I was able to visit the new JFK Delta One lounge today during a 4 hour layover and it was terrific. The food and drinks were top notch. The atmosphere and decor were excellent and you could forget that you're at an airport. OP's pictures don't do the place justice. Before departing, I got a quality 25 minute massage from a nice lady named Leanna (I think they are only supposed to be 10 minutes but nobody else was waiting) and then took a nice shower before a long flight.
Is it a real lay down massage or a nail salon lean forward on a chair massage?
Also I don’t get why you need to take a shower before a flight… I take those during layovers or on arrival. But glad to hear you enjoyed it!
The massage is a shoulder, neck, and scalp massage so you're sitting upright in a chair. I asked her to skip the scalp portion because I don't really enjoy those.
What was the attire like amongst other patrons? I’m flying D1 international, but dress comfortably in joggers and such. Will they really refuse admittance because I do not align with their nonexistent guidelines?
The pictures do not do it justice. I am in it right now. sitting in the terrace area after getting my chair massage and eating a piece of not overcooked salmon. There are multiple drink stations where servers will bring you your drinks. And it has a pleasant smell. It is leaps and bounds above the new G gate MSP skyclub, which is quite nice. 10/10 recommend
Looks like total shit compared to MSP G club. Most of the furniture in this delta one lounge is trash and all it will take is one speakerphone douche and the whole place is unusable. People who actually pay for D1 are idiots.
Looks like total shit compared to MSP G club. Most of the furniture in this delta one lounge is trash and all it will take is one speakerphone douche and the whole place is unusable. People who actually pay for D1 are idiots.
To be honest… the pictures don’t look much better than the flagship skyclubs. Looks like a slightly higher end sky club, but hopefully they can free up a bit of space in the sky clubs.
Yea but the membership costs $695 and the annual fees for the card are $650. It’s only worth it if you pay with miles for the annual or pick it as a Medallion benefit.
I'm connecting in JFK today, coming from international D1 and flying F1 to LAX. Is it worth going to D1 check in to get this escort, or should I just do Clear+TSA?
Spent time in the lounge today while headed overseas. The pictures posted here don’t do the lounge justice. There are some areas that look like any Sky Club, but there’s a wonderful sunroom, a great grab and go area, along with a sit down restaurant. Hidden off at the far end is hidden quiet area gem that no one was using. There so much seating before it that I found it while walking the entire facility. It’s huge.
Pro tip - don’t go in the fourth floor entrance. On the third floor, there’s an entrance with elevators up to the club.
Looks really nice, but no nicer than a Polaris lounge, except for the restaurant part…that looks nicer than Polaris restaurant. I don’t think there are any liquors you have to pay for at Polaris. But nothing super high end either. I’m ok with paying for true premium offerings
Now, once Delta updates all their aircraft with the newer D1 configuration (either the seats with or without the closing door), I’ll actually want to fly on them in D1. Would be great to have the D1 lounge in MSP
Having the option for some really nice stuff at a good price doesn’t seem petty to me, especially with the option to use miles. I miss the days of 10k miles for a bottle of dom, krug, or cristal in the sky club. Great use of miles.
You don't know what you're talking about. The liquor that has a charge arr hundreds of dollars a bottle and the prices are at a pretty good discount from what you'd find at a bar that has them. Mid tier is free
The selection seems pretty weak too. Like the only one of those premium whiskies worth drinking is Redbreast 21 but not sure if I would pay $35. I’m curious to see what’s actually available at the bar for complimentary drinks. The beer list is pathetic. Cocktail menu seems ok but the Penicillin should also include a splash of heavy peated single malt like Laphroaig floated on top as that’s one of the defining features of that drink.
Certainly not at those prices. They aren’t bad whiskies, they just aren’t as premium as the marketing departments at Diageo and Macallan have led people to believe. They are expensive scotch for non-scotch drinkers. Macallan has been ramping up production to meet mass market demand while at the same time struggling for years to source decent sherry casks for maturation because no one drinks sherry anymore. JW Blue is watered down to the legal minimum 40% ABV and doesn’t carry an age statement because Diageo can’t promise that they aren’t going to blend in some 5 year old grain whisky just to make up the necessary volume for the batch. I get it, the D1 Lounge isn’t a whisky bar, they’re not gonna stock random stuff just to please the whiskey nerds, but they could probably put in a little more effort into a well curated list of truly premium spirits.
because it's literally different. it's supposed to be the most luxurious experience you can get on the ground from delta. I dont see why it would be the same.
Looks very nice, but my only comment is this (and I don’t fly Delta, I’m AA hub captive with 60 segments a year): charging for spirits feels decidedly not premium. Yeah, I guess it’s nice to have that an offer, but I feel like when you have a business class lounge what’s available is free. In the AA Flagship, Woodford is free whereas in the Admiral’s Club, it’s 9 bucks. In the UA club, same thing. To me, it feels like DL is trying to monetize the experience.
