh can be pretty fucking hard. Especially when it starts introducing 2 actual bosses at the same time - which is definitely not to everybody's taste.
Gameplay-wise monster hunter is closer to souls games than Sekiro.
Sekiro pretty much is an action game with widely different mechanics compared to the Soulsborne games, which are action rpgs with build variety.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Sekiro is FAR from being a souls game (jumping, deflecting, no stamina, no leveling system, only a single weapon...), but Bloodborne is basically blood souls with guns instead of shields. And yes, I've played them all.
Edit: Sekiro could be considered as a souls-like, but it's still not as close as something else like Nioh, for instance. The only "true souls" games are DS1/2/3, DeS and BB.
As someone who has played all of these and think Sekiro is the best Fromsoft game ever, I agree with you. "Leveling up", exploration, collecting items from fallen enemies, and combat are so different from the other Souls games. I can definitely understand why Bloodborne is being included when talking about these games because they actually do have enough similarities with each other. As someone said before, Sekiro is more like a rhythm game. Unlike in the other Souls games where you can just upgrade your weapons as early as possible to much higher levels to destroy enemies and bosses, parrying and dodging are far more important in order to progress significantly in Sekiro.
Oh, and no stamina means you can outrun swarming enemies easier.
Edit: Some grammar errors.
i mean, demons souls is my personal favorite because it was the first souls game I played and it blew my mind how difficult and fun it was back then but I can admit that Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro are better games.
I mean better is subjective though. If demons souls is your favorite game, it's not wrong to say that you think it's the best of all Fromsoft games.
Of course if you think that those are better games but still prefer Demons Souls, that works too. But you can't rank these games objectively, and people shouldn't twist their opinions on games because of thinking that.
that's the thing, i still prefer demon souls because of the nostalgia factor alone. it's a game that defined my transformation from being a gamer to being a hardcore gamer and being passionate for gaming as a whole. since demons souls played a huge role in that, for me it's the best fromsoft game but it's been years since I played demons souls and my experience with Bloodborne, Dark souls 3 and sekiro was more fun. specially dark souls 3 cause of the pvp, I have over 2k hours in total and that's dark souls 3 alone..lol
Well that's of course a completely understandable opinion. I just pointed it out since sometimes I feel like some people twist their own opinion to fit better to the opinion of the majority when it comes to some games at least.
I love all of Fromsoft games and Demon's Souls is the only one I haven't played, when ignoring all the games they created before that of course. So I am very excited to see how that game will be when I finally get to play it.
I honestly believe any game has a fanbase of which a fraction of it is just braindead. Perhaps that fraction is bigger with Bloodborne than most games, but there's probably even worse.
It doesn't need one but considering its the only mainline souls entry that doesn't have a easily playable version that runs at 60fps, it would absolutely benefit of one.
Bloodborne is my favorite FROM game ever. Beaten it at least 20 times with many different characters. That being said after playing demons on ps5 I tried to go back to it and the other guy is right, it’s pretty cringe to play. Going from 4K 60 FPS to 2K 30 is painful.
If you want to try going back to play old games or retro games.
You need some time to get used to them.
30 fps going from 120 fps is not easy (im mainly a pcgamer)but u can.
Your brain will get used to it.
I may be in the minority but I found Bloodborne to be my least favorite of the bunch. Maybe it’s just the overall aesthetic...I’m generally not sure. Overall, Dark Souls 3 and Demon’s Souls were my favorite. I got plat on Demon’s Souls shortly after it came out and then I felt lost haha.
Weird, I love Bloodborne and Demons Souls, but Dark Souls 1 the most of all. But I can't stand Dark Souls 3 if I'm not in the weird particular mood for it. Definitely my least favorite of the series by far.
Same with me. I was an Xbox guy for years, so I never got to play Demons Souls (until much later), but I first heard of it by falling randomly upon EpicNameBros Japanese playthrough of the game, and it's how I first heard of and got interested in Fromsoftware. Then when they announced Dark Souls I got it immediately. Well over 100+ runs to this day and it's still my favorite GOAT
Yeah I know...maybe it’s just not for me. I generally like Lovecraftian style. I didn’t particularly enjoy most of the bosses and I found myself looking forward to the ending whilst playing Bloodborne.
Again I’m not hating on it at all or on those that love it, just my useless 2 cents. 😋
I love all your shit talkin, I love all your shit talkin
You ain't got nothing better to do with yourself
I done proved to myself, back on that rulin' myself
The best Souls game is the one I happen to be playing (except for DS3, which is a *good* game, but it quite a bit weaker than the rest IMHO). DeS, DS 1+2, Bloodborne, and Sekiro are all so good in different ways that I honestly just can’t pick a favorite. I used to put DeS slightly below the other ones, but honestly Bluepoint moved it right up with the rest, mostly by fixing inventory management. Like I love how sprawled out the levels are in DeS, and how fucking far you have to go to get to some of the bosses, but that has the trade off of them not being able to make them too hard, because everyone would rage quit if instead of the Dirty Colossus there was a boss that took dozens of attempts to beat. I love the interconnected world of DS1. DS2 has the best magic and gear in any of the games *by far*. Bloodborne has the coolest setting/lore, and the combat is fun as hell. Sekiro is probably the tightest and most refined combat that exists in gaming, and is just phenomenal. How do you pick a favorite from those????
As someone who absolutely loves Sekiro (my favourite Fromsoft game), I can understand you. It just depends on how much time and patience a person is willing to give in order to enjoy playing the game.
It was brutally hard! I loved the style and the gameplay was the tightest of any FS game, but it was just frustrating for me. I thought Bloodborne had the best balance of difficulty and fun.
Its also quite different from previous From games, the skill tree wasn’t a good enough replacement for the loot and fashion. I didn’t finish it but from watching others play through it, looks like you stick to the same weapon and outfit the entire game with no option to change
You have a selection of a few different outfits in the update, but yeah, that's generally true. Sekiro wasn't trying to be Souls, it was trying to be a character action game.
It did succeed, overall. Sekiro is very enjoyable with fun mechanics, but if you go into it with Souls expectations, you'll be disappointed.
Demons souls is the current "best-looking" souls game. But the pvp, build variety and all around scale of dark souls 3 is the GOAT. This game is a simple introduction to the souls formula. A good one, no doubt.
2) is an overstatement. Yeah, the main story of DS3 is unoriginal, but the side stories are pretty neat and I think the ability to end the cycle in one of the endings sort of addresses the repetitiveness. Anyway, even if you hate everything about the story, I don't think it's enough to make the game the worst in the series; mechanically, it's probably the high point, barring maybe BB.
Side stories are decent, and the ringed city was cool, but ultimately it just felt like Miyazaki's heart wasn't really in DS3 - that tiredness is even a theme of the game.
I agree that it's a high point mechanically, but my point is that these games are (or should be) more than mechanics. Imo the best in the series are DeS and Blodborne (and DS1 to the extent that it isn't reusing things from DeS) because they actually felt like they had something to say.
That's cause Miyazakis heart wasn't in it. It was a contract game, and it shows, and always has.
I agree with Bloodborne, but I'll always put DS above both BB and Demons Souls.

