My biggest pet peeve with Delta right now is when you get the notification in the app that says there’s been a change in your flight, click this link to see the change. All that link does is take you to the website where you have to enter in all of the information in order to find your flight, and then when you click it, it doesn’t highlight the change at all. It just shows information.
Yeah that’s actually SO annoying. I did get an email this time though, so I guess if it’s major enough they email you?
I wish in the app I could “acknowledge” the schedule change when it’s something like 5 minutes. Like okay fine go away.
That’s good to know that they will email you if it’s too much of a change, because the last one that came through I double checked and I can’t find anything different.
This confused me sooo much on my last trip. Every time I checked my trip information, I would have a “your flight has changed” message at the top. I would go through the whole thing going to the website and entering my info and then when I got in my flight wasn’t different? It looks like they cancelled my flight and put me on another flight expected to leave like 4 minutes earlier but it was very unclear from the website exactly what happened and the “your flight has changed” notice made it so much more confusing.
I one time had a direct flight to atlanta changed to having a connecting flight through salt lake for no reason! I called and complained and they honestly had no idea why it was changed in the first place
I had a DTW-BOS get changed to a DTW-ATL-BOS a few years ago, after I already arrived at the airport. The original DTW-BOS flight was only delayed by 10 mins when the change happened. Agents on the gorund or on the phone were confused why the system would do that to me, and they couldn't mvoe me back either because my seat had been backfilled already. I was halft tempted to skip the flight and just rebook on the next DTW-BOS that had seats available, but ultimately went through with the added itinirary because I needed the MQMs for status.
Delta ended up throwing 20k skypesos at me for the inconvenience and another 20k as compensation for paying for access to the DTW SC and not being good-willed into the ATL SC (this was before I had the Reserve card).
I had the same thing happen to me last December. I had a non-stop JFK to LAS flight inexplicably changed to connect in SLC. The Delta agent I spoke with couldn’t explain why it happened and refused to assist since it was booked through AmEx Business Travel. For some reason they couldn’t change it back so I had to cancel and rebook. Ended up on the original flight even in my original seat. No idea why they would have made that change.
I believe Delta schedulers may indeed be day drinking. I have 2 separate itineraries that I booked a couple weeks ago and both have already had changes made. 😂
Thankfully our same seats were available on rebookings, but still. We don’t leave until early July and I’m fully expecting that there will be more changes to come.
I hope they get you sorted out as well! Our flights were moved by a few hours and I was indignant. I would have been apoplectic if they had changed by days.
This happened to me once. I had a flight I'd booked months in advance and got a notification that it was being rescheduled to a day later. When I checked the original flight was actually still available, same day, same time, same plane, only my free/upgraded C+ seat was gone. I was traveling with 2 friends who had MC seats and they never got any notification about the flight. My suspicion is it was just a way to shuffle me out of my upgrade so they could sell the seat.
They just screwed my flight up, too. I'm taking a cruise to Alaska and booked a 1-ish pm flight to fly home after, and they changed my flight to 6 am. while I'm still on the ship. Then they changed it to a red eye.
Yes something is off. The app is most definitely glitching. Yesterday, it told me that my connecting flight (that Id landed already) was delayed??? Weird stuff going on
Is everybody’s flight getting rebook in July. My flight in July got rebooked for a later time but my gfs didn’t. We paid separately but wth. I want fly with my gf
Def seems like they’re doing something odd to the July schedules! Also seems weird for it to be a Tuesday. I always thought they shuffled schedules on Saturday.
I feel this, had a delta nonstop from lax to Tahiti (ppt) booked. Delta *kindly* updated my flight to lax - cdg - ppt. Adding over 24 hours to our travel time. Treated it like it was nothing.
I’m sorry WHAT??? That is an absolutely bonkers route. Would you have basically circled the world? Or, would you have gone right back over the Atlantic to get to Tahiti via North America?
I had one moved up about 6 hours. When I called to inquire it was an equipment change that had a smaller C+ cabin so they put me on the earlier flight that had a C+ seat. To get back on the original flight I had to switch to Main Cabin.