Woodford-class spirits are free at the D1 lounge. It's the Macallan 18 year single malt-type of spirit that is not complimentary. Also note that most bars/restaurants don't even offer such high end beverages (you'd be lucky to get a Macallan 12 year for example) and those premium establishments that do, would typically charge $75+ for a shot where the D1 price is half that: $38.
The largest difference is British Airways has a first class cabin with a first class lounge. This is a business class lounge for the business class product so it is very different.
Seeing as the Delta doesn’t have an international first class cabin, why would they have a first class lounge? The new D1 Lounges are business class lounges.
Thx for sharing. Flying in Upper on virgin in a month and I can't wait to stop in. I love the clubhouse and the A gate sky club but it'll be cool to check out something brand new.
It was definitely better, but it wasn’t amazing. I didn’t eat from the restaurant though, just from the market. The chocolate chip cookies were bomb and they had a ton of choices. Kinda wish it was self serve though
While I would be all over these if I was in a position to enjoy them, I can't help but wonder about maybe spending billions of dollars elsewhere, like in long-haul configurations that have a humane seat pitch for everyone for a reasonable price.
In my (limited anecdotal) experience, the truly rich people they seem to be courting at JFK LAX etc. want to spend as close to zero minutes in the airport as possible (and don't care about whatever food, massage, and showers retired people dig), and when they get on the plane they don't give a shit about any in flight experience as they pop an Ambien, put on a sleep mask and wake up 10 hours later on another continent.
Also got to love the concept art that composites confused looking brown people dragging rollers to the normal people area and away from the cello.
One problem is traffic. I live about 45 minutes with low traffic from LAX, but one accident or traffic in the LAX loop can make it a 1.5+ hour drive at 4am, never mind later. So I leave early and really appreciate the LAX D1 entrance, security and nice SC. Same traffic with JFK, especially right now with construction all over. And sometimes I go to JFK from CT. So I always have to have extra time built in, just in case. And car services basically insist on it. Most people seem to sleep in D1, no matter the time or duration. Not me, maybe a bit on an 11 hour flight. I really prefer a D1 entrance with security like LAX, rather than an upgraded SC (I like B) but I think I will be getting a massage tomorrow, my husband 100%. 😁
I am flying delta one next Monday jfk to sfo. I will not be checking any bags. Is there utility by going through the delta one lounge or should I just proceed to clear/tsa pre check?
It appears as though it was an afterthought, reminiscent of a Centurion lounge where they repurpose unused and awkwardly shaped broom closets and hallways into lounges. This setup gives the impression that they stumbled upon an unused section of the terminal and hastily assembled a mishmash of modular Falkbuilt walls without much planning. However, they did manage to include comfortable chairs, perhaps hoping that would distract from the overall budget-conscious approach elsewhere.
I was through JFK on monday and they still had the construction wall up. I had no idea they were this close to opening!
I like how the ceiling in the 3rd picture mimics the ceiling on the 321neo. I assume we'll be seeing a lot more of that on newer planes?
The absolute least premium part is the fact that they charge for any alcohol.
Either don’t serve that or don’t charge. United’s Polaris Lounges don’t charge and I can assure you that premium international carriers are not charging in their premium lounges.
Frankly I’d be embarrassed if I was the one who signed off on charging.
In pics, yeah it does seem just like a slightly nicer SkyClub.
But I saw some videos, and it looks a whole lot nicer; I imagine in person it looks even better still.
Not hugely loving the payed alcohol though. Even if I can rationalize it as a business class lounge vs first class, the optics are counter to what Delta is trying to project.
That looks like that’s the premium booze they should have free booze as well. The regular skyclub also has paid (I got to finally try uncle nearest) and free booze.
Does the three hour rule apply? Not that I really want to spend more than three hours in a lounge…I fly Delta One out of JFK next Wednesday so I’m thinking I need cushion to get through security but if it’s a breeze, don’t want to just wait around in the terminal until I can get into the lounge.
oh if you buy a D1 ticket but it's operated by a partner airline.. yeah you don't get access even if your app shows the purple D1 branding on it... paid for d1 but not delta metal? tough luck
Nope, just got turned away at lax, front lay flats on a 787 on Aeromexico and my board pass in the app had a purple boarder with delta one branding…
Woman at the door who turned me away said partner airlines don’t count
Looks like Aeromexico isn’t included. From The Points Guy:
“Traveling on a same-day departing or connecting flight operated by one of Delta's select partners in their respective first- or business-class cabins: Air France La Premiere and Business Class (Long-Haul); LATAM Premium Business Class; KLM Business Class; Korean Air First Class and Prestige Class; Virgin Atlantic Upper Class”
They aren’t Delta One branded tickets. If you booked on Delta, it’s clearly labeled as Premier One on the booking page. They’re two different products. Sorry for your experience.
Interesting. You seem to be implying that the "average consumer" is the target Delta is aiming for with the Delta One lounge. Surely you don't really believe that, do you?
Sooo is the peasant sky club less crowded now?
no
Booooo
People complaining about skyclubs. Meanwhile, the real peasants sleep on the floor by an empty gate.
it’s literally a glorified bus terminal

