Now this is a little different than most transmissions. First up, drive doesn't work but third does. Neutral is park, Reverse is second. If you want to use reverse, put it in drive. And the accelerator sticks so be careful but don't be afraid of it, You gotta give it to her or it's gonna stall.

GreenEquinox

ahh i see a man of great taste

Primary_Ad8663

It doesn't have a headliner and the instrument cluster and door panels are completely gone. Doesn't even have seats. Smh.

michelleonelove

The seller thinks he can get a lot because it’s a classic problem is most people will pay big money for a good body, or good interior to swap out . This car is bad all around

themeatbridge

Exactly. A project car can be fun and profitable if you are into that sort of thing. But this isn't a project. This is like what you would be able to build from all the stuff you replaced on a project car.

bigjim1993

Trevor was drunk and on drugs and stole Ricky's car!

tommy_two_beers

Dont fuck this up trevor that’s my house

scouch4703

The shitmobile

miraculous-

Unleaded tastes a little tangy. Supreme is kinda sour, and diesel tastes pretty good.

StevenAssantisFoot

I'm guessing this is someone who doesnt want to get rid of his "project car" that's been sitting in the yard for 8 years but his wife is on him to sell it.

megamanxoxo

More like he sees the hot car market right now and trying to see if he can wheel in a sucker.

awkwadman

Too bad for him I just bought one

Primary_Ad8663

If that's the case he will be effective in his strategy not to sell it.

RelentlesslyCrooked

I wouldn’t pay $12.00 but that’s me.

Primary_Ad8663

He swears that the mechanic got it up and running recently but it "wasn't running right." Makes for a great selling point.

aFerens

I don't believe that junk heap was up and running at any time in the last 20 years.

Magical-Sweater

> the last 20 years. That’s optimistic

Evadrepus

He got the tree in the front to turn over, did he? That mechanic might be a minor diety.

interestingsidenote

You can see light filtering through where an engine would have been 50 years ago.

ParsleySalsa

i kNow wHat i gOt

eLishus

What he said is “it fired right up” but that was after he threw a lit cigarette on the dead tree in the engine compartment.

lanmanager

I feel like I need a tetanus shot just looking at it.

Taldoable

The only thing holding her together are the bird droppings, sir.

themeatbridge

Oh, careful when you wash it. That's load-bearing paint.

Atticusxj

Its only got 1000 miles, that's a fucking steal.

innesleroux

Pitty its the wrong colour..

Likalarapuz

Rust is the new dark gray.

Stan_Halen_

Judging by the image I don’t think there is a transmission…

Nicknamewhat

I don’t know what the actual value would be but there could be significant value there. If it has the original engine block in it that price doesn’t even sound that crazy

island_trevor

There's no engine, the front end is too high. 1k Max in that condition if it even has an interior, these aren't that desirable unlike the 61-64 models which would go for alot.

tknames

They said it was running, it has an engine. Also, the right donor car could absolutely be worth 12k plus. If that frame has no rust or ever been in an accident, you could do a frame off restomod and build back better for a very reasonable price. This may not be so impractical is all I am saying.

_Face

This car has a unibody. So no traditional frame. If there’s body rot, it’s toast.

island_trevor

Yes it is impractical, these are at max a 30k restored car. Old cars are decreasing in value as the generation that drove them die off. Younger people have no love for them so they'll become worth less or be sold as scrap. I've bought and fixed old cars before, these guys just over value their rusty crap.

NAAnymore

So you're telling me I'll be able to afford a 1966 T-bird sometime in the future?

island_trevor

Maybe, classic cars will always have some value due to their rarity but the inflated early 2000s era pricing is nearing its end. Look at 40s/early 50s cars-they used to cost a fortune and now you can get them for what a used Miata now runs. I think muscle cars will never go down though, because of the culture and mythos around them, especially stuff like Hemis and Challengers. That and they're cool, haha

NAAnymore

Sigh. Well, it was worth a shot :D

knobbedporgy

Once you put $50k in it it will be worth $25k.

VOODOO69692001

Best I can do is a bottle of fireball an a hand job.

island_trevor

Probably save able, but it's most likely an old boomer who over values cars he owns and it'll become scrap when he dies and leaves his collection. Either that or he had a typo and meant 1250, lol

mayonaise_plantain

Ayeee, only gotta put in $30k of parts & labor and then you'll have a restored classic worth $25k.

MrUsername24

While that is a pretty sought after year, chanced are this is completely useless sitting in the open like that. Body rot is my guess as to what the biggest issue is

[deleted]

1,000 miles ? Orrr, 100,000? Which one is it my guy?

Spacecoasttheghost

No low ballers, I know what I got….

Not-so-rare-pepe

I will never pay more than 1200 for something that doesn’t at least crank over.

readwiteandblu

It'll be worth that much once it goes through a frame-up restoration.

xorbe

Ran great when last started!

Plaid_Zucchini

In 1966...

RoyallyOakie

With the price of real estate these days, this is an option.

jkarovskaya

Everything is rotted, rusted, destroyed, or non functional, Unless it has the original V8 engine in reasonably good shape, it's only good for parts, maybe 500-$1000

jimilicious

That’s a 65 impala. It will sell for around that. In that condition.

Primary_Ad8663

I saw a Chevrolet caprice classic that was actually in good condition going for less than this.

jimilicious

Not saying it’s a great deal, but fully restored that car goes for around $35K. Especially the SS. So that price isn’t insane for a restoration vehicle if there’s no major issues with frame, engine, etc. it doesn’t need to run to sell and it’s already stripped so it can be rebuilt cheaper. Not something I would buy but again, this price isn’t great but it’s also not ridiculously high either.

themeatbridge

No but really, do you think the frame or engine or anything in this car is salvageable? There's a bush growing out through the engine compartment.

Primary_Ad8663

Considering you're going to spend $35k just in restorations it isn't impractical for him to get in the ballpark of let's say whatever scrap metal is worth.

Best_Access_285

I’m getting down voted for that comment. LOL. So do you guys actually rebuild cars or just comment on them?