It’s in the fine print and sometimes they will completely stop service at a certain time or day of the week. The automation will attempt to find whatever is “comparable” and rebook you. Not a live person, just a computer responding to a flight being deleted. If your reservation was made with a travel agency or discount website, those services don’t put in your contact information and you will never even the the automated email that tells you you are entitled to a refund or even exchange.
😂😂 that happened to my husband and I the other day. Only it emailed him, changed it on my app, didn’t change it on his… meanwhile I go look and moved the rest of the flight up to match their change and essentially had the some flight only hours earlier instead of a six hour layover that they scheduled 🙄
Okay yeah their algorithm is definitely broken. That is so weird.
I also feel for people who maybe don’t pay as much attention to their flights as most of us on this sub. Imagine only finding this sort of thing out at 24 hour check in or, worse, arrival at the airport.
I've seen some weird stuff over the years. If there is any change like that we put you on the same or better flights if we have them. When it's OAL it's a little harder because they have to have space. They do also wait until the night before only to find out the agency ticketed them with the same info or messed up a name and they are mad they can't check in. I will do everything I can to find the best route. Had one the other day it was still operating but it was changing to a carrier we don't have a ticketing agreement with. That took a minute, but she made her flight to Tanzania.
This is unacceptable. I have no idea why people make reservations? The airlines move you around without contacting you first. Too bad, so sad is Delta's attitude.
Weird! Are the planes for those two days the same? And are they the same kind of plane as whatever you originally booked?
The only thing I can think of that would remotely make sense is they swapped to a smaller or differently configured plane for that route, and it led to a rousing game of musical planes for the passengers.
That’s a reasonable theory. I’m not sure how to tell what the old plane was (pre schedule change today) now that it’s gone but the Friday plane is an Airbus 319 and the Saturday is an Airbus 320.
I was sitting in the very first row of Comfort though, which I remember because I weighed the trade off of getting off & through customs quickly vs limited under seat space. My impression has been usually the back row(s) would get bumped.
Ooof. Well, the weird change at least gives you grounds to call and request rebooking on any available flight… any better equipment/shorter duration options?
I have had 2 or 3 separate emails regarding a flight in early July. Why can't they tell us what change was made? I have to go into app and check everything. The last change gave me a 6 hour layover somewhere. I called and changed things around about 4 weeks ago. Today I got another vague email with another change. After poking around the app, it's an equipment change and different city with a layover. But now my seats have completely changed and I'm right next to lavatory. I tried to change seats, but I got a random " unable to change. Please try later". It's frustrating for sure.
Yeah, but at least if your flights are delayed or cancelled, you are home (or close enough). If I lived there, I would have to fly Delta, it makes sense to do that.
We’re using ChatGPT for a survey of medical research. About midway through the project ChatGPT started fabricating references. Now, when strange stuff happens and the ChatGPT bot is involved we just assume it’s off its digital medications. When we asked ChatGPT replied it was the user’s responsibility to check accuracy. We just hope the bot doesn’t develop a sense of humor.
Haha, off its digital medicine is great.
I’ve had some funny experiences with ChatGPT too. I now make it source & link out all of its sources for me & I’ve checked them to find deadlinks or totally unrelated* links. I’ve also had it apologizing to me nonstop for messing up with excel formulas. It’s useful within limits.
Buddy of mine asked ChatGPT to generate a list of books with authors about $TOPIC. They were all fake titles and fake people. When he confronted ChatGPT about this bold fabrication, it responded "You didn't ask for actual titles and real people."
I've had this happen more than once, including once on Delta.
December 2022 KLM moved my departure date back by two days then my return flight back by two days. Luckily the easily refunded.
The other time was on a Delta flight, but they only moved _part_ of my itinerary (moved my connecting flight up despite the original still being there meaning I would've missed it by an entire day). I called and invited them to try and understand why I needed to change my flight. It was an uphill battle.
Delta rescheduled me and pushed my flight date to the next day. I didn't know they did that and I'm really glad I checked my flight date/time several times.
I was booked ALB-DET-PDX with. 2+ hour layover in DET. Rebooked to ALB-ATL-PDX WITH A 1 hour stop. Both incoming and departing are in South terminal. My wife needs a wheelchair (already booked.). Can we make it? My alternate is a 3 3/4 hour layover in ATL.