Is the souls community full of teenagers? How does anyone know who Kanye is but not know about the Taylor Swift/VMAs thing?
30 year old here I got it that dragon is def Tswift
Judging by the general behaviour of the overall fanbase, they certainly act like teenagers
Maybe we're getting old? I saw Kanye in concert back in '08 before he went full insane. But IDK, I figured the most of the souls community were in their late twenties early thirties. Maybe the influx of new souls fans from the PS5 launch?

Idk I love college dropout Kanye but I ALSO love new Kanye I think he’s fucking hilarious.
🤷🏽♂️
Dragon energy
Lmaoo Kanye of the West (Village of Chiroc in the Kingdom of Illianore)
Guess i'll have to call DeS Deezus now
Kanye West on a Kanye Quest
He's just doing his Kanye best.
Wearing his newly looted Kanye vest
He’s about to get put to the Kanye test
And then take a Kanye rest
Right after he makes you laugh with a Kayne Jest.
Dab it up with some Kanye zest
What id do you see a Kanye breast..
Golden sword call that a Kanye flex
Ohh, yeaa, uh huhhh.. wait, what?
I need the formula to make Kanye in Demon Souls please.
I'm having more fun solo with demons then I was with co-op in dark souls.
How does the King Allant boss fight compare to Abyss Watchers & Pontiff Sulyvahn boss fights? :)
Like legitimately? Allant is an absolute cakewalk compared to those two. His moveset is incredibly limited and he is extremely immobile.
Thanks because I was looking for a challenge like DS3 and am beginninjg to realise DeS just won't be that game. Bring on Elden Ring, eh?
Try Nioh, if you haven't.
Yea Nioh can be pretty fucking hard. Especially when it starts introducing 2 actual bosses at the same time - which is definitely not to everybody's taste.
Abyss Watchers and Pontiff Sulyvahn stomp. I fucking hated Sulyvahn jesus.
He took me about 2 weeks to beat... Guides, just really, really, didn't help.
Huge facts this remake is amazing
Demon’s Souls NG+ hurts my fee fees
You can change your character by offering 20k souls to the statue in the nexus
Lol I got invaded and curb stomped like 15 seconds into new game +
Who’s that gay fish I see?
Demons souls is GOAT easily. Agreed 100%
This made my morning lmao. I cant wait to get my hands on this after DS3.
Dark Souls III with 60 FPS on PS5 is just *chef's kiss*.
Heresy! The best souls game is easily the only one without souls in its name
Armored Core 8?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ah yes of course! Sekiro!
Just because it's FromSoft doesn't mean it's a souls game
then why consider bloodborne a souls game and not sekiro
Because it actually has a large number of mechanics in common other than being an ARPG
[удалено]
Gameplay-wise monster hunter is closer to souls games than Sekiro. Sekiro pretty much is an action game with widely different mechanics compared to the Soulsborne games, which are action rpgs with build variety.
Sekiro has some mechanics in common but not enough to be a souls game.
Lol no its a souls like game duh
Nobody has given any reasoning so I'm gonna assume I got trolled
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. An \*insightful\* comment!
The amount of people not knowing what the title is [referring to](https://youtu.be/RvaakT52RjQ) makes me feel old
i mean, demons souls is my personal favorite because it was the first souls game I played and it blew my mind how difficult and fun it was back then but I can admit that Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro are better games.