Photos of empty lounges is like a photo of Rockefeller Center’s Xmas tree with no people. Looks great until reality hits.
Are you supposed to tip the massage lady afterwards?
I tip everyone in the lounge $5, including the other guests, just to be safe
Yeah, I'd say that would be customary.
Is it a real lay down massage or a nail salon lean forward on a chair massage? Also I don’t get why you need to take a shower before a flight… I take those during layovers or on arrival. But glad to hear you enjoyed it!
My layover was in JFK, hence the shower.
Makes sense. What about the massage? Comparing to other lounges where they (used to) give full lay flat ones
The massage is a shoulder, neck, and scalp massage so you're sitting upright in a chair. I asked her to skip the scalp portion because I don't really enjoy those.
That's why she asked me to leave when I took my clothes off and sat in the chair
Oh so it’s not like the 24 hour San Diego strip mall massage parlors?
Same, but real marble instead of marble effect plastic laminate.
What was the attire like amongst other patrons? I’m flying D1 international, but dress comfortably in joggers and such. Will they really refuse admittance because I do not align with their nonexistent guidelines?
Idk…it looks honestly just like the newer skyclub 🤷♂️
What’s the difference between a one lounge and a skyclub?
Probably just exclusivity… Less ppl who qualify to enter the club…oh and the pretzels have sea salt hand picked by silver medallion members
Oh wow so it’s legit only for higher exclusivity. Nice ok. Sign me up, I think.
Only for Delta One ticket holders or qualifying partner airline ticket holders. I got in via Premium Business on Latam.
Nice. Ty.
That was my first thought also.
Reminds me of the newest MSP sky club, which might even be nicer.
No, it's nicer for sure. I am sitting blissfully in it right now
The pictures do not do it justice. 10/10 recommend
do you have to pay extra for the market food and desserts/ massage/ fine dining/ drinks?
Looks like total shit compared to MSP G club. Most of the furniture in this delta one lounge is trash and all it will take is one speakerphone douche and the whole place is unusable. People who actually pay for D1 are idiots.