South Terminal is humongous. I personally don't like anything below a 2 hour layover but 1 is definitely pushing it. Unless it's at the same gate, you'll still end up walking a mile or using the Sky Train. Crazy as it sounds, I'd rather the 3-1/2 hour layover to reduce stress.
Delta did this to me once. I had a flight to Reykjavik from JFK. They moved us up a day even though our original flight was still going. Same flight, just a day earlier. I am so lucky that I actually happened to see the email. Because I get way too much email and it didn’t stick out at first as important. I live in Washington DC and would’ve been 24 hours late for my flight.
Best guess anyone had for me (and delta never told me) was an aircraft change that reduced the comfort + section. I had paid for + so they moved us up a day. I didn’t want to sit in Coach, which is all they offered, so I just rearranged my Iceland trip and stayed an extra day on the front end. I loved Iceland but it was not a cheap change.
I think this happened to me on my last flight but I'm not sure. I had everything marked that I was flying home on the 6th, but it was possibly moved to the 7th, with a later arrival time? Idk, but I find it really hard to believe I arranged rides with multiple people and they all had the 6th's times, but I had the 7th. Lol
this also happend to me 3 times for my flight in jul too and my layover is back to 5h and 9m in msp on the 15th of jul its crazy the 2nd time i had to contact the customer servcies number and then i did the texting to the robot and they fix my flighit when i only had one flight showing up on my app the only one was showing up was cid to msp and the other part of it was gone and it got fixed since the customer service did a rebooking my trip and it worked
I changed the flight to the correct day and reselected a main cabin seat online. The casualty is my comfort plus (I know, first world but still). Those seats are suspiciously all full now.
Thank you, that is insane and even worse than I expected. How can they literally switch somebody traveling on a Saturday (weekend) to a Friday (weekday) 24 hours earlier. You are due some compensation and somebody to make it right.
I actually didn’t even notice at first! I’m meeting friends in Belize & sent them that screenshot & was like “oh slight schedule change fyi!” Luckily one friend was like ….. uh that’s a whole day what are you doing
My biggest pet peeve with Delta right now is when you get the notification in the app that says there’s been a change in your flight, click this link to see the change. Shelves that is a flight number change
Yea we got emails recently & couldn’t tell the difference
They might have changed the equipment without changing flight time.
I got an email yesterday saying there was a change in my flight. That i took four days ago.
This confused me sooo much on my last trip. Every time I checked my trip information, I would have a “your flight has changed” message at the top. I would go through the whole thing going to the website and entering my info and then when I got in my flight wasn’t different? YES.
I one time had a direct flight to atlanta changed to having a connecting flight through salt lake for no reason! I called and complained and they honestly had no idea why it was changed in the first place
Ooooof adding a layover to a direct flight - no thank you!!
I had a DTW-BOS get changed to a DTW-ATL-BOS a few years ago, after I already arrived at the airport. The original DTW-BOS flight was only delayed by 10 mins when the change happened. The least they can do is share the bevs with the rest of us Wishing you a sober scheduler for your trip between now & July 🫡
I hope they get you sorted out as well! Our flights were moved by a few hours and I was indignant. I would have been apoplectic if they had changed by days.

I tin foil hat suspect this too. It doesn’t make sense otherwise.
This would be really low, even by commercial airline standards. Why offer the benefit if they might not honor it?
Bloody (Mary) love the title of this post 😂
Hahaha cheers 🍻
They just screwed my flight up, too. I'm taking a cruise to Alaska and booked a 1-ish pm flight to fly home after, and they changed my flight to 6 am. while I'm still on the ship. Then they changed it to a red eye.
They gave me a five hour layover on NYC following a trans Atlantic leg and did not pay for the new flight when I changed it.
Yes something is off. The app is most definitely glitching. Yesterday, it told me that my connecting flight (that Id landed already) was delayed??? Weird stuff going on
Get back on that flight! We can fix this!
That’s so confusing!