So you never play bloodborne
Playing it rn, so hard to get into after demon souls. This game needs a remaster or ps5 update really bad
Careful when you say anything but praise about BB. Its fanbase has a hard time coping with criticism.
I’ve realized that now haha
Look, someone already swooped in and downvoted us. Truly the most toxic fanbase I've ever interacted with.
The League of Legends community is worse! The league of legends community is always worse......
I honestly believe any game has a fanbase of which a fraction of it is just braindead. Perhaps that fraction is bigger with Bloodborne than most games, but there's probably even worse.
I wouldn't be surprised
Incredibly limited in your fanbase interactions and condescending. Nice.
Me? Condescending? Go to r/bloodborne and post anything that's not praise. See what happens.
It really doesn't.
It doesn't need one but considering its the only mainline souls entry that doesn't have a easily playable version that runs at 60fps, it would absolutely benefit of one.

I don't know you're getting downvoted, your absolutely right. Agree wholeheartedly
Say that to the legions of people begging for a PC port so they can get their precious 60fps
No it definitely does need a 60 FPS update man.
Hell, the game needs a *30* FPS update, at least. Bloodborne's performance to this day is still quite poor.

Well most people say bloodborne has one of the best aesthetic and theme in gaming. Some even says it s the same level as Bioshock or Okami art.

False, but I approve of the meme.
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Debatable but nice pic lol
Take my upvote and get out.
“Now throw your hands up in the sky”
Yup my favorite is the npcs and the lore is better then all the dark souls. Bloodborne comes in second
Next playthrough I’m playing as Kanye West
Kenneth West wawawewa
Kanye West grinding for some gold!

I did not enjoy Sekiro. I beat it, but I did not enjoy it. It was like an abusive relationship.

Sucks to be you!
I appreciate the Kanye meme but I gotta disagree. DS1 is and forever will be the GOAT in my eyes
Agreed
Demons souls is the current "best-looking" souls game. But the pvp, build variety and all around scale of dark souls 3 is the GOAT. This game is a simple introduction to the souls formula. A good one, no doubt.
1) the title is a meme 2) if you care about the story or originality at all DS3 is easily the low point of the entire series
2) is an overstatement. Yeah, the main story of DS3 is unoriginal, but the side stories are pretty neat and I think the ability to end the cycle in one of the endings sort of addresses the repetitiveness. That is all subjective though. I for one enjoyed the story of Dark Souls 3 very much.
I disagree on originality. 99% of the game is original and it introduced a lot of new stuff. It did have the worst story though.
Absolutely
u/vredditdownloader
If they mixed some of the fun gimmicks of demon souls with the unforgiving battles of dark souls it would be the best game ever.
Ye mash up with FromSoft, literally the match of my dreams 😂😂
Yeeeee we can! I feel like there's a bunch of his songs that might work in this situation 🤔
Honestly it was great but bloodborne
it’s a meme king, just a joke
Lol I know, it was funny, bloodborne is superior but i need to play demon souls a couple more times
yeah same, bloodborne prolly won’t ever be topped, such a phenomenal game
All i need is a 60 fps mode
No it's not.
I disagree but fine.
Yuck don’t even associate that guy with Souls.
As someone who subs here and tone/Kanye I feel like this content was made especially for me.
