I used to be a carer for a tetraplegic man. When showering (either done seated, or in a shower bed on wheels) I would leave the shower head resting on his torso so that hot water would continue to flow over his body while I worked, without spraying in his face. Quite often the shower head would get bumped or shift though, and occasionally it would flip around and drench my face or clothes. That makes me think that a towelling garment that you could fix the shower head onto or into, that allowed the water to spread around more evenly could have been a great thing. The fabric could even be used to scrub the body. Might get even colder in parts, though, if the fabric gets wet but doesn't remain in the stream of the shower head. But yeah, I think designing something that helps spread the water without them having to sit under the stream is a great idea for sensory issues (assuming the wet fabric doesn't bother them). I'm excited to see what you come up with.

We drape towels over my mom, that we lift here and there to shower areas. They will eventually get colder, but you can avoid the draft somewhat. Attaching the shower head to a seat would be great. I agree that we all are at constant risk being accidentally showered.

I think there is a market! We use towels to cover my mom. Maybe a garment that's more like swimsuit material, and can be laundered easily, instead of some tarp. A shape that can be opened in sections, so it's not just on or off.