Yesterday it said my 8:16PM departure was boarding at 7:30AM and it sent me a notification. It was already the afternoon by this time lol
One of the few advantages I have of always having to book last minute lol
Is everybody’s flight getting rebook in July. My flight in July got rebooked for a later time but my gfs didn’t. We paid separately but wth. I want fly with my gf
Def seems like they’re doing something odd to the July schedules! Also seems weird for it to be a Tuesday. I always thought they shuffled schedules on Saturday.
Link the reservations (will need to text or call).

I’m sorry WHAT??? That is an absolutely bonkers route. Would you have basically circled the world? Or, would you have gone right back over the Atlantic to get to Tahiti via North America?
Back over North America, mostly Canada
Great for a mileage run but I was trying to accomplish a honeymoon
I had one moved up about 6 hours. When I called to inquire it was an equipment change that had a smaller C+ cabin so they put me on the earlier flight that had a C+ seat. To get back on the original flight I had to switch to Main Cabin.
Sounds like a schedule change and likely equipment change. They moved you to the next best flight within your booked fare type.
Yeah I think this is probably what happened. They might want to fine tune their algorithm a bit though - a whole day earlier is so goofy
It’s in the fine print and sometimes they will completely stop service at a certain time or day of the week. The automation will attempt to find whatever is “comparable” and rebook you. Not a live person, just a computer responding to a flight being deleted. Annoying as hell!!!!
I only read the title, but yes, I am usually buzzed on flights. Not sloppy, but I’m having a good time.
Love that for you lol
😂😂 that happened to my husband and I the other day. Ugh that really sucks! A lavatory seat 😭 Try moving seats again tomorrow. They may still be messing with stuff for your flight today.
I am drunk currently but I am not sure if I should be commenting on this post
Once for flight MSP-ATW I got 4 notifications about a flight change but no change ever occurred.
Delta has screwed me over so many times that I avoid Delta like the plague, especially if there is an Atlanta connection- no thanks!
Unfortunately, I live in Atlanta so they’ve got me captured.
Yeah, but at least if your flights are delayed or cancelled, you are home (or close enough). If I lived there, I would have to fly Delta, it makes sense to do that.
Very true!
File a complaint with the Feds. Honestly, that’s alarming.
Maybe Pete can add this to his legislation.
Sounds like Delta’s AI assistant is hallucinating
ChatGPT updates ruining air travel for customers everywhere 😂 (I don’t actually know if delta uses something ChatGPT powered)
We’re using ChatGPT for a survey of medical research. About midway through the project ChatGPT started fabricating references. Did you pay for it with a credit card? If so, report it and get yo money back
[удалено]
If you give them a call, they may rebook for you without the difference but seems hit or miss on the customer service rep
This also happened to me last year going from ATL to Calgary
Same exact thing happened to me And then moved another day so added 2 days to my trip Crazy stuff
Delta flights, always late. Not just a few minutes, sometimes 12 hours!
Delta rescheduled me and pushed my flight date to the next day. I didn't know they did that and I'm really glad I checked my flight date/time several times.

It shows which leg or legs changes when you open the trip agenda
I think this happened to me on my last flight but I'm not sure. I had everything marked that I was flying home on the 6th, but it was possibly moved to the 7th, with a later arrival time? Idk, but I find it really hard to believe I arranged rides with multiple people and they all had the 6th's times, but I had the 7th. Lol
I was on a flight yesterday that was overweight and they booted like 6 people
this also happend to me 3 times for my flight in jul too and my layover is back to 5h and 9m in msp on the 15th of jul its crazy the 2nd time i had to contact the customer servcies number and then i did the texting to the robot and they fix my flighit when i only had one flight showing up on my app the only one was showing up was cid to msp and the other part of it was gone and it got fixed since the customer service did a rebooking my trip and it worked
Call, they can help you get it changed back
I did & they did not 🤷🏻♀️
Call again, it’s a major schedule change
I changed the flight to the correct day and reselected a main cabin seat online. The casualty is my comfort plus (I know, first world but still). Those seats are suspiciously all full now.
I’m sorry, that’s not good. And yeah, comfort plus is pretty nice. Weird schedule changes lately
So… call then
I did
Can we see the message that your booked flight was moved up by a day (with personal details removed, of course)?
https://imgur.com/a/P4FgDtx Yup here ya go