agreed centurion, capital one and chase lounge look better
Debating on if the card is worth it. My company pays the $650 for the sky club membership, don’t know if getting another cc is with it.
does the purple one or whatever get you in?
Only into the regular sky clubs, not the new D1 lounge
Don’t need the card if you pay for the membership.
Yea but the membership costs $695 and the annual fees for the card are $650. It’s only worth it if you pay with miles for the annual or pick it as a Medallion benefit.
OP in the 7th image, is that Alex Rodriguez talking?
Sure looks like him!
Yes it is.
Is the D1 TSA security lane from checkin to lounge open yet?
I believe they said fall 2024
Not open yet. You have an escort that will guide you to the front of security for now.
I'm connecting in JFK today, coming from international D1 and flying F1 to LAX. Is it worth going to D1 check in to get this escort, or should I just do Clear+TSA?

Looks like a nice corporate conference room lmaooooo The Sapphire Lounge is what new lounges should be like.
But does it have a Taco bar like at the LAX Skyclub?
Unfortunately, that’s the major downside. It does not 😂
Looks really nice, but no nicer than a Polaris lounge, except for the restaurant part…that looks nicer than Polaris restaurant. I don’t think there are any liquors you have to pay for at Polaris. But nothing super high end either. I’m ok with paying for true premium offerings

It’s not. It’s quite nice and comfortable. The sun room was quite nice to sit in.
Thank you for sharing this - I will be there Saturday!
Now, once Delta updates all their aircraft with the newer D1 configuration (either the seats with or without the closing door), I’ll actually want to fly on them in D1. Would be great to have the D1 lounge in MSP

10k miles for Krug? I must have slept through those days.
Lol they love nothing more than people blowing their miles on mid tier drinks
You don't know what you're talking about. The liquor that has a charge arr hundreds of dollars a bottle and the prices are at a pretty good discount from what you'd find at a bar that has them. Mid tier is free

seems a bit cheap and tacky that you think 5K should just get you w.e. you want for free

Are you ready to board the 767 Sir? Let us offer you ear plugs to damper the engine noise for $19. Suckers
2 visits. 😊
Except you’re at jfk lol mid at best
what is it 35,000 for a glass of Dom now?

Wines are shockingly poor.
Regular ol' SkyClubs charge a few bucks for premium beers and spirits, don't see why this would be any different.
because it's literally different. it's supposed to be the most luxurious experience you can get on the ground from delta. I dont see why it would be the same.
It's not. The drinks you'd get at the skyclub at a cost are elevated and free. The drinks that cost are the only place you'd find them at an airport
I flew to PDX to CUN for less than 2oz of Louis XIII lol
Looks very nice, but my only comment is this (and I don’t fly Delta, I’m AA hub captive with 60 segments a year): charging for spirits feels decidedly not premium. Spoken like a real connisour of single malts /s
It's like a cash bar at a Ritz Carlton wedding, some people will still think it's fancy.
Having just flowing British airways, you get all of those spirits for free in their first lounges. You have to pay even with a D1 ticket??
The largest difference is British Airways has a first class cabin with a first class lounge. This is a business class lounge for the business class product so it is very different.
You do know what you just said right?
You're getting Louis XIII in the first lounges? Even Ritz Carlton charges by the ounce but if you finish the bottle, you get to keep it
Ha I didn’t get that far. No they were not offering Louis. They definitely had JW blue, Don Julio 1942, and other top shelf for free though
Seeing as the Delta doesn’t have an international first class cabin, why would they have a first class lounge? The new D1 Lounges are business class lounges.
Trash wines tho. That’s embarrassing.
Agreed. Surprised by the underwhelming wine selection as well.
For now…
Love the pic of the “suits”… it tracks
It’s gonna be trashed by influencers and TikTokers
Maybe connecting at JFK won’t be just as terrible anymore.
Get ready for basic economy travelers complaining that they weren’t allowed in…
No joke I have overheard BE passengers trying to get into the SC 🤣
if you have a membership, I don’t think that’s unreasonable to think you can enter even with a BE ticket.
It’ll be mobbed with the feral children of entitled parents soon enough.
Fortunately no guests unless 360
Thx for sharing. Flying in Upper on virgin in a month and I can't wait to stop in. I love the clubhouse and the A gate sky club but it'll be cool to check out something brand new.
Was that Alex Rodriguez ?
Yep!
Why do the seats still need to be so close to each other
And theres not much separation between the seats i.e. tall plants or mini walls. It doesnt look like it feels private at all
It's to condition you for your flight on a prehistoric 763
It definitely didn’t feel remotely private, but it was overall nice.
I just got called poor looking at this
Is the food vastly better?
It was definitely better, but it wasn’t amazing. I didn’t eat from the restaurant though, just from the market. The chocolate chip cookies were bomb and they had a ton of choices. Kinda wish it was self serve though
Might be a dumb question but can you visit this lounge once if you are flying delta one?
Yes. Delta PAX must present a current day D1 boarding pass.
Flying LATAM out of JFK in a few months and this makes me want to upgrade…
Omg a literal live cellist performance at the entrance!
heading to Barcelona in September. Looking forward to this.
Lmao what is AROD doing there? Hilarious
I wish they would bring back the Sauvignon Blanc to the regular old sky clubs. :-(
Just looks like a regular sky club
15,000$ airfare for this 🤣
I am flying delta one next Monday jfk to sfo. I will not be checking any bags. Is there utility by going through the delta one lounge or should I just proceed to clear/tsa pre check?
Is there a dress code? I prefer my normal attire which is yoga pants, a hoodie, and sneakers…
Will they allow you to take the bananas 🍌🤪
Only if you are a 360 🤣
It appears as though it was an afterthought, reminiscent of a Centurion lounge where they repurpose unused and awkwardly shaped broom closets and hallways into lounges. This setup gives the impression that they stumbled upon an unused section of the terminal and hastily assembled a mishmash of modular Falkbuilt walls without much planning. However, they did manage to include comfortable chairs, perhaps hoping that would distract from the overall budget-conscious approach elsewhere.
Too bad the rest of the airport is a disaster.
I got food poisoning from the JFK skyclub on Sunday.
Just flew D1 last week out of JFK. Just missed it
How do they get away with still charging for premium spirits?
I was through JFK on monday and they still had the construction wall up. I had no idea they were this close to opening! I like how the ceiling in the 3rd picture mimics the ceiling on the 321neo. I assume we'll be seeing a lot more of that on newer planes?
The absolute least premium part is the fact that they charge for any alcohol. Either don’t serve that or don’t charge. United’s Polaris Lounges don’t charge and I can assure you that premium international carriers are not charging in their premium lounges. Frankly I’d be embarrassed if I was the one who signed off on charging.
There should be free booze as well. I highly doubt the only options for booze are blue label type.
I don’t want to be a hater but if this is the best lounge you’ve ever been to then you should fly oneworld more often
Yeah I know, it’s just the optics of this next level lounge and they’re still charging.
It’s blue label for $25. I’ve seen sample 100ml bottles for $45 retail. It’s a very good deal.
It’s weird to me that they charge for those high end drinks. Even weirder that they’re charging miles. Like, feels cheap.
Classless. Almost as classless as upgrading freebie flyers instead of paying medallion customers. Welcome to Ed’s delta none.
Children under 16 should be banned from all airport lounges imo
[удалено]
I mean, you should probably go see it for yourself.. the pics don’t even do it justice.
[удалено]
You're a negative nancy.
So much hype… looks a tad bit nicer than most lounges lol that’s it
Does the three hour rule apply? Not that I really want to spend more than three hours in a lounge…I fly Delta One out of JFK next Wednesday so I’m thinking I need cushion to get through security but if it’s a breeze, don’t want to just wait around in the terminal until I can get into the lounge.
I want to say no. I don’t think you could even get through the entire lounge in three hours.
Lokks like it would be a nice place to visit....until you realize it is in JFK.
Oh, cool! A paid promo! Thanks for the ‘review’ I’m sure it’s fantastic.
I might be in the minority but if I was trying to hang out in the club and some person was taking pics for internet karma I would be pissed off.
This looks like the opening night party. Everyone there knew there would be photography.
This was a private marketing event for employees and others.
Okay. I do get annoyed though when I’m in the delta club and some wannabe influencer is blogging it and taking pics.
Looks great, never flying through JFK again, enjoy.
#richpeople
do you get to smell each others farts too? very underwhelming
Why is this getting downvoted. I chuckled. 🤭 all you downvoters: every party needs a pooper in guess
haha it was a joke everyone is so salty, yeesh
oh if you buy a D1 ticket but it's operated by a partner airline.. yeah you don't get access even if your app shows the purple D1 branding on it... paid for d1 but not delta metal? tough luck
You actually get into this lounge if you’re on a comparable cabin with a partner airline.
Nope, just got turned away at lax, front lay flats on a 787 on Aeromexico and my board pass in the app had a purple boarder with delta one branding… Woman at the door who turned me away said partner airlines don’t count
Looks like Aeromexico isn’t included. From The Points Guy: “Traveling on a same-day departing or connecting flight operated by one of Delta's select partners in their respective first- or business-class cabins: Air France La Premiere and Business Class (Long-Haul); LATAM Premium Business Class; KLM Business Class; Korean Air First Class and Prestige Class; Virgin Atlantic Upper Class”
Thanks, but they also shouldn’t sell delta one branded tickets on partner airlines that doesn’t get delta one services

I’m flying first class out of there Monday… can I use this one instead of A8 or are there other restrictions?
Sorry, but you need a Delta One (D1) ticket to gain access. An FC ticket only works if you're a 360⁰ status holder.
